Hey guys i know i haven't posted in quite some time :( but i've been real busy QQ. But I have been lurking :D
I have a few laptops in mind but wanted to know your guys' thoughts and opinions or deal finders or what ever you choose to post in this topic or choose to not post in this topic xD
anyways this would be my MAIN computer but i do have a gaming desktop at home (I'm in college and live at college).
Projection laptop?:
256 SSD ~(o la la solid state drive i have externals harddrives (over 1 TB) so not too worried about space)
>4GB DDR3 ~of ram prefer 8+GB but old one had 4GB
intel 7i quad core ~ not up-to-date on processors so idk?
lighted keyboard ~(hehe not required but is nice at night xD (have one for my gaming desktop))
audio card: anything but integrated ~(but integrated isn't that bad)
>ATI radeon HD 3200 ~ (its was my graphics card of my old laptop so looking for upgrade xD)
>13" display ~old laptop was 17" but i don't think i would mind downgrading as long as it was bigger than 13"
thanks :) all input is welcome

Um don't really have a price range atm, I'm not rich (poor actually) but I use my laptop a lot so I don't mind spending a lill extra. If looking for better reply then I would like a reply in the categories of any of the following but please specify which :) :
Best bang for my buck
And
Unlimited budget
And
Best under 1000 ish
(hopefully that's not confusin)

Some advice. Stay the hell away from Acer and don't install ****loads of gig eating programs since a laptop is not mean't to take the place of a home computer, trust me I made my laptop do stuff that was meant for a higher end desktop computer and it only lasted a year. **** melted inside from the strain of running all that stuff.

omfg SSD is sick!
only need 4 gigs of RAM on a laptop really, unless you really plan on
pushing that thing for gaming
Intel I7 quad core is a beast but will easily overheat in a laptop, dont you dare think about overclocking!
might get expensive, but not so bad, MSI has some nice sound cards
RADEON HD 3200 is crap for gaming, I got a HD 5670 so a barely squeek by with DX11 for future compatibility, but its still a beast card. Im pretty sure you would wanna go NVIDIA if your going Intel, so try for a GT(X) 220 at the bare minimum
the smaller the screen size = smaller resolution = easier on your GFX card. which is already crammed in there in all the heat.
I HIGHLY recommend looking around Newegg.com for the best laptop for your dollar. make sure you get one with good reviews!
GET A COOLING PAD!!! it will save your computers life when you start pushing that thing as it will get VERY hot! (CPU will get to upwards of 70 Celcius)

I would check Asus, Msi, they have some nice stuff with kick at some good prices. If you want more control over the build take a look at AVA Direct. I can on and on with all sort of idea's but maybe some of this will help a little.

If I were you Id save your money and get rid of the SSD cause its not gonna do you any good on gaming with a radeon hd 3200 so your not gonna see much difference in general computing speeds on a SATA HDD.
SSD's are for ppl who shoot wads of data in a heartbeat, gaming is one and HEAVY media editing is another and just because it says SSD & SATA 3Gb doesnt mean it will run at those specs and in most cases they never do.

You know thats not a rule or true in the slightest. If that were true they wouldn't make laptops with dual/tri screens, dual gpus, and shove quad/hex cores in them and some are actually water cooled. Your problem was either due to bad design or you covered the exhaust/intake vents. Now laptops are not meant to be put on your lap thats just a coined name for its form factor as it can fit on your lap.
form factors: UMPC(6")<Netbook(6" to 12")<Notebook(12" to 15")<Laptop(15" on up) Form factors are usually measured by screen size. These change every year I think sub notebook fits in there somewhere and a few others.
I use to own a UMPC, She was so cute... I miss my lovely OQO 01+. She was so cute she had an exhaust fan the size of a nickel and a 1.8" harddrive

MAC: for graphics and everything that isnt fun. why do people recommend them? because they are well-built and it makes the hipsters feel less douche-y if you have one just like them.
its not entirely true that you dont need a SSD. a guy put a SSD into a PS3 and it greatly improved performance and a PS3 has quite dated hardware at this point.
go a head and get a SSD but only put your most-used data on it, makes sense amirite?

This :P I can't tell you how many laptops I know of this has killed.
They need to be on a flat surface. Generally, they have rubber feet to keep the laptop slightly raised to provide better circulation that way.

Mac's great because everything is proprietary, software all the way down to hardware. That means everything is guaranteed run perfectly cause the software was programmed and designed to run on that specific hardware alone. Macs are for people who dont wanna deal with bull**** and just wanna get **** done cause the damn thing just works XD. Now Im not a Mac fanboy its just Mac's do have their place in the world even tho the apple company is ran like a woman on her period. Constantly bitchy to other companies like adobe, Reason flash isnt on some of their products. Also their hardware is outlandishly over priced, I guess you can call it paying for their "proprietary service"

I would like to start of this post by thanking everyone fo their input so far, thanks :D . As a report I haven't found anything that sticks out yet but I think I've found that I prefer 1080p resolution xD. And yes I do agree I need a better graphics card then the one listed in my original post, that's why there's a > symbol there that was my old graphics card and I did not like it at all :K
Nipple I have a SNES does that count >_<?

Well I like the sound of the first one, it will be a beast, the optimus and the smaller screen will help save some battery but I wonder how it will be on batterys. I have an older Dell XPS 1730 maxed out and it eats the battery like candy but it stays pluged in all the time. So whats the prices you've come up with so far?

hmm I wouldent worry so much on the screen size having to be 1920x1080px in most cases it will probably be over that rez if its bigger than 15". Id just grab that most hardware packed lappy thats at a decent small form factor size. Because if your using this as a desktop replacement im pretty sure you'll be using an external monitor, Kbd, Mouse at a desktop environment where screen size of your lappy isnt a factor unless you use it as a secondary display.
I dont know about you but I dont like an 8lb lappy on top of a cooling plate sitting on my lap to watch a movie or any media for that matter. If it was sitting on a desk maybe but viewing angles on laptop LCD's suck and always will cause its expected that you'll always have the laptop centerd and within arms reach for viewing so they save money on sub par manufacturing and in turn keeps the lappy cheap. Its also a plus cause it keeps ppl from spying on your screen from the side which makes it easier for watching porn in an airport terminal and getting away with it XD. In my own preference Ill watch a 1080 downscaled onto a 1024x800px screen on a underpowered 2lb netbook on my lap before I watch it on my buddies 9lb action packed to the brim george forman of a grill laptop sitting on top of a cooling plate on my lap cause that damn thing will burn your nuts off.
Now it isnt always that the screen is going to be utter **** but as the old saying comes to mind you get what you pay for. Theres a reason when ppl buy laptops that things like LCD Response Time, Contrast Ratio, Viewing Angle Specs arn't stated on the box all the time so Its a nice gerneral rule to not expect it to be as good as a 200-300 dollar desktop monitor.
Now Keep in mind that its just a computer thats sole utilitarian design is to be portable so dont expect a home theater or gaming system out of the poor thing. Reason I say this is because ppl like god to be shoved inside portable objects and manufactures hear their call but its not as always as it seems. Manufactures cut corners too and the LCD is the first thing then other stupid tactics are things like "WOW this lappy has dual GPU's thats 10 times better than my desktops" well NO not quite. While the actual hardware maybe faster than your desktops the actual speed of the hardware is cut down by the manufacturer and its usually due to temperature control or heavy battery strain. This is known as either "Scaling" or "throttling", They do this to both GPU and CPU so do some back research on the product before you commit to buy.
An example is my netbook, The internal GFX is throttled back and the CPU is scaled. Scaling isnt a bad thing but can cause problems like lags and hangs. What my netbook does is scale the cpu down 800mhz when in idle and scales it to 1.6Ghz when I give it **** to do. while this does save battery life, Programs sometimes dont like speed changes. I have no control over the cpu scaling since its all built into the actual cpu and it is listed as a feature. Now the GPU is purposely throttled back, it specs out at 400mhz core clock but is taken down to 200mhz to save battery life and this isnt stated on the box XD. Cool thing is that I can throttle it up to its spec speed by a 3rd party program but I dont like to be ****ed in the ass by manufactures so I want my options goddamnit my battery consumption rate is my concern not the manufacturers.
