I figured since AMV Hell 3 was the reason I started watching anime I should start a thread about just that.
Far as I am concerned, the highest level of success a clip can achieve is making somebody who's never seen the anime watch it.
What animes have you watched because of an AMV Hell clip and which clip(s) was/were it/they?
I don't feel a need to list mine since 95% of the anime I've seen I specifically watched because it was in AMV Hell, mainly AMV Hell 3.
Battle Angel, Berserk, Excel Saga, I know there is more but I cant think of them now.

I have an entire list of animes (53 total) that I either want to watch or have watched all because of AMV Hell. I think I have watched 19 thus far :)
I couldn't name the clips if I tried though, there are too many for me to go through!

I think aside from Saiyuki, Vampire Hunter D, Tenjho Tenge, Samurai Champloo and Ah! My Goddess all the anime I've seen I watched cause I saw it in AMV Hell and thought it looked interesting, funny or I just wanted to understand the jokes.
Berserk (2nd anime series I ever watched)
Cowboy Bebop
Trigun
Fist of the North Star
Excel Saga
Azumanga Daioh
Love Hina
Tenchi Muyo (Still watching this one)
Grenadier
Golden Boy
Chobits
Ranma 1/2 (Still watching this one)
Full Metal Alchemist (Still need to finish this one)
Akira
There's probably others that I can't remember, I wanna try to see every anime in 3 excluding anything by Hyao Miyuzaki (Because I don't care for his work) and the cartoony stuff like Sonic and those kinds of clips. Course some I won't watch cause they are only in Japanese.

The other way around for me. Watched AMV Hell because I had watched so much anime.
A coworker of mine pointed out that I should watch something called "Afro Samurai." Watched over 60 series since then. I think I have seen one of each genre. I looked for new stuff to watch at TVtropes.org. The "gorn" section is a good start. After that, anything I see mentioned often.
It's a good thing; AMV Hell 4 relies on the audience having actually seen the Susumiya Haruhi show, as well as a number of others.

I love AMV Hell just for the fact that it single handedly turned me from a part time closet anime fan into a full on otaku. The anime I watched because of it was; The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star, One Piece, Naruto, FLCL, Mahou Sensei Negima, and Dokuro Chan, to name a few. I can't remember the clips specifically, except for Negima, which got me interested with the Magic Stick clip in AMV Hell 3. Oh, and the Come to Daddy clip in 4 made me watch Lucky Star, oddly enough.

I love AMV Hell cuz some clips do a nice way of bitch-slapping regular anime by crossing it with American culture XD

Lucky Star.
I remember hearing about it, but it looked incredibly bad, so I didn't watch it. Later, I saw it in AMV Hell 4. Soon after, I thought, "This show can't be that bad." Unfortunately, I watched it and it was ****ty beyond belief.

Solely because of AMV Hell I have seen The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Azumanga Daioh, Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-Chan and Elfen Lied. Plus just about all of the ones on my 'To watch' list are on there due to AMV Hell clips.

Like others have said I've watched to many to count.
But the thing I love about Hell is learning of new anime and discovering songs I'd never heard before or that I haven't heard in forever.
While getting a laugh out of it.

Inverse - I had to watch Rozen Maiden in order to make the AMV for Hell 5; the concept of the clip was made without ever watching it.
Bit of a painful week...

Haruhi Suzumiya
And I think "When They Cry" (Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni)
But the Hell series is probably the reason why I got SO many of my old favorites on DVD.
Oh snap, I just realized something. Has there been no Big O clips in the series?
Time to brainstorm.

I honestly think I ran out of animes to watch because of AMV Hell. Any I knew before were there, and any I discovered on my own time were shown after I watched them, and anything I had not seen I've checked out at some point.
God...I think this is why we need to incorporate more video games into AMV Hell.

Mh....actually I never watched an anime because of AMV Hell.
Years ago I found a collection of AMV's from Maria of chocofansubs and I started to watch a few animes because of them.
Afterwards I found aniDB and since then it's been my one and only means of finding new animes. o_O

Pretty much all of them. I've seen all anime in AMV Hell, and most in 4 and 5. If I hadn't seen it already, I went out and found it.

Cat Soup: SSG's clip in AMV Hell 3 piqued my curiosity. It's an oddity, but the imagery is beautiful, and there's something melancholically moving about it.
Azumanga Daioh: (It's everywhere....)
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time: Partially because of the animation, and the jokes in AMV Hell 5. Another treasure.
Grave of the Fireflies: I originally thought it was a sequel to "Totoro" (or possibly a rip-off), since Kanta and Seita wear that same naval hat. I'm glad I explored a bit further and found out what it actually was.
Wolf's Rain: Well, seeing the clip made me more interested in seeing it when a friend offered the DVD to me.
And there are quite a few others I want to check out.
