Through some odd onslaught of nostalgia, I'm currently replaying Sonic Adventure 1, 2 and Heroes. y'know, in hindsight, Heroes isn't as bad as I thought it was. Hell, I'd even say it's underrated.

how would that max it? with me having 10 int from the start i now can have max skill points per lvl and my endurance so high when i get that booble head the max health per level too. at 30 they wouldnt help me per lvl

Recently started Lord of the Rings Online when it went free-to-play...

So far it isn't anything special. The gameplay is a bit tangled at times, a lot of the animations are just plain bad and it requires lots of grinding if you really want to do anything. The learning curve is a bit ridiculous as well. The tutorial isn't much of a tutorial; they really just throw you into the world and tell you to figure things out yourself. Professions are confusing, there is about 50 different skill hotkeys and the quest tracker takes some time getting use to. Skirmishes and raids aren't very interesting mechanic wise... Stay out of fire, defend this guy for 15 minutes, rescue that person sort of thing. If you really want to be able to do anything in the game, you'll need to either pay for Turbine Points or grind them by doing Deeds (a bit like achievements) and the deeds usually ask you to kill like 150 of a specific monster for 25 or 30 points. You need these points to do just about everything. Want to sell things on the auction house? 295 points for 5 item slots. Want more bag space? 495 points for 15 item slots. Want to be able to trade with another player? 195 points. Want to be able to do quests after level 20? Buy the expansion or spend an entire year grinding a massive 2495 points. You need points to do just about anything... It isn't very free-to-play... Its more like a free trial of 5 days.

The game has a few upsides though, but mostly its because the game has Tolkien's fingerprints all over it. The main quest lines follow a back story sort of thing to the books/movies, the music and setting really puts you into the world, and the world itself is quite beautiful. They've made this game stick to the lore like glue, but made it lack... Fun. Other cool features allow you to play songs based on Midi sounds which is a fun feature when you get tired of grind...

If you really want to enjoy the LotR experience however, go read the books or watch the movies

Currently loving Reach on 360 but when that's taken by the insolent whelps others call my siblings I'll usually be found on my computer playing either Sins of a Solar Empire or Dawn of War Soulstorm - I like 2 very much but my comp won't play it :( (Will play CoH though which my friends are eternally surprised about seeing as how I'm way below the required specs).

my life sucks? oh damn, didn't know, but thanks for letting me know. I thought all was mediocre at best, i guess i was shooting too high. hrm... and insults? i havn't the slightest idea as to what you are referring to ^^.

I like the game, and i guess my way i get skills faster, your way in the end you can have max stats, but till then your kinda crippled no? well i guess i could just not do certain areas or things so i don't have to grab certain bobble heads yet.

And the extra percs i would otherwise put into intensive training would be easier used on things like black widow or something faster. Your way and mine can both work though. its just mine i can do things earlier on that will close off those chances. but in the end have less perks. believe me i understand what your saying and yours in the long run is much more beneficial, but my way i can do more until i hit 30, assuming i have the expansions to do so, which i don't seeing as i'm playing a friends copy of the game, which isnt game of the year addition, on the ps3. but you couldn't have known that so it wasn't as if you were wrong. Just ill informed and that falls upon me.

I actually have played/love/been recommended many of those, I am putting a star for played, 2 for loved and 3 for recommended in the quote.

and I like many different kind of RPG's mainly well done ones but i play from nes ones to snes. I own a wii a ps3 a psp and my comp. i have access to a 360 aswell and own downloaded content for all systems. I play western games, and by tactics i mean from samuri legends (i consider it a tactics/action0 to ff tactics to advance wars to fire emblem to gemfire, to dofus. I have a bit of an obsession with numbers. so starcraft is highly addicting to me with all the resources and optimizing time/efficiency.... I also like most action rpg's like marvel ultimate alliance or x-men legends. when its an overview but the stat boosting and placement and diff damage types and group needs.

I am more of a support guy then a fighter or a caster, but if in a fighting game i prefer to be a caster. I love all nippon ichi and nis america games and square/enix/soft

As for games similar to it, Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth is quite similar, it's also unpolished but well written and great at both immersion and atmosphere, the difference being of course your ability to fight back and it's lack of being a sandbox game. That really if you gravitated towards the horror aspects (hotel level anyone?)

I can't say that any other game is particularly like it, White Wolf has always filled their own niche when it came to games and I suspect that the next game like it will be World of Darkness Online. Of course if I had to name a game that is most like it and doesn't just characterize part of it: Deus Ex

as a fellow jumper i must say i love the suspense in them... as long as its not too much. i love fallout, my heart races in the action or the wait and sneaking, but with things like bioshock? i cant deal with happy eery music being played while a crack head with a pipe pushes around a baby bomb in a stroller and lunges art me for my skin.... in the dark... underwater... out of ****in no where

Amnesia the Dark Descent is a game I've only started because I'm still on the last game of the Penumbra games from the same studio, they're really great at horror and the only people still doing it right: Doom 3 wasn't particularly scary nor was it really a good game. Bioshock like System Shot 2 wasn't really horror either but both contained horror elements and had really thick atmospheres so I don't think they were trying to be something they weren't

I was up all last night playing Castle Crashers with my two friends. We had nothing better to do so we ended up playing through it twice. The first time was sick. My Green Knight hit like a tank and killed people twice and fast as my friends characters. The second play through was lame however. I tried out magic and agility and got destroyed. All in all a good game though. Worth the 15 bucks.

despite all the crashes I still love magicka, Ive compleated it 5 times now and got about 40 hours of gameplay in but recently Ive encountered a crash that never used to happen and it makes a level unplayable so Im very sad face untill this is patched :c

Aw man! Got my Sega emulator working again today. Once I'd gotten my new laptop with windows 7 it started messing up. I figured it just wasn't compatible with 7, but i just randomly decided to fidget with the video settings. worked like a charm. So I've spent all day play through Shining Force for the 5th time. It's like a 3D sprite maker, and you have to make 5 or 6 different sprites for your character. Nuh-uh, no thanks, I'll stick to the premade ones, thank you very much :P

So I 'beat' MK9, for the 360 today. Bought everything in the Krypt, completed the story mode, did all the characters stories in 'ladder'. Now I'm going to go from 'easiest mode' to 'hardest mode' and do it all again. I have a feeling I'll be quitting it real fast.

Still need to beat TransFormers: The War For Cybertron.

Here is the issue: I have pirated Minecraft. The only way I can play with non-pirate Minecraft players is for you to turn your online mode off, but I doubt you'd want to do that.
