Lithuania in basketball beat Russia and now has 3 wins 0 losses ;) George Bush actually called Valdas Adamkus (Lithuanian President) and congratulated him on that, and our President replied: yes, Lithuania will be tough for USA to beat in the finals ;)

Polish swimmers have the worst olympic games in their lives. Otylia Jedrzejczak, former world and olympic champion in 200m butterfly, started in 3 different disciplines. She was 4th in 200m butterfly, 9th (just out of the final) in 100m butterfly and 17th (just outside the semifinals) in 200m freestyle. Talk about bad luck... Mateusz Sawrymowicz was 9th on 1500m freestyle, Korzeniowski 4th 200m butterfly, some other girl was 17th in 50m freestyle. I mean damn, they keep getting the worst places imaginable, just being left out of the next phase or the podium...
On a lighter note - Poland has finally gotten it's first medals. Tomasz Majewski surprisingly won in the shot put competition and the fencing team (?p?e) got silver after losing to France in the finals. They played fair though - one of the French injured his fencing hand and the Pole didn't fight until the time for their duel ran out.

I'm predicting AT THE VERY LEAST two morem edals for Lithuania - Discus throw gold with Virgilijus Alekna
(1st place Sydney and Athens, all world championships since 2005 and this year he won 36 various championships.... IN A ROW!) and ofcourse the Basketball team with silver or gold. Our basketball team defeated Argentina, ****ed Iran, humiliated Russia - and with 3w and 0l is the sole leader of the A group :) All of my friends (that includes those in other countries) say that they're just waiting for the olympic USA vs LTU game ;)

But a Chinese girl was going to sing China?s favourite revolutionary anthems at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. But the Chinese found the girl to 'ugly' to represent China for their great moment in history. So they replaced her for a more acceptable child. Just read this, its just weird:

That's the way it is :P Some parts are really difficult. But its way more easy to speak Japanese. And hiragana and katakana is basic stuff, no problem really. But Kanji, that's the part where it seriously is going to get you by the ass.. You need to know the Jojo kanji if you at least want to read and write the most used words. And the Jojo kanji are 1945 symbols. And there are about 50000+ ... ^^

but there are simplier sides of japanese compared to lithuanian, i mean you only need to lear 36 symbols to know the lithuanian writing (well... it becomes 42 if you go deeper though) NOT 50k and about those 50k... it's said there are 50k but there are only 20k you can actually see being used.

Hiragana and Katakana are the basics and can be used to write all words yes, so I kinda fail to see the logic why they got those kanji.. As an example, you got a kanji symbol which means 1 word. And you can just write it with Hiragana/Katakana with a few symbols. I read somewhere that mostly Japanese women use to write letters and whatever with basic symbols, since most of them don't know the Kanji. That's why there exists Furigana.

Phelps: 50.58 seconds
Cavic: 50.59 seconds..

That was pretty impressive. Especially when you see it from above, and how Cavic almost hit the wall, arms forward, and Phelps had his arms still stretched behind him, and still got to hit the wall first in 1/100 of a damn second.. WTF (who the **** ^^) does Phelps think he is? Superman?!

In canada we have 18A and R. Even though the adult age in Canada is 18. the A just means "No one under (insert age) can watch this film uness Accompanied by an adult"

Canada rates movies way more relaxed than the states. I seen a movie in canada rated PG and it was R in the states.

hey I have a question relevant to this topie: SINCE WHEN IS TABLE TENNIS A SPORT?

I see no problem. The guys actually do need to be quick, dexterous and spend a lot of time polishing technique. As opposed to, say, chess. Or bridge. Why the hell are those called sports?

or Skeet shooting.?.?

Aaand...another f*cking 4th place....I bet Kl?ft will place 4th, and Wissman, if he even gets to the final..
Not a good olympic games for swe this year

Oh, and Usain Bolt...that man is SICK!
He jogs faster than the rest of them sprints ffs...I just hope he is "clean"

Virgilijus Alekna 3rd palce in discus throw.
I've never been so disappointed by bronze before :-\

An I've never been so surprised with silver. Malachowski threw the disk only 3cm further than Alekna did. W00t!

Well, it depends on your location as well. I was on holiday in Austria over Christmas and there were so many Olympic banners clogging up the place you couldn't walk down the street without tripping over a "Go For Vancouver!" sign - back home in England, though, which isn't really well-equipped with snow, it hasn't been so much as mentioned on the news or in any paper!

hehe yeah it's pretty big here too .p (Sweden) and everyone are looking forward to it.

And someone has already died in a rodel-crash, great start..
