I've been watching JO's "Mayazaki" overview, and I am curious into a few, for now I am going to start with Nausicca's Manga as apparently it's superior to the film and apart of many people's top ten manga lists. I've also been wanting to watch Princess Mononoke as well

Yeah, I was going to suggest Princess Mononoke, actually. I also liked Castle in the Sky and Kiki's Delivery Service. Of course, I saw that last one a couple of years back (before my tastes developed), so it may not be as good as I remember it.

I liked, and still like the original "Congratulations" Evangelion ending. I liked it just for the reason that Shinji and Asuka were saved from going insane, and the show had a happy ending, and I am a sucker for happy endings.
Evangelion was only the third anime series I have watched. It was only after years of first watching the original I learned that the ending didn't really tie in with the storyline.
