medical update: after 7 hours in the hospitol today, I am back at my sisters. today was rough, with a lot more pain than usual. i'm quite sore, swollen, bruised in many awkward places, and generally feel terrible. still, I am alive, so i guess i'm doing alright, eh?

on a sad, sad, sad note... the doctors today said two new things. One, I might be able to get some major surgery in earleir than august. second, that my sucky health problems... will likely last longer than I had previosly hoped. I've been calling this my year of hell, that as soon as I was through this year, things should get back to normal. Today, i found out that the suckiness will more than likely continue for all of this year, and most of next year as well... at best. At worst, the time table just jumped to 4-5 years.

so yea, that... really sucks.

the 'good' news is that it shouldn't be as bad after this year, but i will still be in pain, and need to come back for a lot more check ups and follow ups. so it's not the worst news... but it ranks on my top ten.

side note to my physical pain, i'm really ****ing depressed. medical woes certainly factor in, but my sister decided to ambush me with soem news today. as were driving back from the hospitol, she said she wanted to show me the neighborhood we were passing by as she and her husband are looking to buy a house. i saw no problem with it.

then we looked at the houses. they are looking at 3-4 bedroom houses. with very large yards. and good public school system.

My sister is planning a large family.

I should be happy for her, taking this step, but it hurts so much. my cousin Debbi is 2 years older than me, and is 8 months pregnant with her third child. Cousin Pam has two kids. Tim has a daughter, and my younger cousin, Robert, is getting married in October. And now this, my sister is starting to plan a family now too. words fail to describe how jealous i am, how much i want a child, how much it pains me to know I can never have one. i'd gladly go through the burning hell of my surgery a dozen times rather than wrestle with this pain. I want to be happy for her, but I just can't mask this hurt. she meant this to be good news, to cheer me up after my stay at the hospitol... and i just want to scream, to cry, to curse every God out there for making me defective.

I feel spent, as if my body's limit of pain has been reached and my mind just can't comprehend anymore. physically drained of stregth, emotionally sapped of my resolve. and yet i can only vent here, in hell, as I have to keep my poker face on, not let my family know the pain i'm in, promising to be there to help my sister to babysit.

Is it strange if Hell is my one place of comfort, that the opposite of Hell is what causes me pain?

What is it that you have, anyhow that made you so sick?


it's complicated. I have a little bit of everything it feels like some days, and what I don't have yet, I'm at high risk for. The short version is i was born with a long list of birth defects, added some brain damage from a head trauma when I was 2, and the medication to correct those two problems have killed my immune system as well as worn down the majority of my body (meaning for example, my lungs and liver look like i'm a chain smoking alcoholic, but I have never smoked and have only had 1/4 of one beer in my life). This year I am having several major surgeries done which should eliminate the worst of my problems, on the assumption I live through the surgeries (there is the slight possibility I could be dead by September). So yea, I basically just have some really ****ty health.

Though on the 'wow' side, I think i have finally met someone with a sadder sob story than me. My friend Leah ( real name withheld) age 15. She has cancer, pretty badly too. Her parents were killed last year in a car crash on her birthday when they were out shopping for her present. With them gone, her foster home has let her be abused, and has been raped twice; the second time leaving her pregnant, a pregnancy that she miscarried. so yea, I have it bad, but as I say, there is always someone out there who has it worst.

Why do people want to have sex on there first date?

some people are only in relationships for sex, and it's not just guys. that's just how some people; maybe they feel bad about someone they really care dumping them and want some pick me up sex. maybe they are seeing someone else and arn't getting any, and hope for a one night stand with a loose date. some people think sex IS the relationship, and don't understand caring for somone with that phsyical aspect. the reasons are varied, but in this world, everyone is entitled to thier own views.

if you're not interested in having sex on a first date, or even ever, it's best to be clear about that up front. if your date only wants sex and knows he/she is not going to get it from you, they might not even bother with the date. which may hurt, but it's better than getting your hopes up to find out they ar creep, especially if you do consent to sex and find out the morning after. there is no right or wrong way to go about sex; there is only YOUR way. no matter what you want, don't be afraid to be upfront about it. if your date isn't interested in that and isn't willing to compromise with you, then he/she is a poor match. Dump him/her and try looking for someone who is in tune with what your wants/needs.

to give some examples: sometimes when i'm lonely, i have met people for one night stand's. there are plenty of websites for that kind of thing, especially for women seeking men for NSA fun. on those sites, they know up front what my kinks are, and that i don't intend to see them next week.

My physical appearance, height, and overall build always gets me looks. 6'6" body of a fullback, shoulders of a linebacker. Then when I talk they get instantly hooked, so it is all good.

One thing I could suggest for anyone having troubles though is just believe in yourself. Ask any chick, they can smell confidence problems :P
