All I will tell you is that it is a horror anime so if you are not a fan of "Saw" like movies then don't watch it.
There are also currently three seasons plus a small ova and at least two live action movies coming out (hope they don't ruin the original show).
As for me, I am watching about 20 different anime simultaneously (take it from me don't do this. I tend to get confused what I was watching).

and hellsing is far better in english than original

you're right for the wrong reason, if you really care about language continuity then you have a problem, it was good because they had a GREAT cast and you can almost never go wrong with Crispin Freeman

Yeah, I've read some of the manga. It is a HELL of a lot better than the anime. I have nothing against the manga really, it's the anime.
