I feel like **** today. i'm still sick after a month, and now i'm depressed. One of my long term friends, Nikki, just wrote me off. She is a die hard republican - i don't know why - and with the election coming up, she has been spamming my inbox with a republican propaganda. I asked her to stop several times, and she kept doing it. In anger after her latest mailing, I wrote her and said if she didn't respect my wishes and remove me from her politcal propaganda campaign, i was going to mark her e-mail as spam until the election was over.

She didn't take it well, obviosly. she said i won't ever recvieve anything form her ever again, and insulted me for good measure. It's bad enough my body feels like crap, but this feels like being kicked when i'm down, you know? Hell, when I had my nervous breakdown two years ago, it was Nikki who dropped everything and drove across three states to come visit me, to support me when i needed it. All I wanted was to leave politics out of our friendship, and she's made it to be all or nothing package.

I apologize for the not so happy rant, but I is one sad girl at the moment.

so i'm told. it's a character flaw of mine ,but i put everyone above myself. i'm one of those people if you were to shout insults to my face, i think "well, he/she proably has a good reason."

the day in question was actually quite odd. I was in town, going to see my mother for brunch. i was walking down the side walk, and guess who comes out of the stores? we had one of those awkward "hi" moments, and we chatted. e actually came with me to have brunch with my mother, so the three of us sat around a table having coffee. Just me, my mother, and my rapist. The only actualy republican i've spoken to insisted on McCain "because the party said so." When that's the best reason you have for voting for a guy, i think it's pretty sad.

For the record, I voted, but not for either McCain or Obama. I like Obama over McCain for Obama's healthcare plan is better a facet I admit I am a tad biased on) but I don't think either of them were great canidates to begin with in the first place. Still, I have yet to see anyone give a reason for voting McCain other than he's a republican. And Palin? My god, the woman is insane. Lastly, I am biased in saying I would have love to see an educated woman (NOT PALIN) in the white house.


I personnally feel the two party system is terribly flawed, and I almost never vote for a democrat or republican to voice my dissent with this system. I voted for the Green Party in former elections, and signed my name to the ballot to get the socialist party on the ballot before that ( if they had enough signatues to be on the ballot, i would have voted socialist).

If I had my way, I would disband both democrats and republicans, and ban them from re-forming with those same names. Instead, i'd have many parties form under similair ieas of what they STOOD for, so people would vote for those who shared similair ideas with them and not a party label.

and my own persoanll feeling ,but since the USA is supposed to have seperation of church and state, i would prohibit any political group from forming on the idea of being "gods party" as the republicans would have you beleive they are. thousands flcok to the republicans as they supposedly are the moral party, the religious party, and that's just hogwash. Yes and no. While it's true that men are the ones who are faster to resolve to violence, but when women do too they are far worse. Let me explain. Normal men don't hit women, even in the slums (at least in Poland). So, when women from the bad parts of town burst out into voilence they can be pretty much sure that they can go really far against men without consequence. I think this is just stereotyping waaaay too much.. How the menstrual cycle affects a woman and how testosterone affects a man is different in everyone. Not all women will go berserk if someone spills their coffee, some might but certainly not everyone. Exactly the same thing with men, some get angry easier thus clouding their judgment. It all depends on the individual. I'm going to use myself as an example: I get angry pretty easily but instead of aggressive behavior (as in starting a fist fight) I'll tend to glare at the person and tell him to "**** off". yes, love them. I played MERP for years, as both played and GM. MY little brother plays them too, and it's quite fun. We also did BESM (Big eyes, small mouth) the anime character pen and pencil RPG. Ever wanted to take a RX-78-6 Gundam through the lands of Trigun? Ever wanted to know want Gaara of the funk would do in an episode of Bible Black? BESM is the way to find out :)


2. video games

Yes, quite a bit. I mostly play hand held systems (GBA, DS) as I'm usually travelling. Once I get my new laptop, i might get into PC stuff more. I usally play RPG's and strategy games. Suikoden is a must for RPG fans, and Romance of the Three Kingdoms is a msut for stategy fans IMO. My guilty pleasures include Castlevania: Sympony of the Night, Megaman X4, Vandel Hearts, and the Dynasty warriros series.

well, duh. :) I jumped on the anime band wagon just as it was "getting cool" and was one of the people who woke up at 5am to watch "Sailor Moon" before school started. I remember when I first started watching anime, I had to hid "Akira" in a locked drawer as it was considered "too risky" for american audiences then :/ Anime has since main streamed here, and Iv'e enjoyed many a series. I have my degree in english, and initially was going to school to become an english teacher ( i had a focus in early English literature, with specilization in Chaucer and Shakespeare). For books, I love the "Thursday Next" series of novels by Jasper Ffrorde, and recomend them to anyone who likes to read. I like Salman Rushdie (Haroun and the sea of stories, Satanic verses) Terry Brooks (shannara series), Christoper Rowley (Dragon Ultiamte series), the book Romance of the three kingdoms ( which inspired the game series above, and is the second most widely read book in the world next to the Bible) and of course I have a soft spot for the works of Tolkien. As a guilty please, I love "where the red fern grows" as it's the book that helped me to discover my passion for reading, as it was the first book to make me cry.

sorry, i do like to write. i used to want to be a writer...but that fell through pretty badly. i haven't been able to get creative in the last few months due to..wel, unpleasant circumstances, and so i make up for it by typing really long e-mails and posts. it may not be the best kind of writing, but i feel the need to write all the same.

I also do enjoy writing, but I don't tend to practice it as a recreation, just for school and the occasional creative spurt that I bother to write down. The other day I wrote down a very absurd conversation I thought up (in bed, where I tend to have such thoughts) that two people might have on a plane, in theatrical style. I might post it, it's kind of interesting and amusing.

As a small child I made it a very common and recurring habit of mine to start the first few pages or few chapters of a book and then not bother with the rest, and the furthest I ever took a novel was probably around a hundred pages. Of course, during all of these linguistic endeavours, I never actually planned out how the book itself would end, or anything about it for that matter. I just wrote stuff down, invented characters and put them into funny and mysterious situations assuming, being the arrogantly overconfident literati that I was, that whatever I wrote was awesome, and anything I wrote in the future would continue on that path. Of course, I still maintain that mentality to this day, but now it's actually justified with genuinely positive feedback and my own lack of naivete. :) That, and these days I actually know how to formulate a successful plot.

Damn, all this talk of creative writing is making me wish that the idea of "Phantoms Dream of Kisses" was still enjoying success...making me wish that maybe we might revive that old chestnut, that yet-to-blossom flower, that deliriously diaphanous a priori conceptum...

I know what you mean, zorg. I had a similair experiance. I would write for the thrill of it, not caring if it was good or not. Then I took some writing courses, see how far Icould get, and that stroked my ego big time lol. I was called "the next douglas adams" for my wacky style of writing, and recieved praise from all of my "good" teachers ( i had a string of really ****ty sexist teachers who tried to say thigngs like "Women like you shoudlnt' be worried about careers" and nonsense. I didn't win them over, but I don't count them). Still, despite all the praise, I was never picked up for publication, and eventially gave up. I do still like to write though. It's how I met abyss; on a forum about writing lol.


Botom line is: writing is fun, but don't let it consume you, or letp raise go to your head :)

lol for the record, i've only deleted one post, ever.

and yes, i missed myself passing the 1,000 point mark. it's not hard to do when i seem to have the last post on the entire first page more often than naught lol. being stuck at home for so long has it's....advantages? does having no life count as an advantage now?
