Now i primarily use AVS video editor 5.2 but i have this little problem where i can't seem to get the audio timeline to work. I know it's not muted and i tried re installing the program but nothing has changed. I have a little workaround which is basically placing the audio file as an avi file in an overlay timeline and moving the video out of focus to fake an audio timeline but that's obviously gonna cause problems down the road for me.

Also, i purchased a video capture device and it came with a free copy of ulead video studio 10. Should i abandon AVS all together and just learn it instead?

I used to use that. I made one video with it and then abandoned it in favor of Cyberlink Power Director 10.

I do suggest Sony Vegas 10.0 with Boris Continuum Complete, but that's just cause I know the program really well. Others that I've tried and sorta liked were Pinnacle Movie Studio and Corel Video Studio, but I always came back to Vegas. It was just more user friendly to me. I also keep returning to Adobe After Effects and Premier, but I suck at adobe programs.
