I got that virus again, the one that disables everything, had to do another system restore. AVG and Malwarebytes failed to catch it, and I'm pretty sure this one isn't the exact same one as before because when I checked the processes in task manager it was a whole new set of random letters. Once again, I got attacked by this thing on Newgrounds, but I don't know why it waits till I'm viewing that particular site to do its evil. Is there anything I can do in internet settings to keep it from gaining so much control?

It's possible, but Newgrounds checks all uploaded flash animations and games for that kind of stuff, so that's what makes this so odd . .

It's where a large percentage of the internet's amusing flash animations and games originate, and has a ton of entertaining original content.

Be nice, that site has served me well in the past! I just need to go down to Best Buy, talk to their nerds, and figure out what kind of defenses I need to set up for my computer. Maybe I should upgrade from Vista to Windows 7?

all i can say is get malware bytes, spybot search and destroy plus your antivirus, update all of them, then put your computer in safe mode and run all the scans =/ its cleared that virus off my computer 3 times before and i havnt gotten it again in 7 months

A user on Newgrounds suggested I stop using IE and start using Google Chrome. I don't know how that'll make it harder to get the virus, but I'm giving it a shot. I don't much care for Chrome, but I'll use it just for Newgrounds.

main thing is IE is (at least for the moment) the most commonly used browser out there so people have figured out various ways to trick IE into downloading viruses onto your computer

also you might have a trojan downloader if it keeps coming back i had one of those it was hiding in my anti-virus software (last time i use norton)

if you want to be 100% sure you are rid of the virus wipe your hard drive and re-install the OS
