Alright, I'm on the last episode of: Kenko Zenrakei Sueibu Umisho, and I really liked it thus far, and I'm close to the beginning of Pani Poni Dash, but now I feel like I want to step away from comedies and go back into more serious sci fi stuff, to keep it fresh.

So, for the (5th?) time I ask: What animes would you reccomend that have a sci fi theme?

here is what I have seen in terms of sci fi animes:

Evangalion
Rah Xephon
CowBoy Beebop
GANTZ
GITS I & II

Elfen Lied
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya(I guess you could count it in between)
chobits ( another in between of comedy and sci fi)

and part of ergo proxy (not a huge fan of it, but will finish it if you can convinve me its worth it)

I have been considering:

Blue Gender

Trigun

Gundam (whatevers)

I guess the main reason I am staying away from the gundam series is that they are HUNDREDS of episodes long, and I don't think I will be able to stay on track, especially if I see another sci fi anime thats shorter.

SO, that said, I would appreciate any and all sci fi anime suggestions. Keep in mind the list of animes near the top are ones I HAVE ALREADY SEEN. DON'T SAY: " how about Cowboy Beebop?, I know you stated that you have seen it already, and in the previous sentance you said not to repeat it, but why not watch it? It was good."

Thank you very much.
EDIT:

I was also thinking about watching gunslinger girl, so again, if you know anything about how good/bad it is, let me know please.

I really recommend Trigun. Although the first couple of episodes indicate otherwise, this is a really serious anime - a great watch with really memorable characters (Nicholas D. Wolfwood FTW!)

yeah, I guess its because I keep forgetting, because every time I think about it I say: "you know, this would be an interesting one to watch", and then I get sidetracked, or I am in the middle of another anime.

Alright, I will watch Trigun first, and then gunslinger girl followed by the rest of pani poni dash.

Thank you for your assitance.

feel free to add any additional insight.

ALso, do any of you guys know if this series: Kenko Zenrakei Sueibu Umisho

is going to continue? It was out in '07 and at the very end it seems like it could have continued on...

Elfen Lied. It isn't as good as the manga by the same name, but it's still excellent.

the Chobits manga is also better but I'm here to yell at you for bringing this topic back, we're trying to forget the end of all things green and there was no point in bringing it back
