Nah, only thing I play on the DS is the pokemon RPG's and Digimon World DS. I don't play much else, so a 3DS would just be a waste of money for me. besides I've never really been to into the whole 3D craze going around.

My reasons actually have nothing to do with the specs. It's just that they almost always come out with better versions of the same console, and I'd rather wait for that better version. Plus, like I said earlier, I just bought a DSi XL less than a month ago. I don't want to feel like I wasted my money on the DSi XL :S.

I'm gonna trade in my DSi (which is on the fritz at the moment but all it has to do is past muster at gamestop) and off-set the cost a little. and I probably will buy the enhanced version with the better battery life when it comes out ( better be in matte to)

I bought the XL over the regular DSi mainly because of the bigger screen. Also, I got the special, limited edition bundle red one. :P

I'd love to but I'm not really sure what games i'd want. Ocarina of Time's the only launch title that grabs me, though I'm really wanting Kid Icarus and Metal Gear Solid 3.

No way, the nomad got like 1-2 hours of use out of 6 AA batteries.
Only time I ever played my Nomad was when I was near an outlet :p

Meh, the idea of 3D on a handheld does interest me. But it's gonna be a long, LONG way before I reach $250. I'd buy Mario Kart 3DS, Zelda; Ocarina 3D, Harmonix Music Project (I am a huge music game nerd. =P), Final Fantasy 3DS, and I'd import Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance (I still have yet to play Birth By Sleep, Re:Coded, & 358/2 Days due to lack of handheld consoles. >_>).

The fact that KH3D is only going to be released in Japan pisses off some of my friends. XD

M. Night Shamamamalamadingdong just realized when he was done that 3D was making lots of money, so he did a quick (and terrible) 3D conversion- something that makes your movie look like ****.

If you want to make a 3D movie, you REALLY need to film it in 3D- i.e. with 2 cameras, one for each eye. You shouldn't take a movie that's already made and try to force it into 3D, it never turns out well.

That's what happens when you aren't an early adopter. All systems get replaced eventually, and the longer you wait around, the closer you are to the release of the next one. Its a losing battle, so just buy them right away.

And I could care less if a new model comes out later. The original will still have great resell value. I only paid like $20 for my ds lite after I sold my original ds on ebay.

I've read that regular DS games get more battery life. Kind of like how GBA games get more battery life on a DS.

Good idea, I've also read it is is kind of awkward to play DS games on the 3DS because of its D Pad placement.

Not really, GBA games only got more battery life because one entire screen isn't used, though everything else that gets power still gets it. This means that the 3D screen will still be running though it won't be rendering in the 3D, while this does save power, as though you'd turned 3D settings to minimum you're still picking up maybe an extra hour from it.

seems that he never played SNES, PSX, N64 etc...

Now games like MW 2, Black Ops, GoW etc, are just overrated sh*t... nothing like DKC or FF 7, with such "primitive" technology develope games with excellent graphics, good gameplay, good story and challenging...

There is nothing revolutionary... for example, Doom that implemented the FPS system, then Goldeneye 007 improved it a lot... Tomb Raider, the male was changed by a female... International Superstar soccer Deluxe, I've played A LOT of soccer games, and is still the same that ISSD.

Ah OoT will be shovelware.....good to know. I dont need another copy since I have the cart I got in 1998. Whats new with the MGS3 port? Is it shovelware as well? If so, I'll stick with my PS2 disc, which has Metal Gear 1 and 2. I dont know if I'll be getting the 3DS right away since it seems much of its opening lineup is shovelware. And yes, I had an SNES back in the day, scratch that, I still do. Same with my Genesis, NES, I even had a big fat gameboy. I am bunt out on Call of Duty (call of doody, amirite?) at the moment.

don't count on it nintendo will probably be incredibly tight lipped on the detail of the battery. besides im guessing they're using just about the best type of battery the can use with the 3ds
