Completely unrelated to the screenshot at hand:
I wanted to check on the scene I thought the last one might have been from. Turns out I was thinking about the lakeside scene in death (http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/7765/evadeathem2.jpg) of death and rebirth, however I may have been mixing up the time of day with the watermelon patch scene. Hopefully we don't have to specify something like Bible Black -Gaiden-, which in the case of Bible Black, I don't mind being anal about it. -_-; However, as far as I know, I can only id Bible Black by the character designs, or really obvious hints, so in this case I'd have to give up.

As for other shows with 'circles', its obviously not FMA, Hellsing, or Abenobashi, and can't remember if Trinity Blood has any, but I didn't remember any from the first 7-ish episodes. The only other thing that comes to me is the Devil May Cry game which I've seen someone demo one of. Since other then that I don't really have any other guesses, I'm going with the Devil May Cry Anime?

Sorry about the delay, I was half expecting that to be a miss! ^_^; Though, the only other thing I could think of was Negima, but that's only because I've seen 'circles' on the stands for some of the figures. (I also remember FateStay's being less Greek and more Japanesey/swirly.)

The scrolling really depends on your resolution, and how large one keeps their browser window. In my case, only a 1/16 or less of the image was hidden.

My guess would be on Shinkai's Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho. For the clouds, tones, twisted rock above the clouds, and the oh so obvious pillar. :P

Note: Pub night is tonight, so if I don't proceed in the next few hours, then I may not be back with anything for 7 or so hours.

Indeed. It's very well done.

As I've mentioned a few times, I still haven't seen 5cm. But so far, even though some of Shinkai's works have been a little lacking (ex hoshi no ke) he is very good at relaying emotion and getting the messages across. Now that he his a production team, and access to much larger budgets and resources, it seems the artwork has only gotten better. I'm somewhat worried about 5cm (and improvements and new concepts), but it looks like I'll end up watching it sometime within the next few months. About time though, I already know all of the lyrics to 'One more Chance, One More time' because of lazy me and a cue file. >_>

Yeah, it might feel a bit slow depending on who you are. His first major project Hoshi no koe, was a bit weak on the 'meat' of the characters, but he is very good at relaying feelings in the context of his stories. Shinkai seems to have moved from his 'I did it all on a mac by myself' to even greater projects. The art work is very well done too. I'm not sure if you would want to start with his newer works, or with Hoshi no koe, then one of the others. You could also sample 'She and her Cat' or something like 'Other Worlds' but they are really short experiments. Shinkai has quickly moved his name up to people discussing top directors like Miyazaki, KON, etc. It may not be your cup of tea, but it might be worth checking out some just to see if it's interesting.

There may or may not be ways of finding people that can help you with some of that. :)

@abyssion: no, but that's not a bad guess. :P They are indeed supposed to have a bible black-esq look, for comedic effect. Though, as a warning, it may contain 'fanservice' of various sorts, but bible black is pretty far from it's genre.

Now that you actually have ME wondering if there's any relation between staff members...

I had to look in up, but the only connections between staff are obscure things like this: Guy that worked on the ScreenShot's Show, worked a completely different show (with a large staff count), which someone from Bible black also happened to work on.

The connection mentioned above is very weak and shaky at best. Maybe one of the unlisted/pseudo-named voice actors? No obvious connection, so I&#39;d just take it as a joke.

I&#39;m not sure about the mangaka, or who anybody&#39;s drinking friends are >_<. Nor do I care much about that sort of trivia. Then again, it would be pretty amusing to see someone randomly bring that sort of thing up in conversation...

Well, most of the first season's staff all have worked on relatively low key projects, the director changed from the first season to the second, and the third season will feature yet another director. The director for the first season was Masahiko Ohta. There's probably a way to make the search a bit more entertaining, but at this point its probably better to just finish it off.

If everyone thinks it's impossible, I'd try something like:

"bible black" parody comedy anime

Personally, while the result isn't too flattering for the show, searching for that might be is even simpler then looking for the director. :D

(Edit: I don't like the choice of screenshots in the review, but I can agree with:

If you mean the Motzart, I know nothing of his mother artistically (nor visually), however visually he and his wife sport a striking resemblance depending on the image. There&#39;s Leopold von Ranke who looks like he might be his own mother. >_> ... Or is the comparison of the Roman Emperor, which upon wiki-ing his mother, can both look &#39;close but no cigar&#39;, and then pretty close when older. Or maybe there&#39;s another Leopold that looks nothing like his mother? ??? I desire both education, as well as proper public flogging ;D

Why did this image have to vaguely remind me of Ky, and subsequently of the existence of GG 2 Overture T_T. (see last image in this article (http://www.famitsu.com/interview/article/1197837_1493.html) for the image of Ky that I&#39;m referring to.) I have to admit, there is a chance that Overture is enjoyable... Though, some of us also need not be reminded that Overture exists, at least until we&#39;ve had the chance to give it an honest go. Luckily one strategy is to only look forward (toward BlueBlaze) as it has since quelled most individual&#39;s initial Wait.. WTF Rage! ^_^;

So I&#39;ve got nothing here.. Well, almost nothing...

The only thing I get is an itching (not-quite-haunting) sense that, based on this image alone

that there&#39;s weak chance of a relation between the screenshots in question, and some animation staff that worked on the anime &#39;Risky Safety&#39;, and possibly &#39;Bottle Fairy&#39; too.

It&#39;s kinda&#39; bothering me, but I can pull anything else out of my memory based on that. Though, it bothers me enough that I fell I&#39;ll mention it even though I&#39;m not getting anywhere. :P

(Be careful because this could be completely wrong, but that&#39;s the only thing I&#39;ve got going for me.) Are there any obvious connections between the &#39;Risky Safety&#39; or &#39;Bottle Fairy&#39; staff, and the anime in question? To me that image looks damn close, but then again it might be completely wrong or almost non existent?

The minor staff.. I don&#39;t even have them close memorized. Except for the original artist, of a &#39;Bottle Fairy&#39; artbook, Tokui something. Though based on her art, I don&#39;t believe she personally has much to do with the connection. And some of the staff that worked on the two also worked together on Mao chan, I believe.. but its definitely not Super defence force Mao-chan.

Based on that image, if there is a connection, its probably infiltrated through something minor. Whatever&#39;s got me going here, is something you can see in the image, so that&#39;s either key animation, animation in between that, or something minor, and maybe by character design. (I highly doubt it&#39;s in colour coordination, or that animation direction could be very noticeable in this case.)

As for other stuff, the colour choices of hair in the first image might be helpful (to me), as well as the very weak and I don&#39;t want to even say, but higurashi-ish like surprised eye. (You really can&#39;t claim the last part though, it&#39;s too generic, and would probably throw anyone way off anyway.) The guy in blue&#39;s hair, has me thinking of nothing that gets me anywhere near what I could see as close. Though, maybe MAR, but I have a very superficial sense of MAR, and know nothing about it past the a vague plot and character designs. (And it&#39;s NOT MAR.) But the hair still looks familiar somehow...

I can almost guarantee that I have not seen the show. So I&#39;m not going to make any progress without searching around. Also, if I&#39;ve seen the promo art -- based on this, I don&#39;t remember it at all. :/

Ah! I forgot, the other person I always get &#39;Risky Safety&#39; artwork mixed up with is minor parts of &#39;Rozen Maiden&#39;.

Here&#39;s an example of a screen shot (http://amvhell.com/index.php?topic=610.msg84605#msg84605) where &#39;Rozen Maiden&#39; was my initial impression, until the feeling that looked like &#39;Risky Safety&#39; bothered me enough that I realized my initial impression wasn&#39;t correct. I realized that even though my initial impression threw me off (and that the fact that it was a doll had made it even worse) that the doll could have also been in risky safety, and I had completely forgotten it. So, considering I somehow tend to find them similar, and that I&#39;m not familiar with the Rozen Maiden staff..

Does it have any relation to Rozen Maiden?

Yeah, I was actually really tired, I had been driving in and out of town the day before, and was probably up over 40 hours +- an hour nap here and there. Then again, I can&#39;t blame the excess typing on that, but the post has a bunch of typos and grammar restructuring mistakes. It&#39;s mostly brainstorming some guesses to see if I&#39;m close, but not much in the way of condensed time-consuming (valuable) writing. I should have probably highlighted more things to bring out the possibly useful parts. :/ (The rambling was mostly directed at Kenpachi, then anyone else that thought they were close to a good guess.)

I was chatting on the phone with an old acquittance and I happened to have mentioned this about 30 minutes ago in conversation. In relation to ADV's Puni Puni Poemi + Dragon Half Double Pack Release. He's decided to buy it rather then Puni Puni Poemi on it's own.

I watched it on recommendation of a friend and her offer to borrow her copy. :P I can't remember much of them though

Random is ok if there&#39;s a good chance its a popular/well-known show. Also, things may seem random to some, but would be obvious if you&#39;ve watched the show.

After this, I&#39;m going to look up how many views it has and ask you if it&#39;s reasonable.

It may be difficult to judge based on ANN polls alone, however it&#39;s a reasonable source. (It&#39;s just that opinions/focuses differ from community to community. Though, I&#39;m not going to propose some complicated equation.) ANN would be the best for what we are currently doing. First seasons may not have as many views as second ones, so that has to be considered, but yeah.

I&#39;d just exercise decent judgement, and yeah, I would agree that Dragon Half is probably a nice in between. It&#39;s mostly about how presentable/guessable the anime is for individuals that may or may not have seen it. I&#39;ve just been lazy and taking shots from whatever machine I&#39;m on at the time I need them.
