Take my advice and drop Claymore around the 18th episode. It starts to diverge from the manga at that point and gets a nonsensical ending.

To my knowledge, there aren't any cyber ninja rape jokes either, yet my mother managed to invent some while she watched me read Taimanin Asagi. I expected her to think of SOMETHING besides "that girl's tits are out." Maybe a lame pun along the lines of "isn't it a bit too early for blast-off?"

Remembered I was watching Valkyria Chronicles and Accel World. Left Accel World on episode 17, which had a plot-twist, now I'm trying to get back into the show with episode 18 which shows what the one girl is doing during the previous episodes time-frame, which goes and kills my interest, because I was wanting to know how the previous episode's fight would go.

Also, why are there no Ghost Rider jokes, when there's the guy with a Skull for a head who rides a motor-cycle.

I know why my tv is ****ed up. It's because of the idiots who wired my house for cable. Now I have a power booster on the line and if it is moved even slightly the cable goes out but everything else still works fine.

I'm currently torrenting some of my favorite animu so I don't have to stream them getting them in some quality. So far I have all of Tamers and Fate/Zero saved, otherwise I need to watch some new animu, though I have seen the first two Berserk movies.

The CGI is very meh in some places, but the scenery is damn gorgeous, and the battle scenes are greatly improved from what they were in the original anime. Although I hate the Zodd fight, the CGI for his human form is very...eh and the as one of my friends pointed out, its like the movie seeped the grimdark from the scene as both manga and original anime had a very dark setting making the fight more foreboding, here its too bright and sucks some of the suspense away especially with the derpy Zodd 3D model, which could be much more effective if it was obscured by darker lighting.

Some parts are left out/skimmed upon (as expected) such as Gutts aversion to being touched, while other parts (such as Gutts backstory... all of it including his night with 'Bubba') are touched upon in an interesting matter which avoids a pace breaking flash-back sequence. The Second is definitely better than the first movie as it covers things a bit differently from the anime and even manga though Griffiths relationship with the governer of Doldrey is barely skimmed upon, and the fight with Boscogne AND Adon plays out differently than from the manga/anime. Also as is probably already known, it jumps right into the Golden Age avoiding the whole Baron thing in the original anime or setting up whats to come...which I imagine will make the Third Movie, Descent a massive WHAM moment for new viewers as it won't expected and no will expect what is done there.

The Best thing easily is the soundtrack by Shiro Sagisu, I love the original Hirasawa score (and prefer it in some places) but Sagisu does a damn good job, "Blood and Guts" and "My Brother" are ear porn. Played during the epic battle sequences elevate them quite substantially (mostly) making up for the **** CGI in some places.

In short, if your a Berserk fan, you'll probably enjoy them if only for it retelling the Golden Age Arc and the eye and ear porn that is the battles, scenery and music. Newbies, stick with the manga first.

Yeah. There's parts that are fully animated, and parts that are fully live action, and parts that are mixed. All the full live action parts involve close ups of the MCs hands as she's doing something cooking related, like cutting up a tomato, opening a can of beans, and the like.

Near as I can tell, it's a romance story, kinda like what you'd read in one of those books with Fabio on the cover, except instead of dating like a pirate tycoon lord or CIA agent, she's dating a garbage guy. Yeah. No joke.

Also, watched half of the first episode of Seitokai no Ichizon Lv. 2. It's apparently the second season. Had no idea there was even a first season. Didn't hold my interest very long though. Though I did find the abrupt art style change near the beginning amusing.

Just an opinion but maybe when listing your anime, if it's maybe only one or two you are currently watching, you(we) could post a picture of the anime/main characters to give those who are unfamiliar with it an idea of the art style? idk just a thought. I suppose since im posting here I should participate as well. Well one anime I have been watching is a comedic parody anime that I think is still on going. It's called Binbougami ga! The main premise is there is an essence called "fortune" that all living things
naturally possess. Once their fortune runs out they will almost certainly die. One girl, Ichiko, happens to possess an ungodly amount of fortune and passively leeches fortune from those around her unknowingly. To correct this imbalance a god of misfortune, Momiji, is sent to prevent her from leeching anymore fortune and to steal her current reserves to distribute it back to where it belongs. Ichiko won't give up her fortune without a fight, which leads to a host of comedic situations. Ichiko, in the picture below, is the "fortunate one" with the large breasts where the god of misfortune, Mojimi, is flat chested. lol

Because the "day or two later subs" suck and are woefully inaccurate.

This is false. UTW's subs are vastly superior to Crunchyrolls. At the same time, Commie's typesetting skills are vastly superior to anything available. Crunchyroll is the poorman's resort that only reaches the bottom-line. But, hey, why don't you judge for yourself? This looks like some AAA subbing and encoding, right? Good ol' Crunchyroll.

That, and I actually like to support the companies, no matter what you're opinion on that is.

Your placing too much merit on "support." Are you supporting the companies? I guess. In a small, nearly nonexistent way. If you want to support the companies you could, you know, stop looking for short-cuts to merit yourself a "I support the industry" argument and actually purchase the inflated Blu-rays and other merchandise. Compare giving some pocket change to a children's hospital to giving a check for 50,000 dollars. You are nothing more than the pocket change. You really aren't making a difference. "Every little bit helps" isn't always a viable concept.

I never said I was supporting them with millions of dollars. And again, I got this month for free. Once my free trial runs out, I'll probably stop the subscription and save that money instead until I CAN buy the merchandise.

So you buy every show that you watch fan-subbed? Have to take your word on the subs being from CR, haven't run across that in anything I've watched over the year or so I've been using it. Though I use the free version (with a commercial) of CR anyway.

I do buy shows, but only for series that I really like/have already seen on CR or Funi; so I know they are worth paying $10+ more for a half season of half-hour anime than I pay for a full season of say Game of Thrones/(insert non-anime show here). Probably have a few hundred dollars in anime on my shelves right now, but acquired by a couple of shows a year...

What is it with the 'half season but pay full season prices' trend in anime these days? Don't they remember how the market crashed 5 or so years ago when they were jacking up prices like today?

Welcome to Kyoani's SafeZone! In Kyoani's SafeZone, you get to watch as an incredibly skilled animation house avoids any sort of risk, chooses mediocre character designers, and constantly rubs the fact that they COULD do something great if they weren't afraid of Nichijou or Hyouka-tier sales (Which is odd because Hyouka sold fine enough, but "fine enough" is apparently a ****ing disaster for 'em.)

Got to watching The Garden of Words. It was okay.

Visuals were superb, but animation was about average as far as movies go. Outside of that, it was rather forgettable. Didn't really get the names of the two characters until a little over halfway into the movie, I still don't really get what message they were trying to convey, and I just feel that the directing didn't really play up anything to really make me give a damn for the ending. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the directing was the sub-par, the animation was average, the visuals were sublime, and its setting/ plot really had some great potential and could have become something I'd recommend - if it weren't for the directing.

watching My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU

it's quite amusing

It's kind of intelligent, and involves relatively human characters, in that they each have their own little psychoses. I like how despite their intellectual opinions on various aspects of social group dynamics (ie, the main character hates the idea of them and is opposed to being involved with people in general, while the female lead is alone more as a result of her own hyper-awareness of the banality of it all), they are exactly as powerless to resist the natural human responses those dynamics evoke in them as any other person would be. That is to say, just because you are aware of the insanity of the world, doesn't mean that you are somehow free of it.

If you liked or at least saw that "ore something something something" show where all the episodes were titled "something something is a battleground" or "something is something, but it's still a battleground" etc, it's similar to that but more intelligent and involves only half as much making fun of otaku delusions of grandeur.

Started watching and then reading Shingeki no Kyojin.

I would be more enthralled if they stuck to their guns in Episode 5 instead of pulling the ****ing obvious protag gets-new-power speel as it would established that any one can die and thus the tension for what characters I do like to be that much more gripping. Or even more gripping if the he was in perma-titan state that would have been a freaking interesting twist to explore. But it is a Shonen series so Its to be expected, little boys and weeaboos can't handle a wimp or strong female character as the protagonist, or hell even Jean would have been an interesting choice but no one gives a **** about Jean, nope. Though the design for the Rogue Titan is ****ing boss I will give it that.

That complaint aside, it has some nice visuals, character development, and good damn the tension and suspense is good in the first couple of episodes especially in the Battle of Trost where it felt like (for a moment at least) that anyone could die. The Titans are creepy as **** and invokes a good sense of primal fear in the viewer, there is something about a humanoid giant eating a struggling person alive like a white trash murican poppin' cheetos that is just uncanny and chilling on an instinctual level. (and it isn't vore swallowing either, its as scary as being chewed and eaten alive should be) As well cementing a good fear of them as you don't know where the **** they came from, why they devour humans (they don't have digestive systems so its not nourishment) amongst other traits which make Titans both frighteningly human and eldritch and alien at the same time.

Up to date with the Manga as well as the episode where it left off left me wanting more, anime does the development and pacing a bit better I think than the Manga does as we see the characters actually get develop in chronological order instead of a flash back to said training that happens after most of them are already dead in the Manga. Hopefully the anime will do a better job building up and adding appropriate cues to the reveal of who the Armored and Colossal Titan really are, as god damn the manga handled that moment piss poorly, there was no tension, lighting, two page-spread, nothing just casual, small panel, blink and you miss it dialogue. Though I will admit, the author does damn good and ingenious use of subtle foreshadowing.

Also, whats this I see? Non-over sexualized homosexual relationships between characters?! In an anime?! Whats this I don't even! (Referring to Ymir/Christa and Reiner granted Ymir and Reiner are Titan Shifters so that may explain their lack of sexual preferences.) Usually, homosexuality is highly over sexualized and hit over your head, props to the subtle normality portrayed here.

I rather like it, overall. One of the better anime this season in any case. Hopefully the manga can deliver a satisfying finale and the anime keeps its quality throughout.

Also: Obligatory post about Mikasa's sweet ass.

I watched that solely for the visuals, i think the message they were trying to convey is thats its ok to fall in love with your teacher as long as you both are constantly skipping class.

Picked up Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei. Only finished the first volume, but that first volume was a pretty fun read. The art's pretty sweet, too, though I've got a hard-on for Ishida Kana's art. Of course, I really hope that it doesn't get adapted - generally because I know the audience it would attract would be dreadful.

And Yumekui Merry's newest chapter was fan-****ing-tastic.

Pharos wasn't that tough in the end...

He just relied on someone else's power for most of the fight, his main one pretty much just being his "hidden weak-point"...

Can't wait to see Walt Disney's true strength, though... Hopefully it's not just going to be "borrow more powers" again...

Sort of self-aware of the concept and how ridiculous it is as well parodying the characters it features (Rin Mockery, Illya's inherent Lolicon tendencies for her "Onii-chan ", Shirou being everyone's chew toy) and thus parodies the genre itself. Though reading up through the manga its based on, we are going to get some loli/loli 'action' come second season as well as "Loli Archer" and "Shota Gil"... joy.

Though without my laptop (and thus my WORK, porn, torrents...) I might take this time to watch more animu, namely Watamote or some older classics.

She returned the favor by getting me into Soul Eater, which she had been watching on Netflix while I was at work. I think it was a good trade. I love my some Excalibur.

Edit: Double checked Netflix and saw FMA: Star of Milos has been uploaded, so I'm checking that out. Had no pressing need to search for it because it doesn't add anything to the canon. I'm not really big on anime movies which act as a filler story for the main story.

My Little Monster

In the first episode so far, I've had quite a few laugh out loud moments. but the whole "kid who doesn't understand how to act yet is super-cool and strong" thing will probably get old fast, so hopefully there's other comedy in the works.

It seems to be of the wacky romcom variety, sort of like a vague mix of Kare Kano and School Rumble... mellowing out the super-ridiculousness of School Rumble, but retaining some of the wackiness of the characters, and taking the art style somewhat of Kare Kane and the serious, scholastic-minded central female character but injecting more Wacky into the comedy. Kare Kano was both hilarious and excellent, btw.

Finished My Little Monster

Almost at the end of FMA: Brotherhood and Welcome to the NHK

I like Brotherhood a LOT more than the original series. the story, mainly. far more interesting.

Shippuden, One Piece, Beelzebub, DragonBall GT, and D. Gray-Man.
Just saying, if you haven't watched D grayman, think first. The manga is way better. the anime is plagued in fillers. But i'm gonna fight through it until it gets to some better parts. only 70 episodes till the end... If only the manga wasn't on hiatus.

Finally got around to watching Evangelion 1.01. Not bad, but basically the first few episodes of NGE with cleaned up animation. I understand it improves in the following films?

2.0 diverges quite a bit from the television series and is probably the best of the Rebuild series so far.
3.0 is all original and is pretty dang bad.

People all seem to be enjoying this show called Watamote, so you should probably watch that to stay current. Not sure if you were around for Chuunibyou, but people liked that show for a few weeks as well. Personally, I really, really enjoyed the 2012 version of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, and I recall you liking One Piece, so you may enjoy it.

Doing some wishful thinking over there, Back?

Anyway, I saw the first episode of One Outs last week. Looked pretty interesting. I'll have to check out the rest of that show later.

If you like 90's-style anime and anime with dragon chicks (Bahamut's a loli :P), you may enjoy Zettai Boei Leviathan.

New shows: Servant X Service, Attack on Titan, and The Eccentric Family.

The first is dull, the second is awesome, and the last is wonderfully weird. I dropped Stella Woman's Academy out of complete disinterest after one episode and don't have a strong desire to see anything else that's on the air. Maybe Watamote if I come in prepared, but my hopes are low.

Just got back from Elysium. Not as good as District 9, but not bad at all.

WATAMOTE is my favorite currently airing show. Of course, the only other simulcasts I'm following now are Dog X Scissors and Railgun S.

I've been trying to watch Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer, but people won't stop interrupting me whenever I try to start it up and this really isn't the type of show I want to watch in front of people.
