Since the premiere at AWA this past weekend, people have been clamoring like mad for the download. In an effort to maybe kinda keep people appeased, I'm going to keep a checklist here of the things that we need to do before it's released for download, and I will update it as things are completed.

To Do:
- Render, Encode, final checks for errors, prepare for distribution
Assuming there are no problems when we view the final encode, I think we can assume a Friday release AT THE LATEST.

Done:
- Kill a couple videos that got no laughs (There weren't that many of them, and I WON'T kill a video if it was a person's only entry in the project.)
- Move around a few videos that weren't placed very well.
- Adjust the volume on a few videos.
- Shorten some videos that drag on too long.
- Use a higher quality audio source in a few videos.
- Add 1 or 2 vids we forgot about.
- All new credits video.
- Improve the opening sequence.
- Remake 1 or 2 videos.
- Fix the credits to reflect changes made.

I remember seeing a few that people were just wondering when it was going to end. For example, during the boxman clip people were just talking about other clips.

I am a little worried about one of my clips though. It was just a REALLY random 3 second clip that made like 2 people laugh. I guess people were like o.0? what? :lol:

can you tell the editors that didnt make it to AWA (me being one of them) and tell them if their vids didnt get any laughs?

as for the remake video part, what if we lost all the edit footage (video and audio files) and no longer edit it any longer? would it still be a problem and contribute to not making the final cut?

Yes, there is a reason it didn't get in, but the reason they're called deleted scenes is because there was a small problem with the clip, or it simply wasn't funny enough. Maybe it was COOL but not FUNNY

Even though I am dying to see amv hell 4, you should take a break if your sick Zarxrax. Everyone here really appreciates the fine quality entertainment you provide for us. I don't think anyone here wants you to get sick, fired, or flunk out of school over this project. amv hell is awesome, and as far as my RPG filled head is concerned you saved the world, you should get free stays at the inn.

I always think that pulling grass out of a lawn and boiling it in a cup makes me feel better. Also: if you generate enough static electricity and shoock yourself repreatedly, you will feel less sick. AND; if there is air in your house you should breathe it. it is a good think to do.

Does anyone have any guesses concerning the surprise after-credits video? I had been thinking it would be a final gag of some sort, but then I started thinking that since AMV Hell 4 was a sequel for AMV Hell 3, perhaps the after-credits video would be the announcement for a sequel to AMV Hell 0.

If it were me, I'd call it AMV Hell 00.

There are many reasons WMM is designed to be a pain in the backside to use, and I guess only old Bill will know the answers to these.

But in the past I've found that is can randomly crash if you don't have the right codecs installed. Don't ask my why :|

Well, I'm not sure if this is your problem. However, having many different clips (Mainly if you split them automatically from movie maker to several other clips.) It will slow it down very much, to freezing, then to not working at all. Though it may be a simple program, alot of people's computers can't handle it fully.

And for the rest of you, I think I could wait another month for AMV Hell 4. There's no rush, right?

WMM is a large chunk of poo. I use Premiere Pro. It has its issues, but there's a lot more versatility to it than Movie Maker.

The uploads are going more slowly than I had hoped, so I don't know if the release will happen tonight. My ftp client currently says there is 10 hours left on uploading to the org. These things fluctuate quite a bit though, so that time could cut in half maybe. I just dont know though :\
