Okay' . . I think I've just about had it with Windows Movie Maker. It's buggy, it can't handle large files, and . . well, I want to murder it. If it was a human being, I'd skin it alive. Can anyone suggest a free or low price video editing thing? I can't even consider trying to make anything else on WMM when it keeps causing me such agony. :D

If you have no video editing experience - use Windows movie maker to experiment with it. Every Windows XP or later has this sofware by default.
And yes, Sony Vegas is probably the most popular software here.
Virtualdub, MPEG Streamclip and avidemux are popular free video editors.
There are numerous other video editors like Adobe Premiere Elements, ulead MovieFactory, Pinnacle, Cyberlink Movie Director, Corel VideoStudio, Magix Movie Edit Pro, etc.
Interesting however that none of them can handle flv files XD

I use Vegas. However, it's really hard to find a free copy that doesn't involve torrents or keygens. I think I have the link written down somewhere.

I use cs5, but premiere is some great software. I have the entire creativity suite, there are some awesome tools (photoshop, after-effects, soundbooth, flash, etc.) included.

It is a bit expensive, though. Vegas is a great (much cheaper) alternative, I bought that a few years ago but got rid of it once i got cs4(and eventually cs5).

If you're pirating it anyway, it doesn't matter that much and you should just go with cs5 anyway. :D

edit: nevermind. Vegas isn't nearly as cheap as it was when I got it. I remember only getting it for around $40-$50.

I actually looked it up and I guess you can get an older version of it for around that price. Still . . I'm not sure if I want to spend that much, even if it's only $45, and the free editing things suggested aren't exactly easy to use. The one that actually looked really good doesn't have a version for Windows. Maybe I should retire for awhile. :D

Heh, What can I say? I'm a perfectionist. And what with my hobbies of AMVs, clip making and fandubbing, Vegas gives me all the stuff I need for it to be of a quality I'm satisfied with. Plus I'm too use to it to switch to somethin' else now.

100+ dollars relatively isn't much for what it gives you. Though that's infuriating compared to the f--king price Xelais gave -_-
