It's referring to the severity between the "war" between the humans and the BETA. (The BETA don't even think of this - nor see this - as a war, though. They don't see the humans as living organisms). 1) BETA stands for Beings of Extra Terrestrial origin which is Adversary of human race (Retarded as **** acronym. Big Extra Terrestrial Assholes is more accurate). The BETA were biological weapons created by The Creator, who is a silicon-based life-form - because of this, the BETA only see silicon-based things to be living (Humans are carbon-based life-forms and they didn't believe that carbon-based life-forms could exist) In the universe, there are "10^37" BETA (Whether this refers to the BETA in general, or Superiors is beyond me; however, I'm inclined to believe the latter).

2) Because they don't view humans as living-things, they see them as resources. In their eyes, they are recycling the humans.(They don't really "eat" humans. They just store what they can inside themselves) They use the "resources" they have "gathered" to produce more BETA.

I rather enjoyed Extra!Caster's CCC design, it hit all my fetish spots (thigh highs, high heels, DAT HAT) and the fact its practically a bondage outfit already (dat leather harness) I'd be crazy not to do it. That and I need the practice. Red Saber's design is normal though.

Have any of you guys read Necromancer. It's a short little 20 chapter manga with a pretty cute ending, if not cute all throughout... It's about a man named Asutsuo Faust who's a necromancer in the Slums district, and he can revive the dead (duh) for three years at the price of three years of the applicant's own life, and a young police officer named Shilverase Ricott is convinced that he's a criminal and won't stop investigating him, and there's a shady cult-church called Magdalene that wants to destroy Asutsuo, etc... For such a short read, it's really good. I was surprised. I thought for sure that, being so good, it would go on longer, but now I find out that it's only twenty chapters... What a shame... But all good things must end, right?

In short, Rin, Emi and Lilly are pretty much the same, albiet a little less polished on Rin's side and Lilly is much more of a Mary Sue.
Hanako and Shizune on the other hand....

Hanako has FOUR, INCREDIBLY HORRIBLE BAD ENDS.

1. Hisao had another heart attack, and Hanako saved him with CPR. Hisao wakes up in the hospital with broken ribs, and they plan to put a pacemaker in. Hanako is in a locked facility for mental patients. The doctors tell Hisao about how Hanako ran from a boy who confessed to her in middle school, and when the boy chased her he got hit by a car and died. I'm not sure what happened when Hisao had the heart attack, but apparently he was also chasing Hanako.

2. You can choose to disobey the doctors' orders to not see Hanako. Hisao and Lilly go to her room and find her mumbling "I killed them all." She sees Hisao and freaks out and shoves him in the chest and he starts puking blood and dies.

If you wait, Hanako visits you after the pacemaker is put in and the doctors allow her to leave. Everyone goes home but Hanako is unresponsive and just stares with her head down. Over the next few days, Hanako continues to act all zombie-like, barely conversing even with Lilly. Eventually she is in Hisao's room, and asks him why he loves her. Hisao can't really answer immediately, and Hanako claims that he wants her body and begins to undress, and lays down emotionless on Hisao's bed. You can choose to have sex with her or tell her to get dress.

3. If you choose sex, as soon as you penetrate her she freaks out about how Hisao really does only want her body. Hisao stands up quickly in shock, trips because of the pants around his ankles, and breaks his neck on the desk. He is paralyzed, and dies right after Hanako calls him disgusting.

4. If you tell her to get dressed, she does and leaves your room in tears. Hisao realizes that Hanako isn't the same person anymore and goes into her room and tears it apart looking for her pills. He flushes them down the toilet. The next morning, Hanako acts normal, claiming that it feels like the fog has been lifted from her mind. Hisao excitedly invites her on a date. They go to a park or something where they had their first kiss. Towards the end of the date, Hanako acts more depressed than usual. She says she's sick so she wants to take the subway home instead of walking. At the subway, she talks about how all she ever does is hurt and kill people, and that she doesn't want to hurt people anymore. She throws herself in front of the train.

Yeah...

Her True end is where she get's pregnant and she is very happy about it.

Shizune's Route...

Misha gets depressed like in the main game...but COMMITS SUICIDE. Shizune spirals into depression. She reads Misha's journal, where she learns that Misha still loved her and wished she could speak more freely. She reveals that she has been lying and could read lips, and only Hisao knew. She regrets not telling Misha she loved her and that she could have spoken to her without signing. This isn't a bad ending, its an actual part of the story. Then the difference between the good end and the bad end is whether or not Shizune also kills herself. If she does the last scene is pretty much her stretching out her hand from the hospital bed, which Hisao interprets as a wave goodbye, and he just kind of leaves and she dies a few hours later.
It's also worth noting her family is a lot different.

Only in Hanako's and Shizune's route though, the rest were the same albiet less polished and Lilly was a total mary sue.

Oh boy, you guys are at it again, huh? I'm not getting involved in this because I don't feel like dealing with such a huge thread, but I will say that after watching the first episode of Kamen Rider Ryuki that it was pretty damn awful. Having not watched much of the series I can't make any fair comparisons or whatnot (except each has a bunch of sickening Japanese cliches), but I'm done with the series but still have patience for Madoka somehow. -"School Days" An upbeat OP song that introduces the students, sung by most of class 3B, with each group of characters getting some part of it, ends when they are all put on the bus. Gets a dark, tragic reprise at the end as the final song of the musical.

-"Battle Royale" sung by the Overseer and the Instruction Video Lady during the "instruction", Military back up singers and dancers. It's upbeat with lyrical dissonance.

-"Loyalty's End" A Noriko/Shuya duet during the first night of Battle Royale starts of tragic but ends on more hopeful note. Gets a small solo reprise courtesy of Shuya, during the aftermath of the Lighthouse scene.

-"Natural Born Killers" One half of the song is sung by Mitsuko while she takes her first kill, while the other half is sung by Kiriyama while he guns down his gang. Gets a brief reprise when they meet, but Kiriyama cuts it short by gunning Mitsuko down.

-"Announcement Chorus" Much like the Bad-Horse Chorus from Dr. Horrible's Sing Along blog, this plays whenever the Overseer announces the "danger zones" and those dead. Reprises itself twice.

-"Stick it to the Man" sung by Shinji Mimura and Yutaka about his plan to shaft the Project. Gets a brief reprise when they have the bomb, but Kiriyama cuts that short. (Kiriyama really hates Reprises)

-"Friends like these." Shuya, about Shinji, Hiroki and (the late) Yo****oki.

-"Kill or Be Killed" First half is sung by Kawada (being Brutally Honest) towards Shuya, the latter part is by Kiriyama to whoever he's about to kill next.

-"Empty" Kiriyama's big number in the climax (his Villain Song), really shows how far his sanity is slipping, and how he can't feel anything and everything's okay even while murdering all of his classmate's.

-"Plans" Sung by the Overseer about the Project and how he knows what Kawada did, but Kawada turns the tables and sings the latter half.

- "School Days Tragedy" The final song and tragic reprise of the first song. The rest of the cast plays the choir while it focuses on Shuya and Noriko.

Needs something with Hiroki and Takako/Kayoko otherwise this is good rough outline of what COULD be done with such a premise. As you could probably tell, it's total, utter black comedy and an affectionate parody of it's source material, but still sticks with the tragic themes with a good number of the songs present....this can work.

you seem to have missed the point, ANIME CAN BE COMPLETELY RETARDED AND STILL HAVE SOME WATCHING VALUE, while such things in real life are simply mind degradation.
i know using FLCL was an extreeme example, yes its retarded, yes it pisses me off to no tomorow, but i watched it all and i found it interesting because it was different then most anime and probably nothing that current producer could crap out in hollywood, even the "deep" plot pieces made more sense then the matrix. -"Plans" Sung by the Overseer about the Project and how he knows what Kawada did, but Kawada turns the tables and sings the latter half.

- "School Days Tragedy" The final song and tragic reprise of the first song. The rest of the cast plays the choir while it focuses on Shuya and Noriko.

Needs something with Hiroki and Takako/Kayoko otherwise this is good rough outline of what COULD be done with such a premise. As you could probably tell, it's total, utter black comedy and an affectionate parody of it's source material, but still sticks with the tragic themes with a good number of the songs present....this can work.

I've pretty much forgotten all the characters' names, but this sounds pretty good so far. This would most likely be a flash project of some sort, right? You or somebody else should start up a thread on Newgrounds or something and see who you can get to work with you on it.

I can't really say as I haven't seen it; however, Wikipedia makes the manga out to be Devilman meets Pokemon. You could probably make an argument that it is a deconstruction of the Train Your Monster-esque series; however, as I said before, I haven't seen it, so I can't really make a call on that.

If that's the case I would say Digimon Tamers did that somewhat, especially with the amount of backstory going into it, the origins as to why the mons were created, the governments behavior to said monsters appearing in their world, and characters personalities and development (except for Ryo), and of course, the ending and final enemy. It's not evangelion dark, but a good deconstruction doesn't need to be.

Once again that's a bad example though. Superman is a Mary Sue, it doesn't even matter if an enemy gets a shot in. Plus people hate all but 1 and 1/2 of the Superman movies (which are overrated). There are countless animes such as DragonballZ that bend time in a nonsensical way too. This whole issue pretty much only applies to Japanese media anyway.
