so what's your netspeed? I have 10 Mbps, which is kinda nice and unlimited traffic, which is even nicer :) Although in the capital (Vilnius) they have 5 Gbps so my 10Mbps makes me want to shoot myself.

My net speed is 54 Mbps. Yah the fastest net speed in Manitoba is like 1 Gbps.

funny thing is when it says 54 Mbps it's not actually running that fast.
it's usually only running at like 2-5 Mbps. I got the full rundown from our internet installation dude.

54 MBps means 54 megaBITS per second, so if you want megabytes per second divide that by 8. so 54MBps/8 = 6.75 Mbps

No I know that. But here I'll tell you how my speed works.
My internet runs at 2 Mbps. But my connection speed is 54 Mbps. So it would run just as fast if i was running at 5Mbps. Because it only needs 2Mbps. Or something like that. You know what I'll ask him again. He comes over all the time hes a family friend. Then i'll write it again.

Voil?. :)

Speaking of which, I'm on my brother's computer now, and SWEET JESUS AGAIN, IS HIS NEW VIDEO CARD EVER AWESOME. Going from dial-up, which takes ten minutes to load a page, to this, where pages load literally instantly, is ridiculous. I'm seriously overwhelmed...

Both are good reasons for me to buy anime. Which I don't. I Netflix :D. They have a pretty decent selection, and when something really new comes out I torrent it. I counteract my torrenting activities with buying lots of MANGA!

LOTS of manga... I believe I have described it before: more than 150 volumes, going to need a new shelf soon. Of course, it's nothing compared to some of my friend's collections. I have a college friend who has roughly 10 times as much manga as me. Yeah, she could stock a Barns&Nobles pretty easily. She estimates that her manga collection represents her single largest investment, larger than her car.

Yup every male has to either go to the army or do civil service, which actually takes longer than the army. Though since Russia is our neighbouring country I think it's pretty normal to have compulsory army :D

Yeah I'd say I'm pretty good. I play the drums. I should be able to get in with my skills since a friend of mine got in with worse drumming skills than me, though I'm going to ask some more info on the matter from him to make sure I get in :D I still got time though. but on a more serious tone, he/she is having a rough spell at the moment (not sure what details he/she is comfortable with me giving out) and has gone into "avoidence" mode. this happens now and then, when he/she pushes people away, without even meaning too. it's what almost lead to us breaking up, as i thought abyss was avoiding my specifically. once this lousy holiday season ends, i'm sure abyss' mood will improve. at least, i hope so. until then, don't be too offended if abyss isn't too sociable. he/she will come around in time.

returning to normal slowly, my past month has been more empty then usual...

the lack of a functioning car has kept me from the card shop i used to go to twice a week for about 6 weeks, kinda getting to me... social interaction in real life have been down to minimal since college semester ended (going from 5 days a week to maybe 1 if i'm lucky)... i think my brain is trying to tell me i need more board games back in my life... i miss "race for the galaxy" and "catan" and *rambles off list some 50 board games deep*...

someone taze me, i think the hyper is overloading now...

been stuck at home for a while, usually i'm on later at night and tired, but theres not been much to burn energy on this break... i think i'm actually typing this at about 70ish words a minute... not counting breaks of course... for the thinking and whatnot...

these are usually the moods where i end up sitting down and typing up about 60 page player guides for my next planned campaign and whatnot but i've just barely figured out the magic system i plan on using and most of the details about the races and locations are still only vague figments in my head... or i could do the other one i have planned and start figuring out the racial templates for the aliens...

Random point: I think this is one of THREE threads we have going at once on roughly the same topic... of course, they've all diverged so heavily that it doesn't matter anyway! ;D (The other two are Hellmates IRL and what do you think we all look like).

I think this would be a cool thread if we described our houses. So I'm going to do that :D.

Well... I say I live in Massachusetts. Which is about as specific as I can get without everyone getting confused. I'm technically a bastard child, and now my parents are remarried. So they have split custody, with my mom, step-dad and half-brother in one town and my dad, step-mom and step-sister a thirty minute drive away in a different house. Actually, my step-mom just divorced my dad and is living in yet ANOTHER house, but let's ignore that for now :P.

Uh... I forgot what I was talking about ^_^;;

OH! Yes, my house: two story, painted a really cool teal/aqua color. My room's on the second floor and is painted a ridiculous shade of orange with purple trim (I was six, don't ask :D). The house is full of art and cool antiques (my dad is an antiques restorer who also paints). We have a pool and a hot tub... though we didn't really use them this year and I feel really guilt not to be using them. Of course, my sister reeeeeeeeeeally liked to share them (she used to throw so many parties over the summer that pulling bras and beer can shreds out of the lawnmower stopped being funny. Though it is now ;D), and that wasn't really the best idea, so I don't know what to say.

Uh. Wow. I should go to bed. I can't stop freaking typing. Maybe I should kill some chumps in Toribash to calm me down...

Ok now my turn to explain my house.

I live in Finland, a city called Vantaa which is 20km north from Helsinki the capital of Finland. I live way east of Vantaa almost the last residents of our city in the east. I live in a townhouse (if thats the name for a row of houses stuck together) with two floors. Its white stone and wine red coloured wood on the outside. Inside it's really not anything special. Downstairs we have the kitchen, living room and toilet. Upstairs we have toilet + sauna, parents room, my room, my little brothers room and a office room for my dads and moms works stuffs....

Hope thats enough description

hmm....yalls is bigger then the one my grandmother hand when she lived in Florida

my house is in Powder Springs GA, its two story, blueish, and located at the bottom of a hill in a neighborhood called Echo Mill. downstairs is the living room, family room, formal dining room, dining room, kitchen (the dining room is pretty much in the kitchen, a bathroom, and my grandmothers room (she doent live here....its more like a guest bedroom....but we call it "Granny's room")

upstairs is my room, my parent bedroom both of my sisters bedroom, a bathroom, and the laundry room.

my apartment is Located in Jacksonville, AL, it has a living room, kitchen/dining room, 1 bathroom (which sucks when i have to go and my roommate is in the shower), some storage closets, my room and my roommates room...

house, western border of Detroit (literally 2 streets inside city limit). Outside is tan with forest green trim.

no carpet, to many animals for carpet, so all the floors are stained hardwood, tile or stone.

main floor has kitchen, bathroom, living room, my sister bedroom and the computer room which used to be a bedroom.

years back my parent redid the attic and made the entire thing there room.

I dwell in the basement, we added walls so its now divided into my room, my dads work room, laundry area, storage space (small like 6x4 foot room), and a general area that used to have a tv but is now also used for storage.

long story short, this house started as a two bedroom house and now has 4 rooms that count as bedrooms.

that's about it...

I might as well put mine down.... Ok here we go!!!!

we (me and my family (Dad, Mom, POS Brother.)) live in the outskirts of Stevensville, Montana we own about 20 akers of land just trees lots and lots of trees (I hate trees) anyway the house is a two story if you count the underground basement it has been remodeled A LOT we had ripped all the "Brady Bunch" wall paneling off so it's all nice and clean we painted it kinda a dirty white color "it's called eggshell" haha the carpet that was in the front room and replaced it with bam boo floors and got rid of the standing wood stove and put in a insert stove "more room" the main floor is the kitchen, living room, dining room, 3 bead rooms down stairs is my room that's about the length of the house (I'm underneath it) the washer and drier are down the hall from my door so it's fine and the garage is right next to my door so that's convent. ;) anyway i get to have fun in the woods wile town is 2 mils away all down hill that is! haha it's fun in the snow and ice (like right now) yah so that's pretty much it

I'm Kurt Penman and i hate the world :)

Is nobody else going to describe their where abouts?

Odessa
01-10-2009, 01:32 AM
(cracks knuckles)

well, I live in Avon, MA at the moment, in my parents house. Avon is four square miles total, and it's incredibly rural. My neighbors raise chickens, the school has a "no horse parking" sign, and the like. This small town hideaway is 15 minutes outside boston, and the contrast is startling.

The house is the largest on a small dead end street, and the only house on this street that has a second floor. it's a pastel yellow color, and you can see it down the road as soon as you turn down the street. there's a line of mini evergreen trees outside my father planter, serving as bushes. The front of the house has a stone stairway to the front door, and a large bay window connecting to the parlor. Out driveway is large, enough to hold six cars, and is on the left of the house.

the back of the house has a large yard. my mother has a garden there in good weather. there's a tool shed in the back left corner, and in the center of the yard is our above ground pool. There's a large wooden patio painted red, with chairs, a table, and a often broken umbrella. My mother has hanging plants alll along the fence seperating our yard from our neighbors. on the other side of the fence is the "wealthy" section of town, with about 6-10 LARGE mansions.

coming in from the back (as we never use the front door) you enter the kitchen. it's a tad small with no island, but it has a lot of cabninets and all the standard fixings (stove, fridge, etc). the kitchen table holds six normally, and expands to hold up to 12 for holidays. the floor here is always being cleaned, as the tile floor gets dirty very easily.

connected to the kitchen via a small archway is the parlor. this has my mom's big veige couch, my dad's matching recliner, my grandmother's oak rocker, and the entertainment center. it is guady, taking up a lot of room ,but it's my dad pride and joy: a 46 inch plasma TV with more features than i know how to name. pictures of the family line the room, ad the hallway off the parlor to the three first floor bedrooms. in the parlor is a staircase going to the second floor and the front door. the carpet is sea blue.

going down the hallway, there are a ton of picture frames with themes: a series of photo's for all the kids, my sister's wedding, my parents wedding ,etc. there are two doors on your left, one at the end, and one to your right. the first door on the left is the bathroom, done in a sea shell theme in blues and pinks. (my mom likes blues and greens). the second left door is my parents bedroom. very plain, queen size bed, oak dressers. blu carpet.

the end room is the guest room, which has been occupied by my grandmother since she moved in. it is my mom's play room when no is visiting, so it is lined with boxes of her stamp collection, markers, cards, and her other craft/hobby materials. there is a small table for her to work on, and a desk opposite it with my mom's PC. at the far end of the room is my grandmothe'rs hospital bed, a small dresser, and her closet. this room has a wooden floor.

the right room is my aunt judy's and cousin amanda's, who live with my parents. it used to belong to my sister before she married and moved out. it has a queen bed, a dresser with a TV, and not much else. it's done with a wood floor, with pink colors aboudning here.

oh, also from the hallway is a side door to the basement. the basment has a family room and a storage area. the family room is done in green, with a large TV, and my brother's game systems. there is a alrge table where we used to play DnD on, and a bookcase with all our minitures and books on it.

going up the stairs from the parlor, you enter another hall with blue carpet. there are five doors; a small rear door fit for a hobbit behind you to go into a small storage attic, a trap door above you to the upper attic, and three normal doors; one on your left, one at the end of the hall, and one on the right. the left door leads to the master bathroom. it has a large vanity mirror, lots of shelves for my make up, a large closet for towels, and i kid you not, an exercise machine in the bathroom. (i take full credit for this awesome idea). the room is done in pinks with green carpet.

now, the two bedrooms; the bedroom at the end is the master bedroom, and used to be mine. i gave it up a few years ago, and gave everything i had to my brother. this room, now my brothers, is the size of two (or even three) normal size rooms. it has a whopping 16 bookcases, a queen bed, an entertainment center, two walk in closets, an armoire, a nightstand, and a computer desk (all down in light brown wood). the carpet is pink. the bookcases are lined of good things; video games, action figures, books, stuffed animals, collections of every kind. my cousin calls it "the museam" as it's huge.

last but not least, my current room (my brothers old room). the room is small, but cozy. i have a small twin size bed, a comnputer desk, a burea, a TV stand, and a full length mirror all in brown. my carpet is blue, my currtains pink, and my walls painted green (as opposed to white like the rest of the house). my burea is lined with a "jewelry tree" with my necklaces and such dangling from it, serving as decoration and conveninat location. i have place a collection of hanging fairies with the jewelry for an aesthetic touch. my PC desk is ellaborate, with many nooks and crannies with personnel momento's. i have my grandfather's old pipe, my grandmothers mirror, a first place ribbon from a grade school science fair, my highschool yearbook, and the first gift a girl ever gave to me, to name a few. above the desk is shelving, with some of my favorite books on it (Tolkien, Lewis, Brooks, Fforde). there's also space for this large ceramic dragon my friend made for me one year as a birthday present.

above my TV are more shelves, with my 60+ cookbooks (i like to cook!). i also have pictures of my family lining these shelves.

over my bed, i have numerous pictures and paintings of fairies on my wall, as i love fairies :)

my one bookcase is packed with books, and has explouded onto the floor in front of it, as well as a large box on the floor. the box is below my full length mirror, which hangs on the wall (i'm too tall for other mirrors lol). i have a small walk in closet, divided in two. on the left side of the closet is my clothing. the right side has shelves for more personell effects. this includes a gathering of stuffed animals and action figures i couldnt' part without, my grandfather's toolbox, the first box of valentine candy i was ever given, and a collection of african instruments my mother collected years back. on the floor is my collection of shoes. yes, collection lol. i have my flats, my sneakers, my boots, 3 pairs of high heels, 2 pairs of sandels, and a "kicking around" pair.

after writing this all, i recall i took pictures of my room to post here. i will do so next week if my dad can find the time to download the pictures from my camera to the computer. still, consider this sneak peak ;)

Where was my extra lock for the door...hmmm...

*goes searching*

Odessa
01-18-2009, 02:15 PM
Oh silly boy. if I fly all the way to Finland, do you really think a lock is going to stop me? I'm a pirate! i have skeleton keys, or something.

Or maybe if I wear my corset you'll let me in willingly? :)

Mawelli
01-18-2009, 03:24 PM
Well...there is the whole: I'm still living with my parents and if a lady with a corset came banging on our door insisting on seeing me they would probably call the police and not let you in- situation soo....

Odessa
01-18-2009, 04:34 PM
