What a ****ty search engine.
The first PC my family ever owned came packaged with altavista as default, and i have used it ever since. You can't **** on altavista, it does everything well. So if you are looking to diversify your intraweb experience, check out altavista.com and be amazed.

I've never moved passed Yahoo!. I get what I need. If I need something "questionable" in nature, I go to AltaVista.

Google works for me.
Alta Vista started out as a search engine for personal home pages, and that was when I found it the most useful...when it used to access the little stuff that doesn;t make it to the big search engines. I used to like Dogpile, too, but then they sold out to porn advertisers.
Now Google is my first choice.

I've been here once in a while. But, my parents needed a new PC plus a house sitter while they were away. So, I sat on their house, building a computer (because friends don't let friends get "brand-name" computers). That didn't take so long. It was just the tedious task of recovering their old data form a dying hard drive (about 150GB worth of pics, movies, music, etc.). More suspenseful than walking backwards naked though a dark room filled with queers on Valentines Day. Things got hairy quite a few times, but I got through without getting screwed. Whoever wants to drink to that: Bottoms Up! Oh, that sounded REALLY bad considering the context... :o

Leave it to UNOwen to make something as simple as rebuilding a computer into something much more hilarious and awkward...keep up the good work

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400 Windsor, Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3 1000MHz FSB, 2GB RAM, 320 GB HDD, Dual Samsung 18x Lightscribe DVD Burners, FDD, BFG Geforce 7900 GT 256MB, 380 Watt "80+" PSU, XP Pro.
Yeah, I had to throw in the floppy drive mainly pecause my Dad is a technophobe. He would actually much rather me attept to revive his old 286 with Win 95 (which WON'T use high-speed internet) because HE says it never crashed. I say it never crashed because he never USED it. My sister is into pictures, downloading music, and is starting to get into video editing (though she doesn't really ever have time to do much) so I figure this will get what they need done. And, at under $500 for the whole build, I'd say the price is mighty fine, too.

under 500 is great, wich i built my system for that...damn newegg (haha)
