1) Uninstall all codecs and MPC with settings
2) Download K-Lite Codec Pack "Full" or "Mega" and install
http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
Right settings for install:

Not understand.
Codecs - not actual problem for this site users or what?

Guthix meant "He asked you "Why did you post this" not "Where"

When you said "And... where I had to post it?" It seemed like you read Pain's comment incorrectly.

VLC? This thread about codecs and right K-Lite's and ffdshow's settings for any video to display properly. Who said anything about VLC media player? Use MPC/WMP/KMP/VLC/Gom/BS/LA/WinAmp - It's your choice and problems with their settings.

I was referring to VLC's, for lack of a better term, horribleness and needs for constant maintenance, whilst most other media players don't need as much attention . We all use the Combined Commnity Codec Pack here, which is beautiful.

I have not problems with VLC (have with linked video only), maybe you use bad codecs or don't know how to install them right?

VLC is just ****. Even with the aid of Codecs, it still falls into the ****-tier category of media players.
This picture will explain the reasons.

Use other player - it's you choice, I use KMP in XP, and MPC in 7
Thread about codecs only and I think that the CCCP was not better than the K-Lite.

FFDShow 1.1.3574.0
MPC-HC 1.4.2543.0
Haali 1.10.262.12

K-Lite 7.1.0 2011-04-04 (latest version)

FFDShow 1.1.3800.0

Download BS Player if you don't want to have problems with Codecs. It supports every video/music codec and if you don't have them, it automatically downloads them from the internet,

And it's free.
