I got over 18 hours in two days, in AC4: Black Flag.
I've probably only gotten 20/30 hours in the rest of the series COMBINE.
BF is actually, what's the word?
FUN.
I probably won't like IV at all then. I'm actually having FUN with the other games. AC1 I beat, and it took me 25 hours. AC2 I haven't beaten yet....and I've put in 39 hours thus far into it. I'll play AC2 for 6-8 hour gaming sessions at a time, and even then I have to FORCE myself to stop and take a break.

I just finished it. I got it with the PS4...when it was released
I had too much fun Plundering and fighting the legendary ships.

I'm just addicted to Minecraft, World of Tanks, and PS3. In PS3, I just hanging out with my friends in PS Home. I also played Battlefield 4 on PS3. Oh yeah. There is upcoming anime crossover game similar to Super Robot Wars was called, Super Heroine Chronicle. But only released in Japan.

Yes. I am a fan of Super Robot Wars. But this game is a spin-off to Super Robot Wars. Focus on moe. My friend from Canada, BassGSnewtype love Super Robot Wars. I hope that he will get 3rd Super Robot Wars Z volume/episode 1.

i bought it few minute after i did my post. im just lvl 7 but it good so far It's a fantastic game.
I've sunk about 100 hours into it.
Some other PS3 games:
3D Dot Game Heroes - It's like a parody/homage to classic Zelda games.
Batman: Arkham City - I like it more than AA.
Blur - A sort of 'adult' Mario Kart.
Civilization: Revolution - A streamlined version of the Civ series, that plays rather well.
Darksiders II - Pretty damn good action/puzzle game, so much better than the first one it also feels like a totally new franchise.
Demon's Souls & Dark Souls - Games that will grow hair on your testis/ovaries.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Surprisingly good FPS with stealth elements, but the boss fight do feel out of place.
Dishonored - First Person Stealth/action game, reminds me of 'Thief light'.
Disgaea 4 & D2 - Both fantastic SRPGs.
Dragon's Crown - One of the best games to come out in a decade, a spiritual successor to the likes of Golden Axe and Double Dragon.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen - Action RPG that was improved/fixed by a rather decent DLC pack.
Dragon Age: Origins - It's sort of like Baulder's Gate, with less disc swapping.
EDF: Insect Armageddon - A 3rd person shooter set in a sort of cheesy Japan Kajin film setting.
Fallout: New Vegas - Because FO3 was, and still is, ****.
Folklore - Surprisingly enjoyable 3rd person action game.
God of War HD Collection - There's actually two of these, one is GoW 1/2 and the other are the PSP games. Both are worth getting if you like the series.
Heavy Rain - Interesting idea, poor execution, but a solid experience nonetheless.
Journey Collector's Edition - Contains Flower, Flow, Journey, and a free 1 mouth PSN+ voucher. All great things.
Katamari Forever - It's a Katamari game, and it's fun. Roll **** up, because, reasons.
Killzone Trilogy - Solid FPS series, worth at least a rental to play though the three.
Kingdom's of Amalur: Reckoning - Surprisingly good open world RPG, with combat that's really enjoyable.
ModNations: Racers - It's a kart game, and it's fun, but you might like LBP Racers more.
Persona 4: Arena - Made by the Guilty Gear folks, with Persona characters, nuff said.
Portal 2 - 1st Person Puzzle game.
Ratchet & Clank HD Collection - Has the first three games in improved graphics, still fun games after all this time.
Rayman: Origins - Amazing platformer, don't forget about the sequel which improves upon it.
Red Faction: Guerrilla - GTA on Mars, with more blowing **** up.
Sleeping Dogs - GTA in Hong Kong, with less guns and more melee weapons.
SSX - Return of one of the few enjoyable sports series.
Transformers: War/Fall of Cybertron - Solid 3rd Person Shooter/action series.
Tomb Raider - Reboot to the classic series that does everything right, best TB game in years.
Twisted Metal - Car carnage, probably the best TM since black/2.
Ultimate MvC3 - Great fighter.
Valkyria Chronicles - Fantastic SRPG with an engaging story and OST.
Vanquish - 3rd person action/shooter in an over the top setting.
Warhammer 40k: Space Marine - Surprisingly good 3rd person action/shooter set in the WH40k universe.
Yakuza 4 - 4>3.
Zone of the Enders HD Collection - One of the best mecha games of last gen, made better looking for the new gen.

Wait what? Have you ever played Deus Ex? It's always been an action RPG. Neither a shooter or a stealth game. The boss fights are fixed in the Director's Cut.
Sleeping Dogs - True Crime in Hong Kong, with less guns and more melee weapons.
FTFY
Tomb Raider - Reboot to the classic series that does everything right, best TB game in years.

Also I just have got to add the Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection.
Contains Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid VR Missions, MGS 2, 3, 4 and Peace Walker.
Also contains Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 within MGS 3.
Another serie I can somewhat recommend for just having a laugh are Uncharted 2 and 3. Don't really bother with 1 unless you absolutely have to.
Uncharted is pretty **** but worth a playthrough or two.
Also get Nier. Now.
If you want fighters,

It's still in development. The problem is they wanted to make the game so good, detailed and wonderful looking that they ended up not being able to deliver a finished or even working product when they had to demo it and release it. So, currently they are trying to work all the kinks out of it and getting all the trademarks and patents back etc. so they can reintroduce the game. Kinda like what happened to FF versus XIII. Problem is, the team working on it is pretty damn small and it doesn't help anything that Fumito Ueda left SCE in 2011.

Journey was mentioned before. Other than that you might be interested in Little Big Planet without diving too much into the ****-tier of videogaming.
Consoles genuinely are a bad place for replayability and relaxing. Strategy games are the only games I can think of that would fit that description but that is left for obvious reasons to PC.

That is true. Uncharted 3 was just pissweak in it's "mythological" aspect. I mean you only see Jinns once and that is during a hallucination. Plus the big treasure you eventually see is pretty much curbstomped back into oblivion the second you get to lay eyes on it.
But my smack talking of Uncharted just mostly comes from me hating Nathan Drake/Nolan Norths' conceited ass.

Well when grown-ups talk about stuff the online babbies are sure to see if it is a good game.
They will probably ruin the experience by making hip cool new may mays out of it. Either that or they will grossly and blatantly "miss the point."

Finished Assassin's Creed II after putting in around 50 hours total. Damn fun, and I LOVED what they did with the credits. Wasn't perfect, but still pretty awesome.
The one thing that pissed me off about the game was the camera automatically adjusting itself to show where you need to go next.......often mid-jump. I swear, every time this happened I heard a voice saying "I'm helping!" No camera, no you are not >_>
Played ACII: Discovery in-between sequence 12 and 13 in the main game, since that's when it takes place chronologically. I was hoping it would be like the PSP Bloodines game. You know, the one that added extra story that was ACTUALLY IMPORTANT? But no, turned out to be more like the previous DS game: Altair's Legacy. Pretty much nothing but filler randomly thrown in for the sake of justifying making a spin-off game on the DS. Except this time it had even LESS importance. Altair's Legacy did add in that chick "Adha", who was briefly mentioned in one of Altair's codex pages. So far, I have yet to see any reference in the main story to anything that happened during Discovery.
Now I'm playing the next game in the series: Brotherhood. Only played a couple of hours so far, but I'm already having problems with the camera "helping" me :|. On top of that, Ubisoft decided to completely redo the controls for this game, and it won't let you remap the buttons to how it was in the previous game (at least, not on my 360 controller). So now I'm targeting and/or going into high profile mode when trying to change the camera angle, and opening up my weapons wheel trying to get into high profile mode. I'm sure I'll get used to the new controls eventually...I just hope they didn't change the controls yet again for Revelations and/or III >_>

I don't play chronologically as in "specific time periods". Otherwise I would have a hard time with all the modern-day stuff in the Assassin's Creed series.
....then again the modern-day stuff was more or less thrown in randomly just to have some excuse for all the history stuff to fit together. So far the modern-day stuff has only been "semi-decent" at best. If they were to make a modern-day spin-off to complete Desmond's story (which I believe was completed anyway during III), I would probably skip it. Especially considering how boring the gameplay is during the modern-day sequences.

Minerva should of just told Ezio about the temples and **** rather than speak "through him" to Desmond. Ezio was far better assassin than Desmond is and will ever become, especially when you consider where Desmond gets his skills in the first place. Sure, Ezio and friends didn't have the technology to travel the world (or even the knowledge that the world is round, for that matter), but shouldn't Minerva have been able to show Ezio how to get said technology the same way she showed Desmond what happened to her and her kind through Ezio? Seems to me like the Templars were actually less powerful back then, too. Oh, and higher numbers of Assassins.....Assassins that don't get killed left and right by the Templars. To Desmond's credit, though, he does seem to actually be the best modern-day Assassin.....which is pretty damn sad, quite frankly.

Ancient China and feudal Japan would be nice but things I'm willing to go back to the series for are:
-High to Late Middle Ages
-The Spanish Inquisition
-Some sort of Scandinavian exploration. Maybe something involving the kingdoms back in the day.
-Cold War scenario.
-WWI scenario (WWII has been done to death and beyond, it's time **** focused more on the first great war).
-Victorian scenario(They could do something sweet involving Jack the Ripper).
-Something during the Khmer Empire or the Siam Kingdom.
-Something during the Tsardom and The Russian Empire.
And there are several more things I could think of but they need to do two things to have me coming back to Ass Ass in Crack.
Either they need to bury it and consequently forget about it.
Or they need to make some good and original games.
But honestly, It's just too late.

A little before the creation of Abrahamic Faiths, and thus Assassins (Assassins are derived from group and word 'Hashashin' and took out rival Islamic rivals and rulers, so AC never made much sense to me) and Templars.
So far-east cultures are pretty bust there as Christianity and Islam has little to no foothold. Though the SHimabura Rebellions with Amakusa Shirou as could be interesting as hats the only real time Christians had much conflict over in Japan (and for added irony, they were persecuted) plus most of assassination and Shinobi activity was on the Christian Peasant side of things, so it would be bit of a role-reversal or wouldn't have much historical basis if an AC game tried to work with Japan.
China would have a much more workable contact with the groups Templars and Assassins derive from having been the capital of Kublai Khan during the height of the Mongol Empire and its position on the Silk Road would provide an interesting cold war sort of deal as neither group would have any sort of established "conspiracy" or roots there yet. Japan would be HARD as they essentially barred off all western contact during a majority of the later years of European Age of Exploration. Be interesting if there was a suddenly third faction of a Buddhist/Taoist/Confucian/Shinto orientation to provide counter-operations against the Templar or Assassins though. As outside of Indonesia, West China and Russia, East Asia doesn't have much Abrahamic Influences, an AC game which focuses on the conspiracy battles of Templars and Assassins, would not make much sense there. Plus its also worth noting, historically, the Hasashin Order was destroyed when the Mongols invaded Alamut in 1256.
(In terms of AC Games I have only played the beginning of Brotherhood, otherwise I am clueless outside of jist of the franchise and 2012 prophecy bull**** from ALiens and ancient conspiracy, so I don't know how badly Assassins Creed botches its history outside of Ezio being friends with Maciavelli and similiar "Beethoven was an Alien Spy" type shenanigans, so I am giving it the benefit of a doubt for now...I get a feeling it really botches it though.)

It's a little thing called "historical fiction", Kaiju. The games are meant to be BASED on history, not to emulate it perfectly. Although I will admit, there is more than one occasion where they stretch it a little too far...
And yes, historically, the Assassin's and Templar's were both disbanded long ago. It even mentions this in the game....and then rectifies it by basically saying "we weren't disbanded, we just started operating in secret." In other words: the Templars are now a stereotypical secret agency secretly controlling the government and ****. 'cause you know, that's NEVER been done by games such as MGS or any RPG's or anything before. Nope, never. Totally original. (In case you're still too stupid to understand, Guts, that was sarcasm. I actually am being sarcastic here).

The fact that Assassins and Templars still operating is not the issue. In fact, the latter is featured in every modern conspiracy theory. Aliens? Knights Templar. 9/11? Knights Templar conspiracy. Holy Grail/Blood of Jesus? Knights freaking Templar. They are not the issue. You blatantly disregarded my point that unlike the past few AC games which focus on a heavily European and Western-centric areas, the far east would be hard without completely disregarding all sense of historical immersion, and the fact that Greece was before the faiths which created said orders didn't even exist yet. Historical Fiction or no, that is ****ty story telling if you try and use a group from this time period and using them before they even existed without odd out of reality time-travel ****. The Assassins being in Ancient Greece would be comparable to an ancient order of Navy Seals fighting Genghis Khan in Mongolia that is kind of some large claims to just accept in a mostly "reality" rooted setting.
As Historical Fiction has tiers you see, you can slap and hide behind the label all you want, but you better have your **** and facts straight. History has a lot of interpretation and missing places in how people really acted and thus easy to make Historical Fiction, however AC is sort of a grave offender as it blatantly disregards the reason why one if its main groups exists. This is an easy fix such as saying the AC Assassins were inspired by the old group despite not carrying on their message (see: Guy Fawkes Masks, the original Guy Fawkes wanted to bring Catholicism back to the UK by killing the protestant parliament, nowadays his face represents revolutionary spirit regardless of his original intentions), but in AC they want us to believe that these Assassins are the actual real deal Hashashin, no Islamic ties, just pissed off at the Knights Templar for what ever reason, which kind of hurts the immersion a bit. With Historical Fiction you are allowed slack, but completely missing the ****ing point of why certain groups did what they did kind of hurts it.
Like Science Fiction, Historical Fiction has degrees of accuracy. And the more you try and explain away or root itself in a real setting the more it gets hurt when it does such things wrong. Such as Hard Science Fiction (which uses mostly real science and firmly rooted in possible reality) getting all of its Science wrong, AC gets a lot of its history wrong. I would be more forgiving if it was tongue-in-cheek light Historical Fiction which features King-Arthur-as-a-girl-tier wackiness, but for all intents and purposes... Assassin's Creed tries to go for Hard Historical Fiction, and falls flat in terms of the historical immersion because of its lack of research. Although from what I've seen of the "Tyranny of King Washington" DLC, it may well be Light Historical Fiction AU-the south won the civil war type ****, so I may be completely and utterly wrong about AC here. In case, disregard any of this ****.

I'm not even mad. I was merely explaining the tiers of Historical Fiction and how AC fails at what it sets out to do. As well as going into detail, hell outside of sayin' you disregarded my point, there is no real insults in there.
And its not even that big of text wall, I've done much worse on less.

True, I have actually seen that.
And I would have to agree that AC doesn't do a good job at what it's trying to do. I still enjoy the story, as far as the "historical" stuff is concerned, but they could of done a LOT better with....well, with the whole thing INCLUDING the "historical" stuff. I probably wouldn't actually enjoy AC all that much if the gameplay wasn't so fun (for me, anyways. I can see why other people would hate it, though).

True, sound is quite ****ed up with everything else too loud to properly hear the sub-par voice acting. Although AMs' voice is quite sound and a treat to listen to. Gameplay is just too simplistic and at times just utterly bonkers plus the game just feels really off in it's design. Perhaps intentional to fuel frustration and despair but still.
The book wasn't much better, though.
Bull, it was a Hugo Award winning iconic genre piece. Pretty much the first piece of literature concerning Artificial Intelligence turning on humanity. Given it is a short story and more a literary presentation of "The scream" x Francis Bacon but what it lacks in literary finesse it makes up for in just sheer mind terrorizing tension.

Random things to do with triple A gaming
the new trailer for watchdogs doesn't look anywhere near as good as it's first demo from E3
also Apparently Titanfall on XB1 only runs at 30fps and on 720p, it's frame rate is apparently dropping down to single digits when using the mechs.
Oh Thief on XB1 and PS4 are also running at 30fps and 720.
How love the PS4 and XB1 look at our amazing consoles we have 30fps and 720p.
I know it's not about graphics but sony and microsoft made it a graphics war and now their both failing to meet the bence they set with PS3 and 360.
It's a pity for the WII U owners who'll have to play Mario Kart in 1080 HD at 60fps with the same standards for Wind Waker and I think Super Mario 3D World.

2 VERY important things you need to consider with your post:
1. The XB1 and PS4 are still both pretty much brand-new consoles. Developers haven't fully grasped what all they can do with the technology yet. Launch titles are almost always worse than later titles when it comes to the technical stuff. Also (and I've said this numerous times before) if you care more about the technology of a console than the games it plays, then you're NOT a gamer. You're a technologist. Get it right, and get over it.
2. What's your source? Is the information even trustworthy?
Personally, I don't really care about frame-rate just as long as the game doesn't look like I'm playing in slow-motion the whole time. At the same time, however, the developer should still try their best to make their game the greatest it can be. Just because I can deal with less doesn't mean you should make me out of laziness.

1. The thing is that these new consoles are meant to be the big step forward but seem to be struggling to do what the ps3 and 360 were and are doing. I'm just being overally cynical of the situation.
I'm not expecting them to run every game at 60fps 1080p as nice as it would be, but it would be nice to see all games n ps4 and xb1 run at a constant 40fps on 720p just an opinion.
2. I think it was IGN,Gamespot and gamestation on youtube. for titanfall and thief the watchdogs info came from Jim sterling.
p.s if you want your games looking like they're playing in slow motion then to a degree you care about frame rates.
p.p.s I just think that the new consoles were over hyped and don't seem to be delivering much of what the promised.
random thought Imfamous second son will be the first proper exlcusive next gen title.
Huehuehue, the fact that you were expecting anything good from console developers (especially at launch) says a lot about you and your expectations in the first place, doesn't it? Do you as an individual even have the ability to notice the difference between 40fps and 60fps or are you just blindly parroting the opinions of people that do? Also, counting the Wii U having 60fps and 1080p Mario in its favor is like bragging to some guys that got a Dr. Who dvd set that you bought Teletubbies on Blu-Ray.

p.p.s I just think that the new consoles were over hyped and don't seem to be delivering much of what the promised.
Because that TOTALLY hasn't happened before with previous gen consoles. Nope, never. Because literally everything else in existence has lived up to its hype until the very moment in time when the XB1 and PS4 launched. [/sarcasm]
p.s if you want your games looking like they're playing in slow motion then to a degree you care about frame rates.
Firstly, I said I DON'T want my games playing in slow motion (I hope I'm right in assuming that you simply made a grammar error on this one...) Secondly, I already said I do TO A DEGREE care about frame rates. I just don't value them as highly as technologists do. Because I'm NOT a technologist. I'm a GAMER who cares about PLAYING GAMES.
1. The thing is that these new consoles are meant to be the big step forward but seem to be struggling to do what the ps3 and 360 were and are doing.
both the PS3 and 360 have been released for years now. OF COURSE the games on them are gonna be up to the technology. Developers have had PLENTY of time to figure the technology of those consoles out.
Now try comparing the technology of the newer PS3 games to the technology behind the same console's launch titles (and maybe some of the last PS2 games to ever be released, while you're at it)
Also, counting the Wii U having 60fps and 1080p Mario in its favor is like bragging to some guys that got a Dr. Who dvd set that you bought Teletubbies on Blu-Ray.
This goes back to my "technologist, not gamer" thing. Only technologists will be impressed by your Teletubbies.

Just a heads up. Multiplats ALWAYS suffer. It is usually on their "home" consoles that they suffer the least since the devs know how to work with the tech of the respective console. Hence why MGS V is currently running at 60 FPS and 1080p on the PS4 as opposed to the 60 FPS and 720p on the xbone. Exclusives usually are the best at utilizing the machines' hard and software.

Who dvd set that you bought Teletubbies on Blu-Ray.
no I can't notice the difference between 40fps and 60fps.
p.s that wasn't even the point I was making, but in hindsight my point was a stupid point in the first place.
I'm Blindly parroting I confess.
Because that TOTALLY hasn't happened before with previous gen consoles. Nope, never. Because literally everything else in existence has lived up to its hype until the very moment in time when the XB1 and PS4 launched. [/sarcasm]
Yes they are, except for the launchday ps3,360,ps2,xbox,wii,wii u,dreamcast, saturn. okay it isn't the first time it's happened and I don't think I said it was.
I'm a GAMER who cares about PLAYING GAMES.
poor grammar on my part sorry about that.
both the PS3 and 360 have been released for years now. OF COURSE the games on them are gonna be up to the technology. Developers have had PLENTY of time to figure the technology of those consoles out.
I may have forgot how the ps3 and 360 suffered with their problems in the beginning and I should have expected it from the ps4 and XB1 I imagine things will get better as time goes on.
Now try comparing the technology of the newer PS3 games to the technology behind the same console's launch titles (and maybe some of the last PS2 games to ever be released, while you're at it)
yeah that is a far point, my bad.
This goes back to my "technologist, not gamer" thing. Only technologists will be impressed by your Teletubbies.
yep got caught up in alot of tech talk that won't realy ruin the enjoyment of the games unless they're just naff like ride to hell retribution.

Been playing through a bit of Dark Souls II recently.
While I do enjoy the more polished and varied character movement and attack animations and that delicious tough-as-nails difficulty, there's something that really bugs me about the enemy attacks... They just don't feel that strong anymore...
Take the Last Giant: it's a colossal headless being that uses its own arm as a weapon, and who can easily send you sprawling across the field at a quarter of your Hit Points. And yet there's something about his attack animations that make it look as if he's doing little more than gently fanning some air in your general direction...
Otherwise, so far that's probably my biggest qualm... That and having to constantly travel back to the starting bonfire to level up. F*ck that...

The whole game is multiplayer, even the story mode... I played it at a friend's house the other day and it was pretty ****ing fun. Something about deep striking a titan on an enemy titan and then running over minions and players as you get into a chaotic death match against another enemy titan was entertaining. The controls were near perfect, with the exception to some parkour movements. However, I can see the game getting boring quickly if you have no friends to play with because like most fps games it is repetitive and you aren't working towards anything that grand.

I'm not going to argue that the story mode wasn't short, it took me like an hour maybe per story, and the narrative was so bad it made me laugh but I usually don't care about story modes in fps games. The game is extremely flawed but it was very enjoyable to play and in a multiplayer focused game that is all I ask for.

I have to agree with you on this one. I just don't get what makes a goat simulator oh-so-very awesome. "It's a funny joke!" Uh, so? There's PLENTY of "funny joke" games that haven't gotten anywhere NEAR the hype this one has gotten, and a lot of those either had a hell of a lot better gameplay or a hell of a lot better jokes (or both). I might torrent the game just for ****s and giggles, but I highly doubt it'll be as great as the hype and therefore worthy of an actual purchase.

The developer's marketing to the 9gag/ Reddit/ XDrandumb audience created a widespread bandwagon effect. Of course the popularity of the game will sky-rocket on the internet, considering that its demographic is a large part of the internet.
Thanks to this game's overall construction, however, Goat Simulator will abruptly burn-out and die at couple months after its release.

at least the developers will make a ****ton of money beforehand. Although I wonder if they'll ever get anybody's money with a new game ever again, or if the damage from this one will be too great to overcome.

Can't find anything on the devs, so who can really say what they'll do in the future.
I'd also say that they're smart lil' ****ers if you consider this unenthusiastic quote from the creators and how much hype the game itself has generated.
"Goat Simulator is a small, broken and stupid game. It was made in a couple of weeks so don’t expect a game in the size and scope of GTA with goats. In fact, you’re better off not expecting anything at all actually. To be completely honest, it would be best if you’d spend your $10 on a hula hoop, a pile of bricks, or maybe a real-life goat."

Clicking on the develop's name on Steam brings you to a page where it lists other games they've developed. That's how I found out they were behind Sanctum. I guess the page could be wrong but......I kinda doubt Steam would screw up that bad and NOT fix it.

I honestly don't think they are that bothered by it. EVE is pretty much a well known niche so when they fired so many people it is only logical that they are gonna focus exclusively on EVE from now on. Still doesn't make it sting less though. Just like Project Aces' announcement a couple of days ago that they weren't planning an HD release of Ace Combat 4,5 and zero.

I do regularly. I play heavily modded with multiple mod-civilizations, maps, and total overhaul mods.
I alternate between Japan and Babylon. Japan due to Bushido being a good 'buffer' against other civs and a strong as hell boost for a conquest victory, when I'm not going for conquest, Bushido does make my defensive military more strong to detour other hostile civs. Plus Japan gets one hell of a boost to culture if you have sea-resources (combine that with "God of the Sea" pantheon and you have a good source of both food and production) As for becoming obsolete, the Samurai's promotion still lasts through the ages making them still worth it, so I do a lot of unit creating in the Renaissance so all my gunpowder units will start with the Generals promotion, and their UA makes up for it, but the Zero is practically worthless and I play with a mod that replaces that with the Dojo. (Barracks replacement which warrants 2+ culture as well as the 15+ exp boost) Even without mods, I score an easy Culture victory with Oda everytime. (Unique Units don't really make a Civ for me namely as I don't often go for a Domination victory as it has too many diplomatic factors working against me and my playstyle)
Babylon is good as you can zip through the ages and snag a real quick Science-victory with their UA.

occasionally, depends on my mood and whether or not I have my brother's pc to my disposal as he's the only one with a decent gaming pc in this house.
in other related news the JP VO DLC for Drakengard 3 is busted now. So they are actually gonna have to patch the game to fix this. goddamn it. Meanwhile I'm just stuck with the English voice over which at some points isn't bad but just overall is just cringe worthy.
So far the game is pretty good. Hope the story will move along soon though because these edgemasters annoy me to no end whilst I slice my way through one repetetive battle after the other with occasional humor that's piss-weak slapstick at best.
Coming back to the characters they are pretty interesting but so far with no explanation to their ways they are the most basic and edgy edgemasters I've seen so far, or at least as far as I can remember.
as I said before the game has it's moments of humor some better than others.
"Are you saving yourself, or do you just stink down there?"
^made me laugh more than it should.
Now they better patch it fast. Because the voice acting is seriously atrocious at times.
Also
for those interested and in ownership of a JP account on PSN. Ace Combat Infinity was released in Japan a couple days ago so if you can read Jap you can play that until the worldwide release hits the servers. Alternatively you can set the voice over and menus to English in the JP version so happy flying aces.

This happens WAY too often, especially now that so many games are released at Pre-Alpha stages. The devs get a bunch of feedback from people who've been playing it as long as (if not more than) themselves.
It's actually a problem that's affecting a lot of aspects of life, education, job training, etc at this point.

I'm a civ v fan, can't wait for the beyond Earth expansion! With the current expansion brave new world, my favorite addition probably have to be the X com infantry. They're like airborne troopers on steroids.. and PCP. If they don't become your number one infantry choice at that age, you're wrong. At the end game for me, it's all about giant death robot, xcom infantry, and mobile artillery/stealth bombers. Also maybe a few mobile Sams And fighter jet I suppose.
Playing Tropico V!! Quick synopsis for it to the spoilers
First and foremost, they upgraded the graphics again, in such a way as to make older graphics cards obsolete (my 2010 laptop with gtx 285 cannot play the game, despite having DX11). In the Steam Community Hub for the game, there is a thread from the developers about what age cards are obsolete, please refer to it if you're unsure about your card.
Next, on to the meat of the game: what makes Tropico 5 different than the Tropicos that came before it?
Simply put, Tropico 5 is even more of a departure from previous Tropicos than Tropico 3 was from the first Tropico. The entire game has been redesigned the ground up.
What's different: Eras- instead of a Calender starting in the 50s, we now start as a colony with a royal mandate, a ticking clock that you can do missions to extend, but if the clock runs out before you've declared independence (by having 51% happiness, basically), it's game over. Once you have beaten back the crown and are in total control of Tropico, you enter the world wars era, then cold wars, than Modern times.
No longer do you control El Presidente's avatar to boost production. Instead, the members of your Dynasty Can be hired as managers in any given facility, And various citizens can be discovered to act as managers as well. The old traits we once chose for El Presidente are now the single trait each manager gets at random, although you can somewhat choose which trait your dynasty members get.
There is a lot of incentive now to build multiple docks as soon as possible, because each dock give you a trade ship that you can use to make higher price trades.
Citizen wages and expenses now are Budgets that effect production and qualities.
I've only had a chance to.play a few hours, so I can't say for sure what I think of it yet, except to express my wish for the statistics to come back. At the moment, the Almanac is TINY. Very little info. Maybe it expands in later eras or through research, I don't know yet.
Basically, it's a brand new game that still has the old feeling of Tropico, and adds a lot of new elements that could be fun.
Oh yeah, and it added multiplayer.

So I played the new EA Simcity today for a good 6 hours. Here is my thoughts.
Its really does live up to its reputation of being buggy and sucky. Even with the most recent updates its all still broken in much the same as it was a year ago.
Playing offline I build all the cities. Except the game wants cities dedicated to stuff, like power, water and such. I do that....and the game bugs out and goes "oh by the way...no power!" or "no water!" and just breaks the city and if they are co dependant both cities or 6 cities goes tits up.
Also if you even look at touching taxes games starts having people leave due to high taxes. It starts at 9% I put it to 12% and boom mass evacuation. I put it to 11....nothing....10..nothing...9% people flood back in. Yet I need the money....then there traffics ****ed...its realy a broken game from the start.

Only time I made it to modern era on standard was when I started on SA. Being secluded by mountains and sea allowed me to solely focus on technological advancement, game got boring when I reach modern era while the rest of the world was around the renaissance period.
Brave New World makes Civ5 the best Civ since 3/Alpha Centari.

Holy ****, is Namco Bandai a greedy company or what? 4 hours for ONE fuel to play ONE mission in Ace Combat Infinity? Or you could optionally buy fuel for $1 FOR EACH ONE. That, and it sounds like they have no plans whatsoever on doing HD remakes for the PS2 games (like everyone wants...) nor have I heard anything about any up-coming Ace Combat 7 (which makes sense since Infinity came out just yesterday in the US). So basically if you want to play Ace Combat for a few hours....you have to spend probably about $100 everyday you want to play for more than a few minutes. That, or go replay one of the older games.
They do have a "unlimited campaign ticket" for the first 8 missions (which more-or-less implies that there will be more in the future....and you'll have to pay for those seperate from what's currently available) for only $20....but's that's for single player only. Multiplayer you still have to pay for even after the ticket. It seems that as more and more games go "free-to-play", the "optional" items are becoming more and more expensive while also becoming less and less optional.
tl;dr: **** you, Namco Bandai. **** you.

Because I actually enjoy playing video games? Why wouldn't I want to engage in my hobby for more than 5 minutes every 4 hours? I'm not a workaholic. And you have, like, 3 saved fuel. that's 20 or 30 minutes of gameplay (excluding cutscenes and such)

As I said, multiplayer still requires fuel itself. Even if you stick only to multiplayer until you have enough for the campaign missions, that's a looooooooooonong wait considering you can only play 3 times every 12 hours.
I don't care if you keep playing the game yourself. It's your time/money and therefore your choice. I, on the other hand, have my own time/money and have every right to spend said time/money on other games. Games I can actually enjoy after a single $60 (or less!) purchase for as long as I want, when as I want, as much as I want. I also have the right to not spend that time/money on a particular game if I don't feel like it's a worthwile investment.

so I can wait 4 hours for 5 minutes instead of 12 hours for 15 minutes. That makes the wait SO. MUCH. EASIER!!!! (not)
And that's 5 minutes per ONE mission, not 5 for THREE missions. That's also NOT INCLUDING cutscenes, flying around and just chatting, and other "playing, but not actually playing" scenarios. Add those in and I guess you could consider a single mission to be 10-15 minutes.
I'm sure there will be longer missions later on (first 2 or 3 are pretty much always shorter).....but I'm not sticking around to find out. Not worth it to me. If it's worth it to you, go ahead and keep playing. I won't stop you. Just don't expect me to join you.

A) first and foremost, this is a grand improvement from what Assault Horizon was
B) The comment was, in case it wasn't obvious enough, meant towards this particular game and this particular topic. The thing is, you're condemning this game based on a minor nuisance that's honestly not that bad(for instance a fair amount of fighters are pretty bonkers when it comes to content purchases).
As you might know you simply cannot expect game devs to cater to your every whim and demand that you might have for a game. Game mechanics are implemented for different reasons. Be it to shamelessly cash in, to spread out the game experience somewhat, health and safety advice.
Just chill out

.
A) It's also a better game than Superman 64 ever was. Doesn't change ANY of my points, though. Not sure why you felt the need to make this point.
B) I'm fully aware it was directed at this particular game and this particular subject. Doesn't change the innacuracy, though. It may be a "minor nuisance" to you, but then again ANYTHING a company does is "only a minor nuisance" to someone who's blindly loyal. I'm fully aware that I cannot expect game developers to cater to MY every whim and desire. That's not what I'm doing at all, though. This is a "whim and desire" that ALMOST EVERYONE has with this game, and it's a PERFECTLY REASONABLE "whim and desire" to have. It's not like they'd have to delay the game for 10 years just to fix that one thing.
If I were honestly expecting them to cater to ME in every way possible....there are a LOT more demands I would be....well, demanding. Just because game mechanics can be implemented for different reasons, doesn't mean "shamelessly cash in" is a excusable reason. And it honestly IS that bad. Just because YOU don't mind only playing for a few minutes, doesn't mean I'm commiting some unforgivable sin for wanting to play for a few hours instead.
Honestly? If they removed the fuel system completely and just released the game as a $60 disc like they've always done...I, AND MANY OTHERS, would GLADLY pay that $60 for unlimited play. Hell, I might even be willing to pay a REASONABLE price for some DLC skins. Maybe even some DLC additional missions.
And sorry, I can't just "chill out and have some sorties." That would require supporting Namco Bandai with their bull****. I'm not a blindly loyal idiot like you seem to be. I CAN, however, just "chill out and play an entirely different game from a different company that doesn't do this **** (or at least not yet...)"
Side note: I can't really comment on how bad "free-to-play" fighters are, as fighting games aren't a genre I participate in frequently. The games I DO play, though, are games you purchase on disc for $60 (at launch, anyway. I always wait until I can buy them for $20 or less used) and then just have ****ty DLC costumes or voices or w/e. I think I can play BlazBlue just fine even without Ragna the Bloodedge looking like Cloud Strife.

The game itself isn't ****. What's **** is the fuel system. One-time purchase of $60 and the game would actually be pretty damn awesome. Well, my biggest problem with the fuel system is that I play the missions still there's like 30s or less.
So, for me, as one of those 'MUST DESTROY EVERYTHING' players...the 'pay-for-fuel' system seems to irk me more than say a 'pay-for-plane' or 'pay-for-cosmetic' or 'pay-for-extra-exp/money' system.
All of which I've seen work, when done right.

A) It's also a better game than Superman 64 ever was. Doesn't change ANY of my points, though. Not sure why you felt the need to make this point.
Because you're acting as if this is the worst Ace Combat thus far by miles.
B) I'm fully aware it was directed at this particular game and this particular subject. Doesn't change the innacuracy, though. It may be a "minor nuisance" to you, but then again ANYTHING a company does is "only a minor nuisance" to someone who's blindly loyal.
I think you and I both know this has nothing to do with supposed loyalty to a company.
And still loads of those same people are still willing to play even with this crippling fault. Also, you know that they could/can change the fuel system up a bit whenever they want or given enough negative feedback right?
If I were honestly expecting them to cater to ME in every way possible....there are a LOT more demands I would be....well, demanding. Just because game mechanics can be implemented for different reasons, doesn't mean "shamelessly cash in" is a excusable reason.
Who said I was excusing it?
And it honestly IS that bad. Just because YOU don't mind only playing for a few minutes, doesn't mean I'm commiting some unforgivable sin for wanting to play for a few hours instead.
Then just pay the $20 for the campaign and unlimited fuel ticket.

Bamco didn't make the game, they merely published it. Your disapproval can be better directed towards Project Aces. Also, blindly loyal idiot? Next time if you're trying to make a point refrain from **** flinging. It makes you much less credible.
Side note: I can't really comment on how bad "free-to-play" fighters are, as fighting games aren't a genre I participate in frequently. I suggest you follow your own advice, then. You've done "**** flinging" yourself on more than one occasion.
Oh, and that "just pay the $20 for the ticket" thing? What about multiplayer? Maybe I want to play multiplayer for more than a few minutes as well? And what about future missions? As I've said before, both the game and the ticket item itself specifically mention in numerous locations "missions 1-8". That very heavily implies that there will be more missions in the future, and that they will need to be bought seperate from the first 8. Maybe even seperate from each other. I will admit they could very easily bundle them later on, though.
....and I'll also admit I should be directing this at Project Aces. Because you're right, Bamco actually is just the publisher. They could still have some say in the F2P model of the game....but I doubt they have more say than the developers. This actually makes my life easier if I decide on the "boycott all future releases" route, as I'm pretty sure Bamco also publishes the "Tales of" series, and probably at least one other IP I want to buy.
And again, I haven't played F2P fighters. I'm not a huge fan of fighters in general, so I've yet to come across any that have held my interest for more than a few seconds. I can still easily see them omitting characters, though....

anyone else play Europa Universalis IV? or as some friends like to call it, Spreadsheet Simulator IV: Conquering Europe With Excel. If anyone plays it, a group of people at gloryofwar.com play the recent expansion Wealth of Nations fairly regularly as a big group. It's nice to be able to do things like be Portugal and sell off all your iberian peninsula provinces to Castile in order to quickly move operations to the americas and just rake in the sweet sweet ducats. its a longer process when it's not a player behind the throne of castile.
For any Tropicans around here, Tropico 5 is pretty good (some of the stuff they did is pretty neat), although I miss Juanito from Tropico 3 and Penultimo + Friends from 4. The new penultimo voice and the chick who is the primary radio voice in 5 haven't really grown on me yet. Anyone tried playing the multiplayer yet?

Also, let's face it, the only decent villain of the entire franchise was by far Giovanni's Team Rocket.
As for R/S/E being a good game or not, I'd say it's more of a "hit or miss" type of entry in the series. Personally, I really used to enjoy Emerald's late-game (Battle Pyramid was the ****...), the double battles and the unlimited trainer and gym leader re-challenges. Also, since I never really came to appreciate many of the designs that were introduced in B/W, it's also the one with the least number of pokemon that I dislike due to their appearance. Also, it had my favorite Battle Girl...

Let's take a step back and look at everybody's motivations
Team Rocket were poachers and in it for the dosh. Pretty straight forward and reasonable.
Team Galactic was Cyrus attempting to create a new universe that he would rule. JRPG as all hell.
Team Plasma wanted to liberate all pokemon, while that Neo-Team Plasma wanted to annex all of Unova. The former was a pretty neat twist, the latter was too generic, though.
Team Flare thought that the world was diseased, rotten to the core. There's no saving it. They wanted to tear it out by the roots, wipe the slate clean, burn it down. The motivations are fine, it's their theme that was ****, though.
Team Aqua and Team Magma wanted to introduce more water and more land respectively. Only one of these is slightly an understandable choice, and even then I use the term understandable loosely.
