Everyone hears a song and thinks "this would do well in an amv..." or a quote from something, or watch a bit of an anime and think "omg that would be hilarious with something else dubbed over it..."

But we also are sometimes (read: often/always) too lazy to actually do anything with it, and so we find our way to amvhell and post the half-idea randomly in any given thread or, heaven forbid, the chatroll.

Despite being told to find it when I made this same faux pas (we have those here?), there actually doesn't seem to be a Useless AMV Idea Thread, so insetad, I thought up a game!


RULES OF THE GAME

1. READ THE LATEST POST, then provide a related and useful image, clip, song, or joke to be made that fits the half-idea of that post.

2. Post your half-idea, be it a song or a clip from an anime, or a joke that hasn't been seen yet/lately.

SPECIAL RULE

If during Rule #1 you have definitive evidence that the joke/song/image/whatever has been used, abused, or is otherwise literally the worst thing you have ever heard of, you may replace Rule #1 with Rule #0 below-

0. READ THE LATEST POST; upon finding it unacceptable, you must provide evidence of its Uselessness, and offer a different direction to go with it, if possible.

This way, we can all relieve ourselves of our half-ideas, and receive/give constructive responses to them!

AMV Idea Game Thread.

I kinda like the idea of a game-style thread as opposed to just dumping ideas and hoping someone randomly picks them up.

That being said, I still don't really see this taking off too much....if at all...

Also, the rules are a little confusing to me. Am I supposed to post a image of an anime I think will fit or something? Or does it have to be a very specific scene that would work from the anime? Or can it be either?

pretty much whatever, but I mean... the idea is to think about the previous idea and offer something extra to it. if it's a song, offer an anime or clip or image from one that you think would work well with it, or if the song doesn't have an obvious joke, offer a situation in which it would be funny and maybe someone will remember an anime in which it can all be combined.

Bah, you're probably right. oh well...


EDIT: Hell, you could off a Rule #1 and then not have anything to post, you know? then the next person just makes their #2. i guess the real intent is that by seeing an original idea and also seeing a suggested extra something to it, an amv creator may get interested in using that idea now, which obviously is the entire point of anyone suggesting things to use for AMVs...

EDIT2: then again, this could also just be a forum game entirely used to waste time by posting random songs/quotes/jokes and seeing what people come up with in return, like amv tennis I guess?
