You know what they used to say about PC ports of previously console exclusive games? It's true. I tried playing Mega Man Legends and there was no mouse/WASD support whatsoever, so I was better off playing the PSX/N64 versions. They expect you to just use the arrow keys to move around and only let you reassign firing controls.

My cousin would always give me his hand-me-downs.
Not such a bad thing because my uncle would spoil the **** out of him so I'd get the NES, with two controllers and the gun, plus all the major classic like the first Mario/Zelda/Metriod/ect.

Yes, there are a lot of nice games coming out lately (and disappointments, but I don't want to start another ME3 rage thread).

Sadly, though, out of the ones you listed, only Persona 4 Arena is available for the 360 :( , and I haven't really followed that series.

Also, I remember that image of Tamaki from Bamboo Blade :) . That was an interesting show, while it lasted. Hopefully they'll have another season some time soon.

Well, there are quite a few exclusive franchises on both systems, though I agree with you that XBox is getting a lot of the more well known ones lately. I understand that the appeal of any system relies first and foremost on its selection of games; the quality of the hardware, for most, comes second. I do know that PS3 still has a number of Online (Arcade) exclusives, such as Fat Princess and, sometime soon, Closure (not counting the PC/Mac release), as well as others that I can't list off the top of my head. XBox Arcade does the same thing. In truth, neither Sony nor Microsoft can be held to blame for which consoles franchises are on, because, ultimately, that is the developers' decision. Should Microsoft try and focus on releasing its own unique franchise(s)? Certainly, and since Sony is being generous in allowing many of their exclusives to migrate to the XBox, Microsoft should show the same courtesy and release some of their exclusives to the PS3 (I do not know if they have done so with any series other than ME, even though only 2 and 3 were crossed). For instance, it would be nice if, when Halo 4 is released by 343, the first 3 Halo games (and its other spin-off/prequel games by Bungie) could be made for the PS3, exactly like, as you observed, with the Metal Gear Solid series. Speculative, I know, but it would be nice, wouldn't it?

For any large company, yes, money is the primary concern. With the small team developers, though, it's more a matter of programming. I watched the trailer for Closure on Newgrounds and asked if it would eventually be released for the 360, and he simply replied that, with only one programmer, designing the game for one console was hard enough with their deadline. Certainly, money is a major concern when developing any game, but time constraints by employers, sponsors, etc. and other restricting factors play into their decisions. While I would like to see many games crossed between platforms, not only between PS3 and XBox, but between consoles and PCs in general, there's the issue of code. Code for each platform is very different, and rewriting an entire game for another platform can take much more time, and considerably more funds, than many companies wish to invest in their games. Also, there's the issue of contracts between the developers and Sony or Microsoft in general. Even if the developer decides that their game would make even greater profit if it were released on multiple consoles, Sony or Microsoft could likely restrict the game to their console for greater profits on their behalf, in taking the most advantage of a given contract. So, among profits, time constraints, and a vast number of other reasons that probably only the developers know about, games are released exclusively for any given system despite what their audience says. Does that mean they don't care? No; of course they care, if the people aren't happy, then no one buys their games. They simply need to cater to the largest possible audience for the best profit they can manage, because business is business, and they do their best to make sure they remain in business long enough to finish their franchise.

Oh no, I don't own a gaming PC; I just believe that there are some PC games that could get a better reception on consoles. However, it's not so much exclusive titles as exclusive content; players of Skyrim on the PC, for instance, can create their own mods. In addition, Bethesda is developing a system that will give PC players all of the development tools that they used to build the game so that they can create their own content - Bethesda-approved mods, in essence. However, many games don't allow that level of customization on consoles; it's only available on PC. I believe that Unreal Tournament III also has a higher level of customization tools (for character creation) on the PC than on the XBox, and I'm certain that there are plenty of other games that have the same contrast between the two versions. Of course, I understand that not ALL games can run for both consoles and PC; nor is it practical to do so for many PC and XBox titles. Some were not only licensed for PC, they were designed to be played on PC; an attempt to port such a game to consoles would certainly be impractical. I understand that you can't mod an XBox or its games as easily as a PC and its games. It would simply be nice if developers didn't discriminate quite so much between consoles and computers, and there are certainly developers who not only prefer, but cater specifically to one or the other. Valve, for instance, released The Orange Box for both consoles and PC. For consoles, the amount of content was VERY limited; on PC, there were numerous perks that you could modify and take advantage of.

That being said, I know that there are many factors that prevent games from being available on all platforms: a keyboard can't function the same way as a console controller or vice versa, licensing restrictions, and an entire list of other reasons that I won't bother to put down. I'm just saying that it would be nice if there was a little less discrimination between Sony, Microsoft, PC/Mac, as well as the games and their console/computer exclusive content they have available for each platform.

A little bit of both. So far the only things I've downloaded with are games/VN's (like katawa shoujo) that only really had one file. But with things with multiple different folders, that require two or more torrents to DL I'm at a loss.

Still playing Final Fantasy Tactics on PSP because other games are unimportant.

I think this is my 10th or 11th file on this game XD I don't often bother to beat the game, I just go for getting every item, mastering all the jobs on my characters and getting pretty much everything there is to get. Love this game, never get tired of it.

but what is HHD ram?
On most Windows PCs you can use space on said HDD (or even a thumbdrive) as you would RAM.
It can be a little slower, depending on the HDD, but it works pretty good and I've noticed for some games that they run SMOOTHER if I leave about 6GB open.

Lawl. You know nothing it seems. The HD mod of GTA 4 as well as basically all mods for games are PC only. Main reason, consoles cannot handle them.

Main reason is that in order to use mods on consoles you have to make alterations to the hardware (not 100% the Wii can be modded by just an SD card BUT if you try to get games that way a firmware update will render you wii inoperable) The real reason most console gamers don't is that they don't have the basic know-how

Funny thing about the Play Station 4, from what rumors put the hardware at is it is already out dated. It will use basically the GeForce 560 GTX which is becoming the bare minimum in PC gaming hardware, lawlcannon.

I played on hard mode to begin with and it was still relatively easy. Of course, I was going for a lethal run.

That being said, I often engaged in shootouts with cops for no real reason. Just tore apart the police station after "accidentally" knocking out someone I was trying to interrogate. And then I was involved in a 20 minute standoff...

Great fun, that game. Though not as enjoyable as the original Deus Ex for me.

I did that my first time around and...killed EVERYONE that wasn't a quest giver/merchant because I wanted to see how many I could via head-shots and such.

However trying do to the WHOLE game as a stealth based character is a bit...difficult.

Then the boss fights come around and you're like...
"O, **** it, just make sure you use some lube on your dick...you're gonna rape me anyways'

Eh...There's just something I can't bring myself to like about most FF games; whether it's the turn-based battles, who seem to be overused waaaay too much nowadays, after all the FF and FF-based RPGs, and now is just starting to look quite boring. Other times it's the annoying save points of the older FF games; in the FF3 remake for the DS, the only place you could save your game against an extremely hard boss was on the map, about 45 minutes away from the actual final boss (of course, if you died, you had to bust your ass off for another hour to actually even simply get back to the point where you had died last time to get your ass handed over to you again). Or maybe it's because the answer to nearly everything in the game is good ol' fashioned level grinding, and lots of it...
And then there's the story and characters. Good God, from the first games to these days, there always seems to be something wrong with at least one of the two; sometimes it was the story that was simply plain awesome, or even simply interesting, yet the main heroes were more boring than watching the grass grow, ranging of emotionless cyborgs/ angsty groaning bitches to Captain Obvious' League of Self-Evidence. At least in a good quarter of the games the main character is "Chosen Hero Guy of the Day". Then there's the cool characters with the interesting backstory who end up fighting boring villains or are shadowed by the world's general stupidity.

At the point you see there, I was just between going for a culture victory (only 5 social policies away) and destroying his capital (which I did). Artillery freaking rules. No strategic resources necessary, just pump out some units and POUND THEM INTO DUST

You know what grinds my gears? The fact that gunplay is almost nonexistent in Wild Arms XF. I mean, you could always use guns in the first few games, right? Seems like you only get one party member that can use firearms of any sort, even with class switching. Of course, I'm still on the first few missions, so it might be a little different later on. And before you comment on that, because I know someone is going to: No. Family Guy didn't invent that phrase. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles did, if I recall correctly.

In other news, I got me a copy of Warhammer 40K: Squad Command. Pretty good so far, but I appear to be stuck on a mission. Let's put it this way: I don't fight too well when I'm badly outnumbered.

Also, I've started playing Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. Pretty... interesting so far. No real complaints other than those escort missions being sort of annoying. Well, that and those taggers.

Hell yeah, Civ V!
Only problem I ever had with it is perhaps the 1-unit-per-tile system, as well as perhaps the fact that you had to make far larger armies and generally try to concentrate your attacks on 1 city at a time if you were going to conquer anything with your army, due to the enhanced "City Defense" updates, but that didn't bother me too much...

Yeah district, I been playing a lot recently. I actually was looking forward to and love the 1 unit tiles and especially love the city defenses! Finally I can leave my cities empty and explore, fight barbarians and harass people without fearing a warrior barbarian will take my Modern city.

I just downloaded a host of "End at --- era" mods that jmake the tch tree stop at whatever era mod you enable. I've wanted that setting for so long... now I can play as japan and be in the medieval age the whole time!

the reason i asked whats the reason i launching a next gen console that is weaker than the current gen consoles is because of cross format games.
which the wii missed out on.
games like FFXIII,Fear 1-3,Elderscrolls,mirrors edge,bioshock,metal gear hd collection and won't be getting zone of the enders hd collection.
so this can only mean that with the ps4 and 720 using the same the hardware and both apperently going to have blu-ray.

What exactly was wrong with it?
The campaign. It has two campaigns the problem is there's 4 factions, so while I wanted to play Eldar I got stuck with a campaign that's mainly IG, my friend had the same problem, he wanted to play Orks but spent and awful lot of time playing Chaos. The campaign itself also just sucks, can't get involved with the story. The ones that came after by turning it into a territory control war game made it much better.

No, nononononono, The outright stole races, but this was way before there was any kind of Warhammer video games it was tabletop at the time. Same Genre but Starcraft was never a defensive game.

There were, but missions are wonky, there are defensive missions in Starcraft 2 as well, it still doesn't make starcraft a defensive game in anyway, it's balanced entirely around aggression, a lot of those hold such and such missions were easier to beat if you went off, found the enemy and just killed them first. It's not like AoE where a defensive strategy is a really big thing.
