20kB/s isn't THAT slow, I usually get about 40kB/s for upload and 160 for download. (EDIT in case you are wondering I have Telus DSL)

Of course after the upload, Z has to do a test download, and then watch the test download, each of which will take about 90 minutes. Then after a few minutes for it to clear the upload queue, we all start downloading it, and that may take longer than 90 minutes depending on how fat the org's connection is.

At some point during this process, I may just wet my pants. :shock:

I'm never sure how our internet compares to other countries, but I was sure Virgin Media provide cable internet. I mean they've got me connected to a cable modem so... and that's about 3MB. I think their maximum plan is 20MB. And I'm in Yorkshire, but not exactly a small village :|

- Whenever an Excel Saga clip is on screen
- Everytime you hear Weird Al
- Whenever any Azumanga Daioh character is on screen

- If you laugh
- Chug 1 beer during intermission
- The last person to say "osaka" whenever osaka is on screen has to bong 1 beer.

Yeah, you really need to tweak the Azumanga Daioh part, the objective of the game should be to get drunk, not die of alcohol poisoning.

The only real worries about the Azumanga Daioh rule is in the third movie and even then a tenth of the clips used in AMV hell 3 were from AZMDH

Oh, it will be AMV Hell 0 all over again. These things attack in twos. They also follow a wave pattern. Think about it:
AMV Hell = Cool, AMV Hell 2 = Wrong, AMV Hell 3 = Cool * 10, AMV Hell 0 = Wrong * 10. So, if the pattern continues, and AMV Hell 4 = Cool * 100, then it's only right to assume AMV Hell 5 (Codenamed: Armageddon) - Wrong * 100..... HOLY CRAP!!!!! Eh, close enough. Usually, these kinds of equations are an "all or nothing" ordeal, but taking into consideration how late (or early, depending on where you are) the time is, I can give you the points for this one.
It's 7:36am MST, here. I have an 8 hr day ahead of me, and I have yet to sleep. It's not simply because of AMV Hell 4, though. Some days, I just don't feel like sleeping.

I have been looking at this forum ever since I heard that AMV Hell 4 would get started. I also came here about...once a week to see how it went. Now I leave a page open ever since sept 29th to see if it'll come.

Today is the day, so whatever may come will come, may we all be faced with the glory of being the touched ones of this grand event!

Oh, and here's a random poem I wrote that comes from a year ago to pass time:

Beyond the bounds

Gothic originally did not mean dark though many of the books pushed a darker tone then the novels were previously known for. So Gothic along the terms of the novels became an art form, a Gothic art, when the arcitecture of Catholic Cathedrals were made they were designed with Gothic art in mind. thus we call it Gothic architecture. Originally Goths were considered people of the Gothic arts (which were not all dark) people who wrote and read the gothic noves, poems, etc. but now days the image of gothic was changed to a fad where the point was how you dressed and acted in society rather then artists.

Actually, the term 'Gothic' was used as a synonym for 'barbaric' and specifically evoked images of the Goths who sacked Rome. After architecture moved into the Baroque period, the medieval churches were retroactively named 'Gothic' because they were supposedly primitive in relation to Baroque tastes.

The Gothic novel first arose in the 1700s (although popularly associated with the 1800s) during a time when Europe was in full Romanticist swing. It was because of dark overtones, as it was meant to evoke whatever medieval feeling there, but filtered through more modern tastes. As time went on, the association became largely linked to horror and dark romantic types of literature.

The modern Goth subculture is a product of 1970s Britain and the demise of British Punk - Goth Rock is a form of Post-Punk, and was introspective and contained a long of tongue-in-cheek references to both the horror and dark romanticism of the Gothic novel. It was also heavily inspired visually by 70s Glam, much like Punk was to an extent and Post-Punk in general was. Those that were part of the subculture that sprung up around the music were then called Goths because of the association with Goth Rock.

I won't get into the differences in the music and subculture after 1980, though, simply because it means nada in the current discussion. Though I will point out that those in the subculture usually aren't too fond of mallgoths.

And most of that is from my own head (only part I'm fairly sketchy about is the full context of the Gothic novel, but the subculture is heavily inspired from the dark elements therein). Goth Rock is one of my favorite types of music so I should darn well know the history.

Finland won the Winter War at 1940 against Soviet Union. We won because Finlanders have their own strength called Sisu. We can wait AMV hell 4 with same strength.
