I'm running Fedora 7, with VLC version 0.8.6c. I can open up the dvd just fine, but I can't get any sound to play. Any ideas?

Have you ever used VLC to play anything else? If not, perhaps VLC's audio is configured to use the wrong audio device or subsystem.
No, I haven't tried using VLC for anything else. I'll go ahead and try that and report back.

I cant remember how the audio was encoded, but it's either uncompressed PCM or mp2. VLC shouldnt have a problem with either, so its probably an issue with the setup.
Apparently, something was wrong with the entire system's sound, as I couldn't even hear youtube... A simple reboot fixed the problem. Thanks for the help.
