Hey guys, just intended as a really quick thread so here goes:

I just finished watching Cowboy Bebop, and I liked it, and now I'm going onto the next one because I can't decide which one to choose, either:

Death Note
OR
Hellsing

If you could give me any reason why I should pick one over the other that would be great, ithout giving any spoilers, of course.

Hellsing, but only because it's shorter and of the two it's the one I've actually seen all the way through.

After reading its decription on wiki, it seems more interesting then what I first thought of it.

Well, ive only read the deathnote manga, and hellsing isnt a manga... id go with hellsing, it seems much cooler (although the concept of a note that can kill people is cool).

I usually watch like, 10 series at once, but if I had to choose I'd say Hellsing. Much more entertainment per minute than Deathnote. In 13 episodes of Hellsing there's never a boring moment, but there are many in the 37 episodes of Deathnote.

Watch them both eventually though. Both good enough.

There is a manga for it and I think 8 volumes have been published (at least in the English version)

I would say to watch Hellsing...probably because it is the only of the 2 that I have seen. But it is a good anime.

I have seen Lied...Twice, I enjoyed it.

I may go with Hellsing, unless someone has something about Death Note I'm unaware of. Thanks for all your input!

The Hellsing Ultimate OST's are actually made directly from the manga, unlike the anime, which didn't follow the manga very well, from what I've heard.

Well my personal opinion is to read and watch both but if you have to choose one it depends on what you like. For instance Hellsing is alot bloodier and action oriented. While Death Note is a little deeper and more intelligent. If you'd like to read both i've found a really good website www.onemanga.com it's got a multitude of manga series' available and is ever growing.

Hellsing All The Way!! I mean just weigh the pros and cons. Hellsing has a legendary vampire with a gun that could rip through the great wall o' china, not to mention one of the hottest police women out there. (FYI she looks so much better as a blonde) The first series is awesome but doesn't do the manga justice. Start off with Hellsing ultimate for the best rendition of the manga.

BUT...

Then there is death note; the whole idea of being able to kill someone by writing down their name kicks ass. I have seen some of the episodes and read some of the manga. Very eerie and gothic not to mention a beautiful presentation.

as much as i love death note hellsing is shorter and alucard is a very cool character but so is L and light id say death note first and then cool off with hellsing

Not exactly a good comparison to make, really. I think a better one would be "Death Note vs. Wolf's Rain" or "Hellsing vs. Elfen Lied". Comparisons always work best within genres and even better among theme buddies. By the way, on that front I don't think Elfen Lied works very well, but the best I could think of was Trinity Blood...


As for my actual opinion, Death Note. However, if you include Hellsing Ultimate, it's "wery closse". I couldn't say because Hellsing Ultimate hasn't finished yet. :D

OMG this is hard i love both because of the "insane" characters in them

but if i had to decide it would be Hellsing Ultimate because of the excessive violence and odd bit of fanservice
my fav was episode 3 the hotel sceen was off the hook
