While I am not sure where to post a question like this I figured here is a good spot. While I do love to death the AMV's I see here and in many other places. I want to know what most of you use as far as editing programs go? Outside of Windows and other general stuff. what stuff do most of you avid editors like to use? Also what kind of techniques do you like to add?

ULead VideoStudio 11 PLUS for movie editing. I haven't used it to make AMVs yet, but I doubt it will let me down.
I use Freez DVD Ripper because I'm poor like that. It handles both encrypted and unencrypted and can rip to video formats other than DVD.
I'm not sure about effects just yet. Like I said, I'm still working on my first AMV, but I'll get back to you when it's done.

I used Sony Vegas to make my AMV (only 1 so far). I used Avidemux to cut and edit the video used. Had to run it through Windows Movie Maker to get the clips to work with Sony Vegas. Though I didnt use WMM's normal saving method, I used a method that didnt lose much, if any, quality. Then I used Aegisub to make the credits. And I used Vobsub with Virtualdub to mux it all together and encode it. Yea I probably took the really long road and could have done it simpler, but I do what works for me.

I've used both Adobe Premier and After Effects. Only a few of the AMVs I've seen really justify using a program as advanced as After Effects though; if you're just beginning I'd say don't even mess with it until you've mastered Premiere.
