Most of us have at least heard of World of Warcraft... its style is slightly anime in my mind. I'm a WOW addict and even tho I've only been a subscriber since November I have fallen in love with it. Does ANYONE agree with me that it at least has a partially anime/manga style?

btw: My character is Kiraa on the U.S. realm Cho'gall

Yay! Someone actually replied in a positive way. (Well more positive then I expected lol ;D) I understand the monthly fee was my biggest problem at first but once i got into WOW... a started setting aside part of my paycheck just for it.

Ok i'll have to check that out tyvm for the input. i've gotta feelin that most anyone else who reads this will probably agree with you. But eh I guess i'm allowed to have my own opinion. I guess I'll fall back on the numbers that there is at least 1 other WoW player on this site tho...
btw: Have u seen any of the character art for wow?

i played this stupied game for 10 minutes and didnt like it at all.. and it wasnt better to know that u had to pay every month to play it.. i think its better to waste time on something else like watch anime instead being addicted to a game. this was my opinion...

btw i have alot of friends that are relieved that they quit playing..

But I play Cabal, it's a free rpg and looks much more anime "like" than wow.
Almost like a mix of Tekken and....something else....

Holy cow! i really didn't think i'd get this many replies. Thank you everyone who has, this is my first Topic started in any forum whatsoever. True there are anime mmo's that i've heard of like Ragnarok so i'll fold and say WOW isn't very anime/manga like at all. But hey WOW is the first mmo i've played thats actually decent. Sure it costs money but its just right it doesn't get so n depth with the characters i have to spend 8 hours just to get my avatar looking decent, the combat is fast paced enough i don't get bored, and the fact that i can kill the gnomes wherever i find them is awesome...

My brother is pretty addicted to wow. His best character just got to level 70 yesterday, he even made me film when he leveled up -_- . It's night elf something on stormreaver I think....Ryuugan or Rashomon is it's name :P

lol i would never force a sibling to film my getting to 70 cause mine don care so i leave em alone about it... besides who would watch a video like that?... meh well Jazean said his char's lvls, races, and classes i'll state mine.

WRONG!

WoW is more cartooony NOT animeish, and for some, who like thats style (most of WoW players) its justification for Blizzard not to upgrade their graphics.

Oh and Fiess, I doubt ANY MMORPG emphasizes any of the skills any hero needs.

And all it DOES do is do what EVERY OTHER MMO does except a little better, the core skills are: Combat.Mining.Smithing.Cooking.Item Creation. THAT IS ALL.

SO back to the point of the thread: I played the trial, and couldn't fathom why ANYONE would pay 15 a month for it. Really, the only major appeal would be the people.Thats it. Has the exact same elements as *shudder* runescape.

Not all anime is perfectly crafted, and some are even more cartoony then WOW so MY OPINION is my own and I have a right to voice it whether or not there are rebuttles.

We have the right to serve said retributions, regardless of any previous rights held by the initial poster. But, TheEndOfAllThingsGreen is a jerk like that, so, regardless of rights, either yours or his, his opinion will still likely be formulated to crush yours, right? And, you know what they say: Two wrongs don't make a right (unless you are a lawyer, in which case, there's a right as long as there is money to be made, even if the right itself has to be made up).

I play EQ II and love it. I have an 80 bruiser on there and she kicks ass. ;D WoW is just too cartoony and easy for me, and I despise the UI and design. Ack.

And despite what Green says, I play Runescape and have for years. Of course, I'm an anomally there as most of the players are young enough to be my kids, but it's a fun little game I can drop in and play without tons of commitment. ;)

i also like to dabble in free mmo's like perfect world, which has excellent caracter creation freedom but is kinda sparse in some areas, enemy wise

I have no intention of Playing WoW, aka "failing at life".
Playing WoW for long periods of time will result into you turning into someone like the South Park Hacker, with no life.

2Moons
The Chronicles of Spellborn (Wasn't able to play much due to my computer sucks and is below min. requirements)

I played WoW very briefly with a group of women; we all bought it around the same time. The group rapidly disbanded sadly, and I left when my friend Missy did. I play Guild wars more often (yea for free) but not even that in long while

And death knights start at 55 with free full blues, so they aren't hard to level :P

WoW is only fun if your one of the elite on your server and can tell that one pug in your raid that his dps sucks and he cant have turning tide off kt.

WoW is very time consuming, no doubt. It all depends on the person if they will actually find it enjoyable or not. I have played alot of MMO's and from what I've experienced World of Warcraft is the best MMO out there as far as quality goes. The interface is constantly updated and improved, not to mention there is no game with as many third party interface addons to further customize your gameplay. I've been playing for 4 years now, and have always raided endgame content.

I can see why some people don't like it at the start, leveling can be a hassle without people you know ingame. Meeting friends there and eventually raiding 40/25-man content is an incredible experience if people know what they are doing however. It isn't completely skill related, something I myself long for, but Blizzard is an incredible company that really cares for their customers in both quality and service. I myself won't be playing in the next year, due to college, it will be hard to find an MMO that can go against it. So I would even go as far to say it is the best Western RPG. The story gets pretty damn interesting too, I myself learned it as I played the game.

I literally had no life when I played WoW(*cough* 9 accounts with 3-4 70+ lvl characters on each *cough*) but I've moved on to bigger and better things...
such as Aion: The Tower of Eternity.
