Scores over 170 aren't possible using conventional iq tests much less one taken on the internet. People with iqs over 145 need to take specialized tests in order to get anything close to an accurate evaluation. It doesn't matter if you answer all the logic puzzles correctly in 1 second, you still will not reach a score like that. On a side note, I believe the only living human with an IQ over 200 is the physicist Steven Hawking, arguably the smartest person to live this century (the Einstien vs Hawking debate ongoing.)

Internet IQ tests are a load of bull anyway. They give every one an above average score (115+) to entice them to purchase the expanded results to further flatter the person.
IQ tests also only measure one form of intelligence: logic. There are many facets to genius such as creativity, charisma and memory. I got a 130 on an online IQ test, I just don't care because so did everyone else.

Oh, and when you take any IQ test they ask your age to adjust your score, so taking it at any age will typically result in the same thing unless you do a lot of reading and puzzling, then your IQ may increase.

That is not what i meant... I simply meant that it is not possible to get an IQ of 280...

I doubt this effects anything on any test, and was probably created in a couple of hours.

OH REALLY? THEN WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IF I SAID IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO EXIST????

I'm not sure what Hawking's IQ level is, but I do know that a woman by the name of Marilyn vos Savant holds the Guinness world record for "Highest IQ." The term "savant," referring to an incredibly gifted person, is attributed to her name. Depending on the test you refer to, her IQ has been registered at a level somewhere between 168 and 230. Concerning Einstein: The most popular IQ level given to Einstein (that I've heard of, anyway) is somewhere in the ballpark of 160.

Regardless, online IQ tests are completely false and are not to be taken seriously. I personally have scored exactly 130 on every one I've ever taken (which is at least 4 tests). And yes, 280 is very impossible.

Seconded, want to increase rep. I've taken an online IQ test on Tickle, and my IQ on THERE was 103. My real IQ, according to a test I took when I was younger, is at around 140.

And just to let you guys know, IQ doesn't measure how smart you are; it measures how much POTENTIAL you have to be smart. Someone could have Stephen Hawking's IQ, but be a normal anime fan like ourselves. And NO, I'm not defending online tests. I'm sure mental health clinics offer these tests...

being trolled or trolling?

As Far as being trolled is, I don't think I am, unless I haven't read something in the forums as for trolling, maybe mildly, I wouldn't say I am trolling in this thread, cause im not insulting anyone in particular, but in other threads I have said some unpleasant fings.

I call bull on the whole test. Don't waste your time taking IQ tests on the internet, they're all lies.

Given that an IQ test is designed to have a Normal distribution and a center at 100 with a standard deviation of about 15, isn't it odd that nobody has claimed to have a sub-100 score?

Split Second
12-03-2007, 07:25 AM
Not a coincidence at all. Online IQ tests always give positive results because usually they are trying to sell something extra after the free service. And just as a comparison, a real paper and timed IQ test administered by professionals usually take a long time to complete, somewhere in the 1-2 hour range and even those aren't 100% accurate for some people. Most people don't take a real IQ test because it takes too long and they are afraid of being average. Well, I say you are as smart as you feel you are and some number isn't going to ruin or validate your self-esteem.

Oh, and Green I'm sorry I thought you were an "impostor" ^_^

We also can't verify what people actually scored. Someone with a low number could just say that had a higher one. Like 280.
