thanks. Star trek was one of the few things I use to bond with my father over. I used to also read a ton of comic books (Green lantern was a favorite) as well as played "Romance of the three kingdoms" with him. I no longer dress up in Star trek uniforms, but I still remember a lot of it.

Back to the romance of the three kingdoms... heck yes I know it! I know that Ikki Tousen is a direct lift of the original story. However, Sōten Kōro is your best bet if you want quality (and less fanservice). I've heard about it recently as the best manga adaptation, with the main focus of the article being the fact that Madhouse is going to do an anime of it this year (supposedly starting next month).

They had a pilot episode for a proposed series much in the style of the original fist of the north star, but nothign ever came of it as I understand it. I have the chinese live action film adaptation of it, but it's fairly old. a new anime version is quite interesting news. also, not sure if you have heard, but there are two new movies based on it that just came out not too long ago in China; one based on Chi bi, the other on Zhao Yun. (the former supposedly is good, the latter not so much according to my brother).

and since i'm talking how fan girl I am, abyss can comment on my imported RoTK figures from China, or my 6 foot long wall scroll of Guan Yu that is alongside the entrance to my room. I also happen to know the standard RoTK biography of most characters as told by the shu-biased book; my brother knows the historical side better as he is Wu supporter. We've both done actul research into this hobby of ours that startedp laying a SNES game lol. My brother and I have both written research papers, and he's toured several historical sites; I am so jealous that he went to Cheng Du!

that it does. i feel terrible. my TMJ is acting up, and it hurts like hell. and i can't get to the doctors as i've spent the last two days at my aunt's funeral. always pleasant, you know? and my brother just got a job in DC, so that confirms what i've feared, in that he's not ever coming back, that this riff between us is indeed permanent. and then one of my friends online turned on me saying he hates me now, and i'm just having a really sucky week. on top of all hat, i have to go in for more surgery next week, and this one looks to be bigger than expected; i'm going to be out of town and out of my mind for two weeks. i'm scared and in pain and i don't want to be scared or in pain anymore. i'm so tired of it. i hate how my life is now.

it's a pencil/paper system that everyone agrees has the best developed setting ever, after that the complaints are either about the unbalanced rules (which our GM has been working hard on fixing up) and some people don't like how dice heavy it is(it's still got nothing on shadowrun). I think it's really fun

i still prefer Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 or D20 Modern.

you should give Exalted a shot and I still prefer GURPS to D20 modern for a modern to futuristic setting
