I'm old enough to have seen Star Wars in the theater when it originally came out.
It really was a big deal...then. 2001 had a somewhat cult following, but SW was
the first time a sci-fi movie really went mainstream popular.
From the moment people saw that opening roll and said:
"Episode IV? Did I miss the first 3???" I give it up for Lucas to front-load all of the weird SF stuff right there in the first 5 minutes
of the movie: Spaceships; laser fire; weird guys in white plastic costumes; the 2 droids, and then the villain is an asthmatic tall
guy in a black plastic costume with a cape. In those days, nobody had ever even heard of James Earl Jones before.

GUYS. CHILL THE **** OUT.

Disney owns Pixar and Marvel and guess what? Both of those companies are free to do as they please. Disney is rather loose with it's other properties, if it was as HORRIBLE as it's being made out to be as a childhood raping scumbag, would we EVER have the Avengers movie?

And Honestly, this could be a GOOD THING. Knights of the Old Republic film? More emphasis on story and writing than special effects? Remember that Lucas was hoarding his properties, so having a more loose grip may be beneficial for this franchise.

He prevented any new good stories to come in film form, and keep in mind: this guy is responsible for:
-The Prequels
-Constantly Editing the original trilogy and adding bull**** CGI and dialogue (Such as Vader screaming "Nooooo!") and preventing the original versions of the films from being released, with the blue-ray/DVD releases only containing the CGI altered ones
-Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull

Lucas prevented any new breath from being given to the films, and his constant editing of the original trilogy really, really got tiresome and killed some scenes. (Jarjar Binks cameo in the last part of RoJ? **** NO)

Now with Disney, we could get people like JJ Abrams or Joss Whedon make their own story in the Star Wars Universe, I'm down with any chance to see some Grand Admiral Thrawn action on the big screen. We could also...you know...GET THE ORIGINAL VERSIONS OF THE FIRST THREE RELEASED ON DVD AND BLU RAY.

So yeah, George Lucas giving up Star Wars to the almighty mouse has a high likelihood to be a GOOD THING. Pixar is booming. Marvel is still making comics. So far, I have seen no official bull**** crossovers with Mickey Mouse and Spiderman yet, so I trust Disney to respect the franchise based on their track record with the other independent properties. Now, I could get proved, very brutally wrong, but for now though, lets not throw a **** storm. After all Disney can't ruin the franchise more than Lucas did with Episode I and Jarjar.

As if I don't know that already...
But in all honesty thought I didn't like The Avengers. Too much snarky comments throughout the whole movie and too little SUPER HERO TAG TEAM action.
The problem I had with The Avengers is the same as I had with the Transformers trilogy
too much flash and SPESHUL AFFEKS and just catering to mainstream fanboys instead of keeping things timmid. They did do a good job with the first one even if it was a bit ridiculous at times and just poorly executed but by the second I lost all interest.

still I'd like to see what they can make of new Star Wars movies even though I'm not realy a fan of the series.
Love the movies, big part of my childhood but you wouldn't see me trying to force choke bitches to get the last Yoda drinking bottle.

Disney has tried to keep it's properties separate from one another, so I really doubt that (Otherwise we would have gotten a Pixar Planet in KH, or Disney Crossovers with Marvel by now) that said...an official Marvel/Star Wars crossover would be ****ing amazing, hell Marvel already has DONE Star Wars comics in the past so... and considering the established parellel universe plots in Marvel, a crossover between the two would not be impossible and we can solve the debate once and for: Can a Ligthsaber cut through Adamantium. Why Abe Lincoln Was Lucky
by Jeff Greenfield
Y! News Political Correspondent

It’s no wonder audiences are flocking to “Lincoln,” the new film about the 16th president. It’s a clear-eyed, dramatic, and ultimately inspiring tale that portrays Lincoln not as a saint, but as a hard-nosed, determined political leader who uses all the tools of politics, high and low, to push a constitutional amendment abolishing slavery through a reluctant House of Representatives. From uplifting rhetoric to political threats to temporizing on the issue of equality to patronage to bribery, Lincoln and his allies deploy every weapon at their command to win the battle.

But as the words of Lincoln’s second inaugural still echoed in the theater, I found myself thinking that in one sense, Lincoln was lucky. All he had to contend with was ingrained racism, a war-weary nation and daunting political arithmetic. What he didn’t have to deal with was…modern media.

He didn’t have to wage this fight in a time when every backroom deal, every casual remark, every public assertion or private behavior of an ally was the focus of constant, intense scrutiny--when the often messy sausage-making at the heart of political progress was on 24-hour display.

Suppose the tools of modern political communication were around back in Lincoln’s day. What would he have been up against? Well, consider:

“Tonight! New scandals as a desperate President Lincoln finds himself accused of moral degeneracy as his attempt to rewrite the Constitution is on life support—AND new details about the public and private hypocrisy of his radical allies. THIS….is the Vallandigham Report!

“We begin tonight with a shocking revelation of President Lincoln’s true moral character. In a just-obtained video shot during what he thought was a private conversation among cronies, the president was captured telling a joke involving a portrait of our beloved Founding Father George Washington hanging in the bathroom of a British aristocrat. We can’t broadcast the full audio, but in this coarse attempt at humor, the president of the United States employs a common barnyard obscenity—and then laughs at his own crudity! Bernie, as our media analyst what’s your reaction?”

“Clement, like every decent American, I’m appalled. I’m outraged. For our Head of State to resort to such language—well, it’s just unthinkable that such language could emerge from a president.”

“Thank you, Bernard. This latest stain on the president’s moral standing comes as we learn that the president has employed what can only be called blatantly dishonest language to conceal the fact that he is willing to prolong this Civil War in pursuit of his political goals. As we’ve been reporting, Francis Preston Blair, founder of Lincoln’s own Republican Party, has reached out to Confederate officials in search of a negotiated peace. When he was asked if such a group was in Washington—which would doom the 13th Amendment’s passage, the president said there is no such group in the capital and 'is not likely' to be here. What he didn’t say is that’s because he’s forbidden them to come here, according to our sources. Mary, your reaction?”

“That’s what we’ve come to call ‘typically Lincolnian language’, Clement. Just what you’d expect from a political narcissistic sociopath.”

“Fair and balanced as always, Mary. And Lincoln’s own dishonesty applies to his closest cronies. We’ve also learned that Secretary of State William Seward has employed the services of disreputable but highly efficient fixers to win the votes of lame-duck Democrats by offering patronage jobs and in at least one depicted case, handfuls of cash. Congressman Fernando Wood—your reaction?”

“Apparently the only way the president and his Radical Republican buddies can win is with ‘Postmaster Payoffs’ and other cheap tricks. To think his media team calls him ‘Honest Abe.’ “

“And speaking of his allies, the president’s been telling some of those Radicals, like Pennsylvania’s Thaddeus Stevens, to soft-pedal their outrageous beliefs about full voting rights for blacks. Well, later tonight, we’re going to air a special hour broadcast featuring years of speeches where Stevens actually argues that blacks and whites…are equal! And as if that’s not enough,--Ann, tell us the shocking news you’ve learned about Stevens’ private life.”

“Well, Clement, it turns out that for years, Congressman Stevens has been living in sin with his so-called ‘housekeeper’ who happens to be…a mulatto! His neighbors actually call her, ‘Mrs. Stevens!'"

“In other words, Ann, the real goal of these radicals may in fact be —"

"— Exactly: not one nation, but miscegenation."

“Truly shocking, Ann. When we come back, a look behind the real purpose of The Homestead Act. It gives 160 acres of land to anyone who wants it! Was it a scheme to buy votes with gifts to slackers? We report—you decide.”

They can't stand each other. Japan tried to conquer the whole of east asia on several occasions so everyone there has a bit of a hostility towards one another.

Yes America where the only time gun laws come up is when a crazy white guy goes on a rampage. Never mind the countless murders and gang violence perpetrated every day. They need to make background checks mandatory for all gun purchases and anytime someone is incarcerated for a drug or violence related felony they should automatically be registered in the database as being unable to purchase firearms. Also anyone diagnosed with a mental disability or a an illness that could lead to self harm or violence should also be registered on the list. That's the best you'll ever get in the states but it could work. Hell in just the time typing this multiple people have been killed somewhere in the world.

aqperantly you didnt read the wiki lol

for my 2 cents its more of contrast thing, a gunfight in a peacefull place is a bigger tradegy where as in a constant war zone its nothing new, aswell as people subconsiously regard gangs as scum and worthy of beong shot or as in or in equal terms since in theory everyone would have a weapon.to fix this issue youll need long periods of time [and pain] or instant extreeme sacrificial measures.gun laws wont do **** no matter how many youll make.

Did but they never said his mother kept the weapons from him and some are reporting that his brother felt this guy could do something like this. People only care when its in their backyards what about kids being killed by Mexican drug lords or used as soldiers in Africa. Tougher gun laws could help but people need to be consistent. I'm a gun owner and I'm tired of people saying to ban the non assault rifles every time some guy goes ape ****. Banning guns can help but this **** can still happen just look at instances in Europe.

Kaiju

Restricting Guns is a viable solution. Not outright ban them, so that only people who pass a mental health test or something or has a viable reason to own a gun MIGHT be a way to go. Of course all of the rednecks and conservatives are all up in arms saying that its a facist dictatorship is guns are restricted as "thats what the nazi's did to the jews so they couldn't fight back", bah. Paranoia on both sides right now, dems want more laws, republicans are saying that "the teachers should have guns to prevent this..." ugh... and yet, no one gives two ****s about aforementioned child soldiers or entire families getting slaughtered in Mexico...the double standards are ****ing immense.

In other news, it appears all the kiddies in the shooting were not just caught in a crossfire. No, they all had multiple shots each. That is just plain sick****ery. Also some guy just shot up a Hospital in Alabama, and Cops in Oklahoma stopped a teen from shooting up a school on Friday....what the hell is going on?

that would be nice but agression just stop over night, but you need to take these things one step at a time.
Take guns of the general public.
It would be nice to take them of the police as well but there will always be away for people to get illegal fire arms.

Maybe with all these school shootings they should just post armed guards at all possible entrances to the school. Then they need to keep all but one entrance locked down and have a metal detector, x-ray and body scan device before you can even make it to the office to gain entrance to the classrooms. **** wouldn't be as bad if the ****er had to get guns passed cops in full combat gear. Hell does anyone even know about the UT Tower shootings guy who perpetrated it only had one semi-auto hunting rifle the other weapons were a machete, a sawed off shotgun, and two bolt action rifles. Yes, but bombs can't be fired in rapid succession as a gun. And bombs are illegal anyways, walk around with one concealed, your ass is in jail w/ terrorism charges looming over your head. You can make a bomb sure, but that requires actual work. You can buy a gun and ammo at a ****ing wall-mart. A bomb only effects the immediate area once and it's done. A gun can keep firing more accurately at specific targets. Taking away guns won't stop violence, yes. But it will decrease homicide rates immensely as the only ways to do such violence require brainwork + effort, and are illegal to possess anyways, or put the wielder at danger themselves as is the case with melee.

Now, I am not saying we should take away guns, but you must admit that firearms are a quick, cheap, effective way to cause mass death by yourself. Bombs are too sloppy and rarely achieve the desired target or effect and actually require some intelligence, education and effort to make, and unlike guns, you can't keep a bomb on your person or at home.

^ Consider this: every New Year, in Naples, about 70 people are usually grievously injured, along with the occasional dead guy (and even those kind of deaths are generally caused by bullet-related accidents...), due to our flimsy firework limitations... If you consider that as the result of an entire night filled with dangerously large fireworks, it still seems like a relatively small amount collateral damage to me compared to the likes of a single bomb or gun. (Granted, a lot of those accidents were probably unintentional, but I doubt that even a firework intentionally used as an explosive could do much more than killing a single person)

wait... guns are illegal? but when i was staying in wigan i saw a gun shop near uh... how you call it...place where they sell coffins [and yes i chuckled from seeing that],didnt look like a hunting shop.

fire works may seem harmless because you shoot them in the air, not at people. if youll ever have a free space with no one around make a snowman and try leting off a few fireworks at it. youll understand what i mean.

I live in a town on the end of a pinincula so I don't see much of the gun crime and none of the near by towns or cities have gun shops.

Jinzo is wrong to a point. Certain types of rifles and shotguns are illegal in the U.K. As are pistols and full automatic firearms. Also in the U.S. you can't buy guns at your local grocery store unless you happen to shop at a Wal-Mart licensed to sell firearms. It's been required that any buisiness that sells firearms must be licensed and pass inspections to sell firearms in the U.S. since the 1930's. Personal sales on the other hand are unrestricted as hell.

How is that list determined, by TV ratings I guess?

Hardly, Japan didn't necessarily care that much for Hyouka. Sword Art Online would more than likely be in number one if it were ratings, while Jojo and Girls und Panzer would be in the top five.
People on the website simply voted for them. Of course, this site and our major anime sites have a incredibly horrible taste in anime.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The original Batmobile from the 1960s television series has sold at auction for $4.2 million.
A spokeswoman for the Barrett-Jackson Auction Co. in Scottsdale, Ariz., says the winning bidder has not been disclosed following Saturday's auction.
The 19-foot-long black, bubble-topped car was used in the "Batman" TV show that starred Adam West as the Caped Crusader.
The car's owner — famed auto customizer George Barris, of Los Angeles — transformed a one-of-a-kind 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car into the sleek crime-fighting machine. On the show, it boasted lasers and a "Batphone" and could lay down smoke screens and oil slicks.
Barris' publicist says his client is pleased with the auction result.

Aaron Swartz was one of the leading advocates for open access and one of the guy's who spread the word about SOPA and PIPA. He illegally downloaded material from jstor a database for academic journals. It was basically a breach of conduct because he does have a jstor account and jstor didn't press charges , but the kicker is that he did it by gaining unauthorized access to MIT's network to implement the download. Carmen Ortiz is the U.S. federal attorney to the case who basically through the book at him and charged him with every possible law she could use. It is believed that the increased charges and stress of MIT and Ortiz to refuse to sign a plea bargain might have led to Swartz suicide. The deal with Westboro is that as a church they don't have to pay taxes but if they were labeled as a hate group they would lose their tax exempt status and a significant portion of their resources due to back taxes.

Didn't they make an anime that they refuse to release in the states. Also Young Justice cancelled just like the new Thundercats. Maybe if they didn't put the good shows on in the morning when the people who watch them are asleep or working they would get better ratings.

China, I think, has more to gain from a unified Korea economically then constantly bailing out NK's dumbassery.
And I doubt Japan is even allowed to have an army more than 200,000 troops, enough to defend themselves, but not enough to conquer its neighbors such as SK or China. Besides, it would give China the excuse to rape stomp them with their far superior forces, numbers, technology, etc.

Past experiences show that operatives in civilian dress can cause serious harm. Just look at the middle east and even the Vietnam War. Just act all buddy buddy with your enemy and then tell your real friends were to send the bombs problem solved.

This is true, however there are politicians atm who are trying to repeal the constitution and turn Japan back into pre-WWII grorious nippon. Plus they are gaining in followers. But it is indeed a bit farfetched. Things like this could only happen in a worst case scenario.

Remember, this is NK. The same group who paints a cave black and says there is coal to be found there (to disguise an "invasion" tunnel, but still, what?), one whose culture is so bankrupt if you look at the NK at night from space, its pitch black compared to China, Japan and SK. Tiny as HELL GDP, Whose civilians, the moment they leave the country realize they've been living a massive lie their whole lives. Amongst the OTHER stupid and downright silly things it has done over the years including:
-Using CALL OF DUTY and Bethesda Game clips to "show of" their "nuclear reactor"
-Having two japanese film makers make them their own giant monster movie at gun point.
-Getting trolled by SK with the SK military blasting K-POP music over the DMZ, and giant TV screens showcasing said K-POP...NK just blasts propaganda.
-Its Military Budget is between five and eight billion dollars...the souths is triple that, which is more than the North's entire budget.
-North Korea's most advanced weapons are left over from the Sixties
-1 Million people a year starve to death in NK
-The North lacks the capacity to deliver nukes here, they can try it on SK, but that would result in NK becoming the world's largest parking lot from 'murica, russia or hell even China.

So really, I doubt the North has Spies and it definitely doesn't act buddy/buddy with its neighbors outside of CHina, and even China is getting tired of it's bull****.

In short, NK is just a rabid mad dog whose bark is worse than it's bite. And if it does try anything, SK would rapestomp it, and we would DEFINITELY rape stomp it. China wouldn't risk losing it's economic foothold with us in a war with us over NK (like pulling a gun on someone who is paying you a lot of money monthly because he took a candy from you, the risk far outweighs any reward NK may provide) and stands to benefit economically from a more unified Korea.

This is true, however there are politicians atm who are trying to repeal the constitution and turn Japan back into pre-WWII grorious nippon. Plus they are gaining in followers. But it is indeed a bit farfetched. Things like this could only happen in a worst case scenario.
And there are plebs in 'murica who want to secede, racist assholes who wish to resegregate the states between white and black, reinstate the Nazi Party IN America, and a petition to have all Republicans sacrificed so Mothra can be summoned ( I AM NOT KIDDING ) so every country has its wacky folks in politics (just look at the NRA spokesman) and definitely wacky followers.
With Japan however, China is still pissed over WWII and is itching for ANY reason to take Japan's ass out. So if that worst case scenario happened, it wouldn't bode well for Nippon.

Neomalysys
03-07-2013, 10:00 AM
Well it definitely looks like NK is being stupid as they have just claimed that if the U.N. places more sanctions on them they will nuke Washington, D.C. as a preemptive strike aginst the U.S. due to the U.S.'s clear aggressive nuclear threat against NK. If they tried we would blast the thing out of the sky and then make Pyongyang a ****ing crater. Hell there missiles can barely reach Japan let alone any U.S. pacific territories. At least if they try something Korea will finally be reunified just not the way NK wants it to happen.

Unlikly Nukes are deterant weapons designed to never be used as the fallout can be devastating on global scale especialy if the right wind currents and weather systems catch the.

but then you could be thinking of a nuclear power station going in to melt down and exploding.

But either Americas suffered enough for this year already they don't need anything else to blow up.

A New Zealand man has been placed in jail for watching cartoon videos of pixies, elves and other fantasy creatures having sex. Ronald Clark downloaded the digitally created pornography three years ago. He has previous convictions for indecently assaulting a teenage boy, but the Japanese anime cartoons he was found with were, well, anime cartoons.

Clark said that the videos are part of the Japanese tradition of manga and hentai (cartoon pornography). Clark's lawyer, Roger Bowden, said that the cartoons obviously did not show real people and that “you knew at a glance [they] weren't human.” He says that his client’s conviction for possessing objectionable material was "the law gone mad.”

ECPAT Child Alert director Alan Bell believes that the suggestive images are illegal because they prompt people "to migrate from there to the real thing,” according to Stuff.

"The distribution of it is damaging,” Bell said. “You have to ask what impact does it have even if it's not harming [an individual child]." Bell conceded that no child was harmed during the images’ creation but that they still represented a big problem.

Lincoln University philosophy lecturer Grant Tavinor had this to say:

"The worry is that viewing or distributing such images could support the sexual exploitation of children even if the production of the images did not actually involve the exploitation of any children."

I seen the movie, and the Sushi-owner has probably the most male lines in the film lol.
Though the original had fully English British voices in the parts of the "natives" anyways, so I feel it may be kind of redundant to go find VA's for them, granted they were very, very stereotypical, lol.

Health Benefits Of The 'Big O' (http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20130515/health/health1.html)

No, not what you're thinking:

According to sex and health experts, it is quite beneficial to both a man and woman's overall health if they have an orgasm three to five times per week - be it through sexual intercourse or masturbation. In fact, due to circumstances beyond your control, you may not always find a willing partner to achieve that 'Big O' that frequently, so, according to the experts, there is nothing wrong with 'self-service', and, as a matter of fact, you may be healthier for it in the end.

Here is what they have to say: (continues in article)

The Economic Development Administration (EDA) is an agency in the Department of Commerce that promotes economic development in regions of the US suffering slow growth, low employment, and other economic problems. In December 2011, the Department of Homeland Security notified both the EDA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) that there was a possible malware infection within the two agencies' systems.

The NOAA isolated and cleaned up the problem within a few weeks.

The EDA, however, responded by cutting its systems off from the rest of the world—disabling its enterprise e-mail system and leaving its regional offices no way of accessing centrally held databases.

It then recruited an outside security contractor to look for malware and provide assurances that not only were EDA's systems clean, but also that they were impregnable against malware. The contractor, after some initial false positives, declared the systems largely clean but was unable to provide this guarantee. Malware was found on six systems, but it was easily repaired by reimaging the affected machines.

EDA's CIO, fearing that the agency was under attack from a nation-state, insisted instead on a policy of physical destruction. The EDA destroyed not only (uninfected) desktop computers but also printers, cameras, keyboards, and even mice. The destruction only stopped—sparing $3 million of equipment—because the agency had run out of money to pay for destroying the hardware.

The total cost to the taxpayer of this incident was $2.7 million: $823,000 went to the security contractor for its investigation and advice, $1,061,000 for the acquisition of temporary infrastructure (requisitioned from the Census Bureau), $4,300 to destroy $170,500 in IT equipment, and $688,000 paid to contractors to assist in development of a long-term response. Full recovery took close to a year.

The full grim story was detailed in the Department of Commerce audit released last month, subsequently reported by Federal News Radio.

The EDA's overreaction is, well, a little alarming. Although not entirely to blame—the Department of Commerce's initial communication with EDA grossly overstated the severity of the problem (though corrected its error the following day)—the EDA systematically reacted in the worst possible way. The agency demonstrated serious technical misunderstandings—it shut down its e-mail servers because some of the e-mails on the servers contained malware, even though this posed no risk to the servers themselves—and a general sense of alarmism.

The malware that was found was common stuff. There were no signs of persistent, novel infections, nor any indications that the perpetrators were nation-states rather than common, untargeted criminal attacks. The audit does, however, note that the EDA's IT infrastructure was so badly managed and insecure that no attacker would need sophisticated attacks to compromise the agency's systems.

http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/68782000/png/_68782377_tarmac2.png

The vehicle, made by Honda for Top Gear magazine, goes from 0-60mph (95km/h) in roughly four seconds.

The team behind it may attempt to have an official go at the lawnmower speed record, which stands at 96.5mph.

In a test run, Top Gear magazine clocked "just over 100mph" on the back straight of the Circuit de Charade testing course in France.

The lawnmower was also put through its paces by Top Gear's "the Stig".

Honda said it was working on the project to increase its "sporty" credentials.

"The main engineering challenge stems from the need to retain the look of the lawnmower on which it is based, and the ability to still cut grass while achieving the speed and the handling characteristics required for this type of vehicle," said Peter Crolla, team manager at Team Dynamics - Honda's UK motor racing team partner - which is overseeing the project.

Nintendo ends Wii manufacturing (http://www.digitalspy.com/gaming/news/a525142/nintendo-ends-wii-manufacturing.html)

A message on the Nintendo Wii product page (via CVG) has since been changed from "manufacturing is scheduled to end soon", to "manufacturing has ended".

The Wii has sold an estimated 100 million units worldwide since launching in 2006.

Despite its dominance on a global sale, the Xbox 360 is believed to have overtaken the Wii in the UK and North America.

Its successor, the Wii U, has failed to make a similar impact at retail, although the release of Wind Waker HD helped boost sales by 685%.

Goddess on a hiway, a goddess in a car, a goddess going faster than ever....

Goddess on a train, no; Goddess of the train:

Every train needs a goddess. The bus needs a couple of those too.

Why Don't We Send Nuclear Waste To The Sun?

- Costs
- Dangers
