My iPod (fifth generation) can't play .avi movies, and most conversion programs I try to use result in the audio falling out of sync with the video over time. Is there anyone who has suggestions on video converters I can use, or perhaps have an iPod ready version of AMV Hell 4 somewhere online with perfect audio/video sync?

you can try:
http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/
i find it works just fine, but remember, dont do anything that requires alot of the processors or ram, it needs those to create the files

I've found a few converters on google, but they all cost money, and the trial version only converts 70% of the file.

try heywatch.com
or
zamzar.com
I used this one:
http://www.download.com/Free-iPod-Video-Converter/3000-2194_4-10498771.html?tag=lst-1
It has better quality than all the retail converters, was easier to use than the retail converters, and best of all, it was free.

dont use it, ive used it it crashed my ipod from the converted file
I think thats a fluke case dude.. Cuz my Cucusoft retail version was really poor quality, AND after I converted it and imported it, it still said I needed to re-convert it using itunes.
But the free one is the best I've had so far.
