As far as I know (and Wikipedia) there are 3 anime conventions in my country, The Netherlands. But I think that is pretty much enough. Chibicon is 1 day. Abunai is 3 days. You can go just 1 day yes, but going 3 days would be so cool. But the tickets, food, sleeping spot and all is about ?130. And then you still have to buy like a truck load of merchandise. And the other, AnimeCon, is 3 days as well. So 3 cons a year would be pretty much enough. A lot of money is spent on it :P

Where do you live, what country? And 1 con is nice to, I don't think I will go to all 3 anyway. :P

The first in the year is AnimeCon, which is in May. The second, Chibicon, in July. And the third, Abunai!, in October, usually I think. Since this year; 26 to 28 September ^^

It's at least a lot bigger than Chibicon, and that was already freakin awesome :)

You know, I was thinking about finding some conventions close to you in the U.S... but the state directly south of you is North Dakota: one of the least populous and most boring states in the nation. Not much hope of finding a convention there :D.

Whenever I go to the con near my house, Anime Boston, I try to get stuff I can't get anywhere else without ordering online (roll down posters, figurines, manga in Japanese) and then buy a whole crap load of manga on top of it all.

I bought a wall scroll from Naruto, but you could also order it online. But I never really do that, except for the manga. I just buy at a con which I like, not thinking about if you maybe can order it online, since I don't care. And you can order everything online :P I also bought a figure though.

And I didn't buy manga at Chibicon, since they were a little expensive. At Archonia they are cheaper. And I don't think I would buy Japanese manga yet, since I can't fully understand it. I can read the Hiragana and Katakana symbols, but don't know all translations... most of them not lol.. Most likely I only know how to pronounce it ^^ But I will buy it later :)

Actually, if you're learning Japanese like me, I strongly suggest you buy a Japanese manga that you also have in English. It will allow you to piece together sentences and kanji meanings. Helps to have a dictionary though.

I am learning Japanese, just a bit at the moment now though. And Kanji is pretty much the hardest part ..

And I have to consider getting Japanese manga then. And if I don't want to buy it, I always have the interwebz. And a dictionary would be nice ^^

I just would like to know this: What do you guys download? Avi or RMVB?
I prefer RMVB, since I can store up way more on a DVD. The quality is a little down, but not as much that it's unwatchable. It's pretty good quality I think.

Yeah. Avi is better quality. But not as you state; alot There is difference, of course, but not as much. And I prefer RMVB, like I said, for the fact that I can store more one 1 DVD. With AVI I can store like 25 eps. And with RMVB at least 65. (I took the average of 65mb per ep) But I stored 135 eps on 1 DVD one time (Dragonball episodes)

It consumes some less DVDs :P

You realize that this will require a hard drive the size of the INTERNET? And that it might get a little boring after the 200th episode?

I mean, the ridiculously long and pointless Shounen Jump remake series are perhaps the only easily defined genre I completely and wholeheartedly dislike, no exceptions. The only redeeming qualities appear in manga, where the artists' actual talents can shine through the painfully predictable plot and character design.

Remember, art and original (though not really) abilities were the only reason I slogged through a hundred and fifty chapters of Naruto. And Black Cat was only slightly different in that it ripped off the plot from an original and entertaining series (Cowboy Bebop) and not from the same crap that got put on late night TV (crappy voice acting included!) LAST YEAR.

Repetitive can be awesome. I just think that AWESOME (One Piece) should be given in smaller batches. That's all. Perfect example: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Vaguely similar plot to many shounen anime, but in a 27 episode format. Much better quality, hilarious characters (that don't get overused) and come on people YOKO KICKS ASS.

Of course I'm a little biased, but too many filler episodes has always been a turn-off for me. And even if the series is pretty good (Bleach), I could still watch 4 shorter and equally, if not better, series in the same time it takes for me to watch every single Bleach episode and NOT GET A CONCLUSION.

I get your point. But I don't mind watching the long ongoing anime without a conclusion. I watch Bleach, Naruto and now One Piece. I also like the shorter anime though :P And as long as fillers contain some humor and action, then I don't mind watching them at all.

I still have a lot of anime that I have to watch. I made a list of my anime which I got, watch, and still have to watch in Excel. When I watched a ep it automatically tells me how many episodes from which anime I got left to watch. As of now I still got about 2029 episodes left to see, while I have seen like 1352 :P

I watched all episodes from Naruto (1-220) There were a lot of fillers yes, but I watched them all so it seems a few of them were nice, else I wouldn't have watched them in the first place.

The long anime I'm watching now are Naruto/Naruto Shippuudden, Bleach and One Piece. Long series I watched are the Dragonball anime... And I do the same, once a week I watch the ongoing anime, and the rest of the week the anime which I already got complete.

Me neither. But I already saw a few AMVs and some battles. I thought it was pretty awesome. First I didn't want to watch it since it is so long, and was not in the mood to download them all. But I started yesterday and I downloaded the first 80 episodes now, and still busy doing the others. And watched 10 eps. I like it, it's awesome ;D

But I don't mind long anime. I watch a few at the moment. (Bleach, Naruto Shippuuden and One Piece) I count Naruto Shippuuden as long anime, although it only got 66 eps now. The reason for that is because Naruto and Naruto Shippuuden is one manga... so.. they only made 2 anime from it :P

Huh... you know, I just played one of the best RTS' I've ever tried yesterday. And it's in-browser. It's called Pandemic II, you can find it on Newgrounds. You are a virus (or bacteria or parasite) with the goal of killing every single human. Really fun, and in my case, addicting.

the first season of code geass was great, but its ending left me anxiously waiting for season two (which was 6 months away at that time) due to its cliffhangerness...

so far every episode of season two has made me go WTF at least once, either from sheer awesomeness or random event that ends up getting explained in the next episode.

basically season two likes to backhand you, make you yell WTF, and then explain whats going on. which happens to me every week becuase season two is still being released, episode 15 came out yesterday.

ok I&#39;m gonna shed some light upon you how to look better. Not saying you don&#39;t look good the way you are, since i believe that every person looks good enough the way they are, but anyone can look even better. Cut your hair to a lenght where they don&#39;t hang in the air then use some spike-style gel [or wet effect some, whichever you prefer]. I guess that would be a length <8 cm. Get some proper clothes like some fancier t-shirts [try orange, it&#39;s in this year, also white, maybe some red and not mono-coloured, maybe some tattoo-like pictures on them] some nice pants (punk style, narrowing downwards, screw color). Can&#39;t see your shoes but i bet you wear sandals. Don&#39;t, get some white / white black / white-black-red trainers and a pair of fancy black shoes (if you don&#39;t already got them) [oh and yes i guess sandals are still ok to go to the beach] Oh and while there, get at least a base tan. Well, now you&#39;re all set yourself, just what&#39;s left is to clean up your room [optional i guess] and GET A PLASMA MONITOR. xD there, i gave you the guidelines to looking even better, you are welcome to use or to ignore them. And pm me if you want any personal advice, i&#39;m kinda ashamed but i used to do this for a living while studying.

Actually, I am fighting the power. See, the vast majority of the internet is anonymous. This allows people to lie randomly with no consequences, do indescribable damage to intellectual property and each other. I&#39;m not saying that everyone should be forced to identify themselves, that would be a form of informational fascism (think of the system that would organize that process. Whoever was in control of it would have far too much power for any one person to have). I simply see the anonymous format of the internet as potentially dangerous. I feel in many ways that I&#39;m fighting the anonymous power of the internet when I go ahead and identify myself. In a way I&#39;m saying "come and get me, spammers, fyshers, and hackers! You&#39;ll just strengthen the common man&#39;s case until your kind is completely eradicated!". And maybe by me doing it, others around me will see the strength that will come in numbers and join me. So yes, I&#39;m fighting the power!

And to validate this rant, I&#39;ll post two pics. The first one I just took, that&#39;s my kitchen and that&#39;s my usual outfit. I couldn&#39;t find my favorite shoes (they&#39;re all-black, leather, and dressy-looking) so I wore the flip-flops I just got today. I don&#39;t wear jeans when it&#39;s really hot, though. Also, orange is my favorite color if no one remembers.

Okay, there&#39;s a story behind that pic... if I can stop laughing :D. I was at a wedding, and my uncle had this camera. He had it pointing at the ground and I was asking him how many megapixels it had. But he was talking to someone else so I just leaned over to look at the front of the camera (it usually tells you the resolution of the camera on the front).
