Some good solid entries. The Bohemian Rhapsody one sadly has editing flaws as the sky the moves resulting in jumpy sky when the mouth's are lip synced. This scene is not giving anyone a good time in lip syncing one way or another.

and yes 4 was great, but I just got a real kick out of 8 because it took the Girls und Panzer clip from AMVH7 and put Wayne's World to it which seems an obvious choice now. What audio did the original clip use. I can't even remember, they were singing teenage dirt bag. This is just way better.

yeah, tough call between 4 and 8. Goin' with 8 though. I remember the original amv, and thought that this was an EXCELLENT (wait, wrong movie) audio change, plus I like it even more after seeing the waynes world clip, which I haven't seen in years and parallels so beautifully. 4 had a nice double entendre with the fox, but I personally liked 8 better.

1 - Eh, it's nice, but not that great.
2 - Should have just used the 2nd half of the video for the 1st half of the music.
3 - It's nice, but whatever.
4 - LOLOLOLOLOLOLOOOOOOLLLL!!!! Yup, that pretty much summed up our thoughts.
5 - The School Rumble was better because it used the climax of the music, and this one took a little too long.
6 - All it gets is a "heh" as it made me laugh, but it was okay.
7 - Now that is cool.

Alright, let's do something actually worthwhile.

1. That song from Jem to K-On!, how original. It's decent, alright, but I'm tired of it.

2. I can actually see from 10 bloody meters out which ones are the still frames and which ones are the motion frames. Basically, you ****ed up your way of sampling the still frames. Not to mention the bobbing doesn't match the beat. Lazy work.

3. I guess it works as a remake of that Shinji one. Nothing spectacular, but it does its job. Well done.

4. A good, new spin of the existing concept. Add AMV Minis to it and you get a solid entry.

5. The meter is there for... nothing. I guess it would come up as a good AMV on its own, were this not an uninspired remake.

6. The actual joke is not that funny of its own, so this comes more as an observation.

7. YouTube lore. You either love it or hate it (or are mindless on handling it, see 4 posts above this one). Without the knowledge, you just have a song playing on the tape recorder, which isn't really a joke.

8. What a piss poor attempt at lip sync. It's like you didn't care if the background repeated or not. Well, I'll correspond to said apathy with a well said "try again".

9. Unless the bad lip sync was part of the joke... that's bad lip syncing right there. And I noticed that brief video jump in size, might want to not have that happening at all.

So, 4. Vote. Alright?

Well, since there's only 9 videos, a review is a bit easier so I'll do one.

1: There's no joke here. Albeit a remake, this one more deserves to
be in the AMV challenge.

2: Admit it. It's funny.

3: Liked the original. Like the remake.

4: Great extension of the original concept.

5: Epic! Great fit.

6: Umm.......

7: This one kinda flat-lined for me. If there is
a joke in the music, I missed it.

8. Lip-synch is a specialty. So I saw a few too many static backgrounds,
too many repeated scenes, and a number of places where much more dynamic
visuals were required. (Galileo should have been much much more)

9. This one has a couple of lip-synch issues as well.
It's problem was more that it wasn't very funny.

#4 gets my vote.

I think you know by now that I don’t suffer fools gladly. Youtube is full of fools, obviously. AMVHF… has its fair share, but some of them are at least able to splice together footage of Chinese cartoons to ill-fitting music to a sometimes, somewhat amusing effect, hence my more constructive and encouraging rants on this forum. You dig?


01 – Please K-Off! – I won’t bother speculating what AMV this is remaking exactly, it could be one of several, or even several. Either way, its really not that important. Any enjoyment or entertainment I might get out of this entry hinges on two things:
Whether or not I like K-On! and-
Whether or not I like the music of Jem and the Holograms.
Well - I hate K-On! and I can’t stand the music of Jem and the Holograms. Sucks to be me. Point (2). Weak entry.

02 – Haar haar haar – What a lazy non-effort. You could have at least tried editing the timings on the head nods to sync with the beat… or maybe you did and just did a really lousy job of it.

As it is, this looks like little more than a copy and paste job with different music slapped-on. Pathetic.
If this was deemed an acceptable entry, Zarxrax, I shudder to think of what those three rejects looked like. You’re a trooper and I thank you for your continued service, even though Hell7 does suck balls.

03 – Small complaint – This was okay, but it’s not as good as the original clip from Hell3 – which is already perfect to begin with. You should have kept it short. The “It was worth it” punchline just didn’t need to be.
You removed some frames between the shot of Asuka looking embarrassed and the kick at 1:03, the cut was too sudden and it didn’t look good.

04 – Nerves – This was alright. This was a good choice of clip to redo because the original from Hell6.66 (http://youtu.be/Bj-mal_6xOs?t=49m18s) was such a failure. We wait 11 seconds in silence for the pay-off and it’s the same song? <sigh> What an anti-gag. Lame, Stevie. Super lame.
Not sure about that ending card though, I always preferred Tom and Jerry over Looney Tunes, personally.

05 – Straws – Mmm…yea… why remake that clip? What’s been improved/ how does this sync better? What fresh spin did you add into the mix? Why add source audio at the end like that?
Pointless remake. As a standalone AMV= Point (2). Bad entry.

06 – Screwed – Hmm… A fusion of the Sakura Trick/Defying gravity and Fate Zero/ASDFmovie clips from Hell7… well, this isn’t better than nor improves either one of them.
Forgetting any previous instalment of AMV Hell and judging this as a standalone clip however- it’s one of those: “Why even bother making it?” AMVs.
What does this AMV do that the original (ASDFMovie) source doesn’t? Where’s the creativity? What makes this AMV your creation and not something anybody else could do (and has been done, unless you happen to be Sir. Fluffykins)?
Lame entry.

07 – Another failure – Point (5). This was a good choice of clip to remake. The original from Hell7 (http://youtu.be/Mff0aUIwYEU?t=13m53s) was just awful; of all the noises to emanate from that tape recorder- President Raptor chose some painfully unfunny sound clip of Spicy Pepsi <sigh> this was like entering the world’s biggest candy shop with $100 and walking out with a single penny-mint.
As for this remake… <sigh> another penny-mint. What a wasted opportunity. This entry and you suck.

08 – Another failure – The concept is cute and all, but the poor video quality and shoddy editing really can’t be forgiven here.
If we could only hear a maximum of 40 seconds of the skit, why didn’t you at least include the head-thrashing section? There’s no punchline or satisfying end to the clip either, this shows a lack of thought on your part.

An honourable(ish) effort, but the end result is a mess. You clearly bit off way more than you could chew. Watch the video at the end of this post to see how it could have been done.

09 – The hardest word – You could have ended this in so many funny ways… so why didn’t you?
I think I recognise that voice, and I’ll be more than a little disappointed if it turns out to be who I think it is. You can do better than this. And if you’re not who I think this is… whoever you are, you can still do better than this.



Now its time to put up or shut up, by actually taking a previously used idea and making it better.
“Put up or shut up”. Most of the entrants to this challenge probably should have chosen the latter.

My thoughts on the episode:

1. Great. It's JEM, but it's audio that goes great with the visual, so I can't complain.

2. The song chosen and the editing are both worse than the original, so.....why?

3. An update on a classic clip, I like it.

4. It's funny that everyone suddenly hates my original clip, because there's plenty of comments from AMV 6.66 (http://www.amvhell.com/showthread.php?26943-AMV-Hell-6-66-Out-Now!) saying my clip was funny, and that they loved the comedic timing. If lemons are good, and so is lemonade, don't piss on the lemons. Just Saiyan.

As for the clip itself, I HATE that fox son.....buuuuuut it was abruptly interrupted with a shot to the chest (with comedic results), so well done. :D

5. Honestly, I don't think this one had to be remade. The punchline in the original met its mark, and in the recent edition, the tension meter was unnecessary.

6. I kinda like this one, mixing audio from one source and video from another. Not a remake per say, but not bad.

7. I've never seen Another, so I didn't really understand the original or the remake. Can't comment.

8. The lip-synching needed work, but I thought the concept was good.

9. I like it. It has better quality, and apologizes for previous AMV Challenge entries, as opposed to just one episode.

I guess I could go make a compilation of redone failed clips to prove this, but I don't have the impetus at the moment. The first remake was good. The second was slightly better. Point Chaz

7 - Another - Spicy Pepsi/Sandstorm/WTF BOOM

The Sandstorm version was bad. The Original clip was bad. WTF BOOM has been done. Probably would have been better without the WTF BOOM, and went straight to the explosion. Maybe that's just me

I didn't find too much wrong with the first remake, though it didn't add much to the original. The second version had a much better punchline. Point Chaz

8 - Girls und Panzer - Generation Kill/Wayne's World Bo Rhap

By now it probably doesn't affect much if say I did this one. Yeah I know, the lip sync wasn't perfect. I got the first few sections at least decent enough for my skill level, the last couple bits I had to rush because I was running out of free time to do it. The backgrounds didn't help much in some of the sections. I had a previous version of this clip which was worse. Be thankful for that much.
The other thing was, I was trying not to deviate too much from the original clip. While Chaz's version was clearly better, it may be debatable if it's still a remake, or if this constitutes being it's own clip

Anyway, thanks to everyone who did like and/or vote for my version. Also no offense is meant by these reviews. I'm slightly less mean

Yep, Fluffs said it, I don't see any really noticeable modifications in order for this one to be the worse one in comparison to what we saw in the challenge itself. I guess, right out of the bat, there are certain differences, though they're not exactly experience changers.

Regardless, it's not the validity of your claim I had an issue with, but its delivery.

If anything I'd like to ask how you do the cutouts of characters, they're damn near flawless and with me using the masking tool, it's a painfully long procedure and doesn't always come out looking that good

heres my view, either you have an old fashioned inferior brower, which does one simple thing, search **** for you, clean and silent.

or you have chome who nags for plugins, asks for apps, shows you where youve been on and other general bull**** that comes to googles mind.

or you can have firefox which cant ****ing fix it compability with certain sites for 5 years and constantly begs for updates with pop ups [even when you press yes ,just jams that ****]
