I don't know why I didn't do this earlier, but I feel like I have to thank you, all of you that have contributed to making the AMV Hell videos.
I have only been an Anime fan for less than 2 years. Before that, I always kinda brushed it off, scoffed at it, even belittled it sometimes. This always kinda strained my friendship with my best friend, as she is, and always has been, a huge Anime fan. Back in March of ought-six, I decided to tag along with her to MegaCon in Orlando, and I found myself strangely drawn to a lot of the Anime booths there... my interest was definitely piqued... but I was not quite there yet...
...then I hung out with her and some of her friends she had planned to meet up with at the Con... and we all went back to her apartment and watched some funny videos on one of her friend's laptops. Then they started the AMVs... I paid attention, because they promised me they'd be funny. First was Lord of the Yen, which I found very amusing, even though I had no idea who the characters were at the time. ...then we watched AMV Hells 1 & 2, and I laughed my freaking ass off.
After the con, I went home, and found that there was, in fact, an AMV Hell 3... and that it was over an hour long. I watched it on Google Video. The moment the last Osaka bleep aired after the credits, I *HAD* to watch Anime. It was no longer something that I thought might be interesting, I *HAD* to get into it.
I actually used AMV Hell 3 to guide my decisions on which Anime to watch... and the first two series I watched in their entirety were Neon Genesis Evangelion and Azumanga Daioh, and those are still my two absolute favorite series ever. If you check out my Anime New Network profile in my sig, you'll see that, yes, in fact, I have watched a LOT of the Anime that was featured in AMV Hell 3.
So, to wrap up this needlessly long post (sorry), I'll just reiterate my first point. Thank you all. You won a convert with your brilliant and hilarious video editing. THANK YOU! :D
