Is there anyone besides me who writes fan fiction?

I write for (you guessed it) the Azumanga Daioh fandom on FFN. If you are an author, post your fandom and an example of your work.

I write fan fic, but rarely anime-based fan fic....though I have dashed off a little Excel Saga fic or two to amuse people at excelsagaforum.com and also have made pseudo-translations for an Excel doujinshi "dub." (IE: none of us read Japanese, we're just filling in the balloons as amusingly as we can.) The group collaboration of the Anglification of Excellency is due to be released in a week or so.

But my real fan-fic work is in Harry Potter. I write the semi-famous parody/satire series Hogwarts Staff Meeting (http://www.cosforums.com/showthread.php?t=3617) and am writing a next-generation novel-length story called The ASP at Hogwarts (http://www.cosforums.com/showthread.php?t=110679).

I also have an Excel Saga parody roughly written, which I'd love to draw as a comic, but I have only so much free time.

I've started a couple short stories, which haven't really gotten anywhere, and I have this religious parody in my head I'd like to explore.

However, I've been working on this one thing for a good year and, though it was originally planned to be a short story, it's currently sitting at around 74 pages (12pt TNR, single-spaced, Word document).

I really don't know how it got that long.

If I ever did do fan fiction, it'd probably be (aside from horrible) from either Outlaw Star or Hellsing.

I have a few story ideas on religeon too, though it's mostly thematic as opposed to satiracle in nature. While I'm always a bit wary of religeous satire, I'd recommend the Cerebus series (especially the Church and State story arch). Maybe you'll get some ideas.

As for fan-fiction goes, I'm pretty much neutral on the subject, as I've never had any serious encounters with it.

Well, the basis of this parody/satire would be the idea of a "compartmentalized" heaven. That is, all heavens believed in by all religions exist, and the story would build from there.

As far as delivery goes, I was thinking of telling it from the point of view of a dead man walking around the various heavens and talking to one of the angels (likely Gabriel, just because).

I'll check out that series, though, as I'm a little strapped for reading material lately.

When Foggle posts it, I will post an announcement and a link here in the Off-Topics. :) I think he claimed a release date of Nov 15th, but one of the collaborators vanished without doing his chapter, so Foggle's doing it himself at the last minute. Don;t know if it will be up on schedule.

If I'd have thought of it, I could have recruited here for collaborators for him. As it is, several of us have done more than one chapter. It was originally planned that a different person would do each.
