Pretty self-explanatory; just review movies you've seen recently. Yes you can review movies that other people have reviewed here (of course). The review can be as in-depth as you want it to be, or you can just say "Good","Okay, "Bad", etc. I'll start.


Iron Man: Need I say more than "I AM IRON MAN"? 10/10

The Chronicles of Narnia-Prince Caspian: I was appalled by the first one, and while this one started slow (like the last one), it got really good. My only complaint is (having read the first few chapters of the book just prior to seeing it) a few differences. 8.5/10

The camera work was cool, even if it did give u a spinning headache once in a while! the actors caught what true fear is with their acting, it was really well done. I also liked how they didnt show the monster that often so that it kept it suspensefuk. 8/10

If u havent seen this yet u are retarded and its amazing so just watch it....
its not a freakin zombie movie like some people say it is...

Resident Evil/RE Apocalypse

When reading some peoples' opinions on these films I get the distinct impression that they were expecting the next Citizen Kane or Pan's Labyrinth. I hate to disappoint you, but the Resident Evil films are not artsy or narrative pieces of cinematic whimsy, they are zombie flicks; pure and simple zombie flicks. Keeping this in mind they are both actually pretty good zombie flicks. There is a wide variety of monsters from the games, a cohesive albeit not brilliant back story, and a good balance between frenzied battle scenes and calmer but tense dialogue on how best to stay alive. The films are somewhat true to the jumbled story of the games, featuring characters such as Jill Valentine and Nemesis, concluding with the fiery destruction of Raccoon City. The films serve as a good litmus test of zombie oriented films; if you enjoy other zombie movies, you'll probably enjoy these as well and vice versa. If gore hungry undead just aren't to your taste, don't bother with these two films; watch a nice romantic comedy instead.

nah the best is the running gag of them skipping... which is part of them being ambiguously gay. one of the biggest clues, though, would be their greetings.

To me it just seems like they've rushed it and tried to make the movie too soon after 300 was released.
It felt like someone had just watched 300 and immediately thought "great, I must make a parody of it" and made a 1 hour movie with half assed jokes and all the celebrity references which just felt tiresome and old..

I only found a couple of scenes a little funny, like the scene with the pit when he kicked people down. But even that got dragged out and old pretty fast..

So: I'm glad I didn't spend any money watching this movie. That's all.

i get free movies (horray having family that work at a theather) so i could review a few.

Speedracer (7.6/10)

For an adaptation of a classic basically budgetless cartoon they made a good movie, the actors did great with what could be considered a sparse script, there where ninjas, i seen a car pick up two other cars and throw them into a wall in an awesome spirally throw only seen in wrestling rings.

overall, three awesome races with a long drawn out amount of talking in between. Rent it and fast forward to the races.


Forbidden Kingdom (7.7/10)

A chance to see a fight between Jackie Chan and Jet Le, which should be reason enough to see a movie.

Overall, it reminded my of movies like "house of flying daggers" mixed with a little of Chan's humor, funny but more of a rental then a buy.


Cloverfield (9/10)

apparently alot of people get motion sick, i call them light-weights but i've been playing games like decent for years so vertigo and motion sickness do nothing to me.

It was a great movie showing the civilian response to a godzilla like attack on new-york. Alot of the choices and responses seemed perfectly natural, the camera-work was realistic.

and for all of use who got the joke of the camera-mans nickname being Hud, it was all the better. BUY THIS MOVIE, it needs to be watched a few times to catch all the little hints and clues.

(Intended for someone like me, who hasn't watched it yet, so no giving plot details away but giving it's strong and weak points, etc.) (Also, maybe someone other than SS_nyuu911_SS. Your opinion, although valid, has already been voiced.) Because the trailer made it seem so dumb, and I didn't give it a second thought. That is, until I heard that it was directed by the Wachowski brothers, which completely changed my outlook.

Now, for a few random X/10's:
Iron Man: 10/10 (I don't know a single person who's given that movie less than phenomenal praise, and I don't blame them.)
Cloverfield: 9/10 (Definitely a thrill-ride in theatres, if anything, as well as having good acting, writing and some funny one-liners to boot.)
Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay: 9.5/10 (Plain hilarious and clever.)

I just saw Raiders of the Lost Ark and Cloverfield.

Raiders: 7/10 I was only half paying attention, but it was still good. Not much happened. *Spoilers* Indy gets Marion and goes to Egypt. Indy finds the Well of Souls and uses the Staff of Ra or whatever to find the Ark of the Covenant. Indy finds the Ark. Nazis find Indy, steal the Ark, and trap Indy and Marion in the chamber. Indy and Marion escape and make everything go boom. Indy hijacks the truck carrying the Ark. Nazis recapture Ark, Indy, and Marion. Nazis take the three to an island and open the Ark. Nazis die. Indy and Marion take the Ark to the US. The end.

Cloverfield: 9/10 I wouldn't know (hell, nobody would), but it seemed pretty damn realistic (that is, a realistic reaction to a monster attack). Except for the plot of rescuing Beth. Seriously, who in their right mind would do that?

The Forbidden Kingdom 9/10
I really liked the movie, the story was good and so was the characters. I really loved the silver haired female enemy (can&#39;t remember her name =/ ), but I hate the main character....he looked so gay. There was also a lot of things in the movie that were really predictable. But then there&#39;s the EPIC FIGHTING SCENE between Jackie Chan and Jet Li <3. Awesomeness when it&#39;s best!. That, and the last fight made the score 9/10...Otherwise 8 or 7.

To whoever hasn&#39;t read The Golden Compass, or the rest of the "His Dark Materials" trilogy: go to your local bookstore or library, right now (or later today would be acceptable) and somehow get them in your possession. Then, open, and proceed to read.
