I wouldn't say better, just different. I'm a huge fan of R.V.B. (even got the D.V.D.s) and AMV Hell, and it seems that their goals overall are different (apart from entertainment). R.V.B. tells a story, whereas AMV Hell parodies, lampoons, mocks, honors and etc. pop culture. It's okay to like one more than the other, but they really aren't even in the same category, so comparison isn't really that easy.

halo is lamer than your mom at otakon, and i'll tell you why...THE ENDING OF HALO 3 was the biggest cop out EVER. I won't spoil anything other than to say the earth should have exploded and the arb. should have killed m. chief, removed his helmet only to realize it is himself...or something retarded like that. BUT NO, it had to end all franchise-ish and potentially lead to furthur . chief installments. if this turns into another metroid and we are playing the games for 47 1/2 years, i might cry (or grav. hammer myself to death).

(cracks knuckles) Alright, let's split some hairs.

Technically, you couldn't really call it "Doc's" gag to begin with. He merely gives the Blues the fodder they need to perpetuate the joke further (first Caboose's misunderstanding, then Tucker's, then Church's akward clarification).
Regardless, it's a brilliant joke, with a level of crassness that wouldn't be touched until the introduction of Sister in season five.

Red Vs. Blue is lame.. and based off the most overrated game in America. Sure they thought about the jokes and spent some time making the videos... but the AMV Hell series takes much more work and consideration.

Loosely based, first of all. Secondly, it's okay if you don't like it. Yeah, maybe RVB isn't as difficult to make as AMVs are, but you have to consider the level of effort they put into script writting and character development (which you would if you were, you know, a fan).

I never really liked sister. I don't know why. Still, you have to admit, the ending to RVB was kind of retarded, in that there were three. Not to spoil anything for anyone else but Episode 100c was the only real funny one. "New Map!"

Can't be sure which ones you're talking about; can only assume you haven't seen the "happy" ending (check out the D.V.D.).

No, I got that: the "New Map" ending, the "Everybody you-know-what's" ending, and the one where all the "you know whats" show up. There was also an ending (the main one on the D.V.D.) where... well, you know....

Obviously, I don't know. I've never bought a DVD of RVB, just done the online thing (though, in my defense, I am a sponsor). RVB was funny, yes, but I actually like The Strangerhood better. I may just be wierd like that, but I was caught off-guard more times in the Strangerhood's short span than I did with RVB's 103 episode span. I did like the PSAs much more, though.

I actually prefered "1-800-Magic". Now there was a show cut down in its prime.

Also, UNOwen, it was 100 episodes of RvB, with a 5 episode mini series and random PSAs throughout.

It was 103 MAIN episodes (There were 4 "Episode 100"s, three downloadable and the one on the DVD). I didn't really like the Out of Mind spinoff, so I'm glad there were only 5. As for the PSAs, I have already stated my love for them. The Strangerhood had some good PSAs as well. there's more to a series than PSAs though.

Technically, you're right. Still, I don't think having a different ending is enough to qualify it as a different episode.
Also sorry to hear of your dislike for the mini-series, because from what I hear, there's a new one up on X-Box live. Almost makes me wish I had an X-Box.

UNOwen

you can't like everything. And, yes, different endings took different turns. If, out of 20 min, 25% was different, then it is considered a new episode.

Ur right... but still I don't agree with the loosely based... cause it's not...

UNOwen
11-02-2007, 04:06 AM
Sorry, but AMVP gets the point for "loosely based". There isn't much about Halo in RVB besides the armor of the characters. If I am not mistaken, they mention Master Chief once, maybe. RVB deals with no the war of humans vs aliens, but just humans vs humans, one team who favors the color red, the other who favors the color blue. Saying RVB is based on Halo is like saying The Strangerhood is based on The Sims or that AMV Hell 3 is based on Azumanga Daioh.

AMVP
11-02-2007, 05:05 AM
Well, the last season makes some mention of the war between humans and aliens, but whether or not it is the same one from the games is up to the viewer's imagination.

Actually, the point of the photo was the "Mission accomplished" banner in the background. I really don't have any sort of political message to spread. I didn't like either choice in the last election, so because I didn't vote, I don't feel I have any right to really complain. Richardson in '08, though! Political debate, however, is not my cup of tea, so I don't have anything else to say beyond that.
