I suppose the idea can be considered insane. The title was mostly to catch your eye.

to get to the point I had idea to bring a fan band to cons. My initial idea for a name for it is "the Doujin Wind Symphony". Pretty much it is a mixture of video games live and the Tan Dun's Youtube symphony. The idea is fans of anime and game series would come up with wind band arrangements of popular anime and game songs (proof read for quality) to be played by a wind band consisting of fans who auditioned to play. It would be conducted by myself or preferably someone more capable. It would play at Anime Expo initially and then if it catches on at other cons.

If you can't see the technicalities of this idea, well look harder. My question is would you dig it to see amateur musicians playing songs such as "Libera me" from hell, The Dragon Ball Z opening, Touhou song, vocaloid songs, and quite possibly Final Fantasy Music?

I am totally willing to (make an attempt to xD) write the music. I don't play any wind instruments, but I can try and whip something up as far as writing the parts go, but I'm pretty busy >.>; (read "lazy")

I don't have many accounts on anime sites. I mostly wanted to get an idea of what kind of reaction a community like this would have to this idea. If you have no experience orchestrating for wind instruments than I don't suggest trying to orchestrating for them. They can be pretty finicky if you don't know their abilities and ranges.

Oh, don't worry, I wouldn't do it on my own. I used to be a band geek way back when, I know plenty of winds that could help me xD
