I got my first strike ever on YouTube because of that company. They took down my most popular video "Ash Rubs A Dewgong's Horn To Fitting Music", which was nearing 100 likes and 20,000 views. Since then I deleted all my other videos that contains their content because I don't want to give them the SATISFACTION of giving me more strikes. Has anyone else had problems like this before?

Man, that sucks. I'm still curious as to why i haven't gotten a strike yet for a certain Haruhi video i made...You sure you have no enemies on that site? Most of the time, the copy right claims filed are false and were used for the sole purpose of getting a user they hate banned.

Yep, I got one strike on my main LawRayLiet channel.
Which is why I now use "LawRayLietSafeAcct" (http://www.youtube.com/user/LawRayLietSafeAcct) as my channel for uploads.
On my previous account I made the mistake of including the Japanese names of the videos.
So some Japanese TV Broadcast company would easily find it and remove it.
Even SSGWNBTD most recent video was removed recently.
Maybe there doing an AMV sweep!!

Nah', if it was some guy who didn't like me for some reason, they would've reported the other videos at the same time they reported the Dewgong one, that way I would've gotten well over 3 strikes and my account would have been closed instantly. I'm not going to lose sleep over this, I still have 51 videos left. =p

I think that puts you in the clear (like me) when that happens as they profit from the video/throw ads around yet not remove it and your account stays clean. At least, i'm encouraged to believe such as the videos have been in that state for over a year and nothing has happened.

That happened with one of my Hellsing videos. I used an old song for it, but it was still under copyright. At first the video was blocked in about . . 20 somethin' countries, but after awhile it's down to just Germany. They put an ad on it, and there hasn't been any problems. I guess Shopro is just a greedy company that hates Americans, since the videos on their own channel are blocked in this country. In other words, they ignore fair use, don't want anyone using their content, and don't want non-Japanese people looking at their YouTube videos. =\

I got one strike for uploading a video of lyrics to "Fuwa Fuwa Time", the video survived about nine months before it was taken down by Pony Canyon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pony_Canyon)

Amazingly enough I have yet to have such a problem. Maybe it's the anime I use but Haar told me it might be because I render them with a black border. (Please note that is not intentional that's just how vegas seems to render my videos.)
I've made a couple of Mega Man NT Warrior Videos, which were taken down by Shopro, yet my video involving Mega Man StarForce is still up, though that's probably due to me running it through mpeg-4 and making it really blurry.
I might try the black border thing for the NT Warrior video and see what happens, though.

Let's see how long it takes for this to get removed.

That's the point. I tried to make the title as interesting as possible to disappoint the viewer with how lackluster the actual video was.(The constant flashes and the interlaced frames) This was all part of a ploy to piss off the various members of the amv.org. Sadly, my trick didn't work.
That, and I used an incredibly literal translation of certain parts of the song and I didn't bother explaining what "kan-kan-kan" actually meant.
tl;dr
A troll trolling trolls.

Aaaaanyway', does anyone remember when this all started? When did the AMV Hell movies first start getting taken off of YouTube? Was it after Google bought it? =\
