Rant:

So I just found out my best friend had a miscarriage. It was three years ago, and I didnt' even know. The same year, her mother was killed. It's around the anniversary of both deaths, and she's feeling...well, like ****. I burst into tears just listening to her tell this tale, of the pain she carries.

I feel like I should do something more than mumble "i'm so sorry" a thousand times as i did. I just...don't know what to do. How does one even begin to heal that kind of pain? I honestly don't know how she is coping with it. I know i'd be a wreck if i lost my child like she did. I know nothing I can do can ever cure that kind of hurt, but I just...i don't know...want to help? I just feel so useless. She's my best friend, she's in pain, and I feel so powerless to help.

Any ideas?

After a while, let sleeping dogs lie, and just act like you normally would. While it is terrible, you should attempt to help her to move on, and just be a good friend by making it seem like everything is ok (AKA Don't bring it up, and just treat her like the best friend you've always had)

Same here in Poland. It's getting better though. What surprises me are some of the titles available - 4 out of 5 Satoshi Kon's works are available (the one not present is Millennium Actress), while there are not many mainstream hits.
Oh, and I think I liked Tokyo Godfathers the least of all Kon's movies, which doesn't mean I think it was bad.

Ellen, the only thing i can say with good conscious, is that as sad as it is that your friend passed away, it would hundreds of times sadder if they were to be forgotten. i know how it feels, same thing happened to too me last summer. Pretty hard in the beginning, but after a while you get over it. I know I sound like a jerk now, but that's the truth (for me at least).

I'm bad at saying things in these situations. But I'm sorry for your loss, and may his soul rest in peace.

My condolences. I've gone to far too many wakes for friends younger than I am. I used to drink baby bottles next with my cousin Stephan, and he's been gone years. My lab partner Vince died at the high school....one day he was my best friend, sitting next to me in class and leaning in with a dirty joke to make me laugh...and by the day's end he was taken from us forever. Then there's Alex, who died at age 7 to cancer.

All I can say is that this is part of life. It sucks hard at times, and we all get our turn to be it's punching bag. I will never forget those i've lost, my friend, my family, and I know how sudden it can be. For me, I learned to never hold anything back, live today as if you were going to die tomorrow, and never hold a grudge as you never know if if it's the last time you will see this person again.

Remember your friend in your own way, and take what comfort you can the memories you two had. And if you can, try to better yourself from this, as it's what your friend would want.

Be strong, but do not be afraid to grieve. (hugs).

I hate autumn. The weather is just so... so... 'meh. Snowy winters are cool though (pun intended). And I like the summer here - it rarely hits 30 degrees Celsius, and even then there's a cold breeze from the sea. But when I was in Connecticut... now that's a different story. The temperature was around 40 degress Celsius 2 weeks in a row. I thought I was gonna die..

well, i have some good news, wait scratch that, i have some news that can be considered average and some bad news.

first off, the average news, the campaigns will be longer with more of blizz's great cgi cut scenes.

Bad news, the three campaigns are being split into 3 different games, Terran first, Zerg about a year later on the release track, and the protoss a year after that.

small upside, all races will be playable on multiplayer from first game, but there are some units that only show up in the campaigns. also, the zerg campaign has some sort of "rpg" elements, and the protoss campaign will have some "diplomatic" elements...

I'm unsure as to how to take this, but i am sorta annoyed, this may turn out good, or it may kill the series...
