8: This was interesting. Very atmospheric and the it did a good job of synchronizing music with lyrics. I find comedy in this too, but unfortunately it is subtle as hell. Okay effort.

11: You know, for second and a half there, i thought that would be synched properly. AND "adultswim" watermark...beautiful.

12: Another interesting one with subtle humor. Was this a parody of an existing commercial? The beat synching was a nice touch and overall i liked it. I And here i was ready to snap thinking that was subs again.

13: Felt you missed an opportunity to show some ****eded up images and call that art, but i get that we get restricted here. Just had more potential in my opinion.

You weren't the only one who got it. I thought it was extremely obvious, though well done.

# 10: if you wanted to mimic Cameron's gaze at the painting in the Art Museum Scene in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", you needed to keep zooming into the stuffed animal's face. Without doing that, part of the effect is lost.
# 14: I think you misattributed where the audio came from. It's plainly 4"33' by John Cage.

Funny, I didn't have to take any art classes with my engineering degree, though I did have to take four English courses that I subsequently talked the professor into giving me a C for the semester without attending because I convinced her that it was unnecessary for my major.

Righty then, I've put this down long enough.

1. Art can be psychedelic, and this one does a very good job at doing so. It has a good dynamic and has indices (though really slight) of comedy. You could call it pandering to the Hell community. Then again, the effect of its overall execution is not that dependent on the use of the previous Challenge winners. You could change the winning entries to other similar sources and the impression would be the same.

4. You want to speak about really pandering to the Hell community, and this baby is the prime example. A bloody mess.

6. Works just fine as a skit involving art.

8. A good AMV with a very overall wonderland element, it's both artistic and very well put.

10. Very sloppy editing. It's like you couldn't freeze a frame or something. Not to mention that the overall intention doesn't amount to anything.

11. Dancing is indeed a form of art, point made. So... where's your actual content? Nice logo, by the way. Make sure it doesn't get damaged on your way back to school.

12. Rather jazzy. It works out okay, I guess, though I don't get all of its elements (the cheap writing, for example).

13. Preaching about why should I like your video. Cute. Why don't you go ahead and show me how good your video is instead of telling me about it? Oh, you've got little? Figures.

So, we've got 1, 6, 8, and 12. Since there actually are really good "theme related" AMV's on this challenge, I'm not going to exclusively weed them out on the fact that they're not funny. If anything, there was very little fun overall. So, I'll rather focus on the artistic side and the overall impression these clips had on me.

4th place goes to 6 on the sole fact that it doesn't really stand out that well in comparison to the higher ranked clips. Also, it's a skit set to a member of the Family Guy tier shows by Seth MacFarlane. There's a reason to why they were banned before, and we don't need to make the same mistakes again. Tread carefully.

3rd place goes to 12 due to its alternative jazz feel, and its overall attitude towards technology. Granted, I believe that the execution could've been done a tad better.

2nd place goes to 8 for overall being very flawless and effective in its execution. I would've cut it a few seconds short at the end so that the techno switch wouldn't have tainted the overall fantastic theme of the clip, but that's relatively minor.

When you talk about art, especially modern art, going heavy on the psychodelic usually brings out pretty good results. Combine that with an overall decent, well-timed execution and you get something that's going to win a lot of people over, myself included. It's really hard to go wrong with a clip like this. That's why I put the aptly named clip number 1 in the 1st place, and therefore it gets my vote.
