You left out Windows ME :(

Yeah, Windows ME was da' bomb, yo! The only reason I ever upgraded to XP was I did a reformat and lost the key to ME. That was back in '03. I cried myself to sleep over loosing ME like that... :'(

@RainSaga
well said!

but, i think 2000 is the best version, next one is XP Prof, then 98, 95.
but i use Linux (openSUSE 10.2), too. (and of course Knoppix! the awesomest
OS ever, the best thing on it: you don?t need a HDD, you can boot it from DVD,
i used it for 3 months ago, my MFT data was crashed :( but Knoppix is full of
life-saving tools and functions ;D )

Voted XP Pro FTW. It had everything you needed: good look with good compatibility: something you just don't get these days...

BTW, you do know that Longhorn was just a codename for Vista (back in the day), right?

i thought Lornhorn was dropped, and they developed their
Vista of the basis of Longhorn. (or something like that)
Lornghorn was a study, nothing more.

And, the point goes to Behemoth666. Thus concludes this episode of Jeopardy!

I chose 3.1 because im running 3.11 on my ?30? year old laptop and i really never get any error messages. REALLY hard to find games for it and it has a 56k dialup modem so yeah... my laptop isnt very good but i like my 3.11
but right now im on my desktop which runs home edition of xp... xp is good but my computer sucks explicit... cant even play halo...

You might as well voted for DOS because that's all 3.1 was anyway. DOS + GUI = Windows 3.1
Unfortunately, that formula continued for a while even with newer OSs.

Actualy longhorn was microsoft version of windows that thay were planning on before vista.
Microsoft says that the code basing (winfs) was not good enough...so thay killed longhorn and added features and graphics to windows server 2003 and this is vista.

I remember the OS for Windows 95... it was ass, to be sure. But it was my first computer so it was my ass. Now I've got XP and enjoy ripping on people for upgrading to Vista. Linux is good but its for nerds, not anime nerds like me but computer nerds, who are generally more successful as the object of their nerdom is also their job usually.

Several years ago I used to be a self titled thread necromancer on a site I spent a lot of time on... the REAL trick is to revive a thread and have it remain alive...
