well I am a fan of some fighting games, like smash bros but that's really a combination of fighting and party, I will go with Arcana Heart, guilty gear, and capcom vs. snk 2 for good balanced 2d fighters all are fun and cartoony and for 3d it's really only DOA oh and SCII but that goes without saying.
