^ my mother and I have very seperate lives. we rarely talk outside the "So how's everything?" mundane stuff. we occasionally have our moments, like when someone dumps me, she can be my pal and comfort me. But then the mother mode kicks back in and we're distant. she's WAY WAY WAY too protective for her own good. she worries constantly when i'm out, especially now that I had to confess about being raped. she has very set ideas about women, that frustrate me at times (aka why arn't i married like my sister already). she's a heavy set women and 6 feet tall; we have the same hair and eyes. everyone calls me clone, as we so alike it's scary. same facial features, same taste in food, movies, climate, temperment, etc. she's smarter than I am, and i often wonder if it's because of my brain damage, that if I didn't hit my head my life wouldn't so messed up. of course, i still would have my birth defects and poor health, so maybe not. I look at her and see what I could have been, and see so much of what I want; a happily married woman of over 35 years, a housewife who left her job to raise her family, a beautiful home, and money to spend on vacations. these are things i will likely never have because of my birth, and that is a pain i can never heal.

I keep many notes (a diary if you want to be girly) as because of my brain damage and/or birth defects (not sure which is responsible, or both) i have chronic memory loss. it's why i freaked when mawelli left; after so much time passes, i CAN'T remember things, and I have to rely on the stories that have been told. I KNOW the story of how my brother mooned an entire beach, but I don't REMEMBER it myself. i know the STORY of my first crush from my diary, but I can't REMEMBER him, his features, his voice. I share the stories i know, while i know them, as telling them over and over helps me to remember them.

I mean really, I remember dating my friend Rachel 3 years ago, but I can't remember the actual dates, sex, or anything. i remember us as we are now, watching movies and such. before i came to AMV hell, i went to another forum. initially i multi tasked on both, but I spent so much time here I forgot why i was going to the other forum, who my friends were there. my mind is very one track, as if i get too distracted, i forget things. to be honest, it's one of my greatest fears, forgetting who I am. i see my grandmother with altheimzers, and know it's possible. no matter how many friends i have now, how many loved ones I have, I fear forgetting everyone i know, and dying feeling quite alone in the world. it's why I'm in such a rush to get married, of having kids; i want someone who I count on to be there for me, for better or for worse, no matter how bad i get. i want to be sure of being loved when i die, of having some small impact on this world.
