Part of me doesn't wanna do this because I don't feel I got most of these by not paying much attention to content that came out in 2014. However, if these were the best songs/audio sources there were to work with, perhaps I was better off...

1: Okay, let's get the obligatory fancy clip over with. Well, it doesn't seem phoned in at least from what I gather, so i commend you for actually trying to edit to that god awful song's lyrics. Beyond that though, it does nothing for me.

2: Obligatory Weird Al Clip. Sorry, but this does NOTHING for me. After 3 watches and trying to follow the lyrics, I'm not sure what you were doing here. Must have to see the anime.

3: Butchering a classic song like that should get you shot. This clip just barely works and takes me as one of those ideas that come off better in your head than in execution.

4: This was a mess. An absolute ****ing mess...At least I saw Space Dandy minus the "adult swim" watermark. You cannot sit there and tell me that "synching" was adequate.

5: Someone was desperate for an idea. Even if they had to use such a lame song. Just meh.

6: Okay, that happened. The attempts at synching were solid, but overall this clip doesn't ever "click" for me. Couldn't suspend disbelief long enough to be amused.

7: I don't get it and i'll shoot myself for saying this later, but could subtitles have helped?

8: Okay, this is a blatant "fancy" ripoff, but **** it. I find this WAAAAAAY better than "fancy." The clip has solid synergy going on through out, however it just barely avoids "filler" by compensating synching the lyrics with editing to the beat. For example: Like the pivot of the heel at "money like this" at 3:15. Decent entry at best.

9: Don't care for this at all. Okay, it's a commercial, but It personally didn't "click" at all to me.

10: Too sloppy to really get anything out of it. Even with polish it probably would have still taken me as a "meh" clip.

11: The synching is okay, but again I don't care at all.

Well, that was a bust. This needed the pink haired goddess. Unfortunately, couldn't think of something to do with the Jem Honda commercial.

I’ll get this one out of the way quickly, while I’m still full of Yuletide joy:

01 – JoJo’s Fancy Adventure – Couldn’t see the joke to this one. What’s with the letterboxing? Don’t tell us you couldn’t find a soft-subbed source anywhere.
“Soft-subbed source”… try saying that thrice.

04 – Hardly Dandy – You need to work on your lip-syncing, especially at the start. What was up with those weird cuts at the end: Eyes, eyes, mouth… what? Dull entry.

06 – Bust – This entry was the most entertaining of the bunch, but as a standalone AMV- nothing particularly memorable. Didn’t find it funny.
The intro could have been trimmed some, but what really spoiled this was the end…
Why? Why did you have to fade out the audio?
You little… I hope you suffer an inconvenient stomach-ache for this, which will momentarily force you to cease participation in a pleasurable leisure activity. That’ll teach you to read my damned signature. Point (4)

07 – Mocking – Don’t shoot yourself, N.P.C.C. Subtitles do have their uses, sometimes. This was one of those times.
I guess there’s a joke in here somewhere… sure would have been nice if I was let in on it.

08 – Outrag…fabulous – Did somebody hit pause on the music at the end? That’s as good as a signature point (4) Ghosting: Point (6)

09 – iPhone it in – Do I need to add yet another signature point?: If you’re going to use a text overlay- have the bloody text stand out.
Also- ghosting; you either need better video sources, or you need to use different editing software because this is ugly to look at and you’re arrogant for thinking you can get away with it.

10 – Ald…no – Wow, five whole frames. Point (5)

Entries 02, 03, 05,11 – No suggestions for improvements or glaring errors to point out with these, they just didn’t tickle me/ were boring, like the rest.

The vast majority of this didn't do anything for me, though I think that's more because of the restriction in using sources from this year than anything else. I like cutting edge technology and developments, but not cutting edge society and pop culture. Anyway, here's my first attempt at a full list commentary. I generally try to avoid this because I don't think I'm that great of an editor myself to be pointing things out, but I believe I've actually been looking at this stuff long enough now to spot some of the flaws. Even if I'm guilty of doing some of them myself.

1. Primarily I give props to Zarx for linking this clip up with #2, that was mildly amusing. As far as the clip itself, it's very meh. Again, I think this has more to do with my not liking recent sources than anything else.

2. Gotta back N.P.C.C. here, the lyrics were not matched up to the clip well in the majority of places. I'm not familiar with the anime either, so that also hurts it. It might have had potential if those two things weren't in play.

3. No idea what the hell this is trying to accomplish. Yet again, probably due to my lack of familiarity with the sources.

4. It looks like there was an attempt at lip syncing, but the execution definitely needs work. The energy level of the video seems far lower than that of the song. I believe you would have done far better to use more shots showing action or motion than trying to lip sync in the first place.

5. It's okay for what it is, which is a clip set to a Nickelback song. Probably could have shortened it up a bit, but even then it would still just be mediocre.

6. Before I found where my vote was going, I was thinking it was going to this. Mostly because I think it was just amusing syncing up a violin to an electric guitar. They synchronization could have been just a little bit tighter, but overall I don't think it's bad.

7. Yet another victim of my lack of knowledge on current sources. I can't say if this is good or bad, because I have no idea what is happening.

8. Not a bad entry, just not one for me. Even aside from being a modern song, this genre just isn't one I listen to. Someone else will probably like it more than I do.

9. My vote went to 9, as it was the only one to get a laugh out of me. I do think it went on a bit too long though. I understand the idea of trying to sync to the commercial, but really the iPhone bit at the end adds absolutely nothing to the humor of the clip. You could have cut it half way through and been good.

10. Again, no idea what the **** this is from or what is going on. Even looking at the source info, I can't place it without googling. Am I just old for not keeping up with this ****?

11. Not horrible, but it probably would have been made better with a different video source. Something with more shots of sick people with their symptoms done up to extremes for humor. Not that I know of any off hand that would have been released this year.

I knew from the start that I wouldn't be entering this one. A year is far too short of a time span to have much of a selection for anything good at any point past 2000. Every once in a while you'll find a gold nugget in the pile of **** that comes out, but most of what we get now a days is the latter.

Hahaha, it's so nice to see you celebrate Innocents' Day too, Zarx! (Us Catholics celebrate it on the 28, though.) For a second, I thought these bland entries were really Challenge 31.

Hehehehe...heh...*sigh* Let's get this over with.

1. As much as I think that song is garbage, I'm not going to hold it against you. That's not what I'm here for. The letterboxing, however, is all on you darling. Rather mediocre overall.

2. Hmm, that's shoddy lipsync right there. Work it up. Aside from that, you could work on having more consistency in your visuals. Around the same as 1, but less sophisticated.

3. Lazy work: washed out video quality; very limited, overused scenes. Quite the disappointment you are.

4. What are you trying to tell me? Just because there's a girl and an animal and the song talks about that doesn't mean it magically fits. You had to make it fit, and you failed this time. Don't make a habit out of it. Lipsync is practically nonexistent, though I can see you at least tried to make the timing work. So, brush up on your craftsmanship hard, eh? The road's as arduous as you want to make it.

5. Good enough for an AMV, I suppose. That's saying little, though. You could argue that it is an allegory of AMV Minis Challenge, but let's face it: I just made that up for you, so no points there. No comedy and very little to show.

6. Now, this is something more solid. Though yes, violin where there's no violin heard in the audio is off-putting. Not to mention that the fade out shouldn't be there. Use the transition, goddamnit! Well done.

7. I don't get it. What I do get is that N.P.C.C. is probably eating up his words regarding the use of subtitles right now. Nonetheless, I don't have to get the reference to realise that there's very little going for this clip.

8. This one has more rhythm to it than most of the rest. It has room for improvement in a bunch of places, though. Somewhat decent.

9. Want to talk about an attempt at comedy in this Challenge? This is the clip I would point out to. Somewhat amusing, alright.

10. You're all over the place. Get yourself together and then try again.

11. You could certainly have done a better job with showing ebola, rather than just telling me about it. Disappointing.

Then you shouldn't have contributed in the first place. That's an option, you know. I didn't, and it was the right choice. Prudence is not only going to improve the average quality of your work, but also improve you as a person.

This round's a miss, overall. Gee guys, you didn't have to go back to sucking just so you could give me something to tear to shreds as a late Christmas gift, though I appreciate the sentiment.

1 was decent, but felt too similar to one of the Jojo's skits in 6.66

3 wasn't bad, but I felt a better fitting anime would have worked better. there was one ep of Golden Time that comes to my mind I feel might have worked better, but that ep didnt air in 2014

6 bugged me for a couple reasons.
first off: taking a song and mashing it with someone playing a musical instrument? not like that hasn't been done before >>
second: I feel using a rock song with someone playing a violin doesn't match up to me, though I can't complain 100% since guitars and violins are string instruments

7 is referencing the Hunger Games latest movie, I've seen Persona 4 Golden as well and they're just freaking out at the TV. Should have been shorter with them freaking out and the pay off was weak, subtitles wouldn't have changed that.

My entry was rejected due to the audio actually being from 2007, as I was trying to emulate BATMETAL using JBA:Stardust Crusaders.
