I dunno, there's evidence that people said it starting sucking in Season 4. Personally, a lot of episodes seem to age better with time, or at least don't sting as much with later viewings. Watching Season 13 on DVD, the Lisa Becoming Buddhist episode wasn't quite on par with others but surely isn't super-terrible. On the flipside episodes of that season that I forgot or never watched were hilarious, like Brawl in the Family.

The Sadgasm grunge episode's gonna be a pain to sit through again come DVD/Blu-ray release come years from now, I'll bet.
