Also, since Skyrim collector's editions are apparently sold out in Australia, EB games is releasing their own exclusive version of it. This edition comes with a blank A5 notebook, four art cards and a steelbook cover, as well as the pre-order cloth map. Well, with Enchanted Weapons you had the durability problem AND the fact that you had to constantly keep it charged. Enchanting hasn't been removed and is actually a new skill. So yeah, you still have to go out of your way to find soul gems and such (which was made easy with the Umbra/Azura's Star combo, but still) to keep your weapons charged. And being an Enchanted Sword McRapist on 'Hard' (difficulty slider all the way up) wouldn't help you much on higher levels AT ALL. Coupled with frequently having to go charge it, made it a little difficult. As far as we know not having to worry about repairs might make things easier when facing... I don't know, a random encounter with a ****ing dragon.
With enchanted armor, however even if armor is "broke" in Oblivion, it can still give you it's added effect of the enchantment, only it has no defense, added dead weight, and you cannot reequip it once you unequip it.

Out of 2011? I haven't bought any NEW games this year that are currently out... (broke as nails) I liked what I seen of Catherine though.
And for games that haven't came out... Skyrim, Aliens: Colonial Marines and Batman Arkham City all look very promising, and I have already put ALL of them on pre-order.

Because we all need another, pointless direct-port, right?

I mean, the Zelda series has just aged so well. Not to mention that our nostalgia is not affecting our opinion, and online petitions always work so well. Man, the story's writing is just as good as Kingdom Hearts, and Kingdom Hearts is definitely not written like a horrible fanfiction. Not to mention that the dialogue in the Legend of Zelda series has so much depth in it.

Perseverance is way more useful than expanded mind and Eve really should just have her stun, yes she can be DPS or Burst AP but given the way her abilities are structured adding stun won't make her horribly broken.

No, Fatal Frame on 3DS sounds terrible, especially if you live in america where Nintendo has already kept a FF game coming out on the Wii.

Also you are now able to download the first batch of ambassador games on the 3DS (go to store, you account, your downloads you'll see them listed with the option to redownload them.)

So, in short: Due to a Volcanic eruption, and attacks from ORcs and Nords from the East, the Argonians pwned the Dunmer from the south.

And at Abbysion: 200 years occurred between Oblivion and Skyrim, so no actual change to the already established lore, just things happened between those 200 years. Which are explained in many of the official Elder Scrolls novels.

Actually the first few games from Arena to Oblivion took place within a fifty-sixty year time frame (with Oblivion taking place a year or so after Morrowind's events) , as they were all direct sequels to each other. Skyrim is not a direct sequel to any of them.

However you do have a point about the minor lore changes which occur, but with a game series with such extensive lore as the Elder Scrolls, its hard to keep track of every small bit of information, although recently Bethesda has admitted to using the Imperial Library and UESPwiki to go over their own lore. So, hopefully Skyrim won't be as bad in it's lore retcon as morrowind or oblivion.

But there's still the 200 year gap between Oblivion and Skyrim, which means alot of **** happened in that time, which means new back-story...

TLG, when it came out, was all sorts of 'cutting edge'.

To this DAY it remains as one of my all time favorite 'classic' PC games.
Right up there with System Shock 2 and Masters of Orion 2.

I'd suggest playing the GOG version - no bloody disc swapping.

The ending was terrible in Dreamfall. GOG has been the source I've been using for a lot of the older games. Right now I got a backlog of several of the the Seria Point and click games (several of the Space and King's quest games), the Simon the Sorcerer, and Broken Sword games (yea I'm focusing of more comical ones first).

Not even remotely a problem most the time though, for two reasons: 1 even with cut healing and regen he still gains more health than most champs when built right and 2, that still only gives you 5 seconds to focus him down 5 to 6 thousand (sometimes but rarely more) hp and 90% of he time that means ignoring the rest of his team that's beating you down. Mundo can pretty much just sit in the enemy team and do stuff, if you focus him his team will certainly kill you and if you don't he's going to hurt you a lot. Sure he's not invincible but killing him means wiping his team and saving your CC for him so he can't escape, he's far nastier than a lot of the more traditional tanks like Maokai.

We already know that Nintendo's pre TGS show will only focus on the 3DS, which if rumors are to be believed Nintendo will be announcing a new model of the 3DS with two circle pads, screwing early adopters by putting them at a disadvantage unless they pay for the ugly second circle pad peripheral. This could possibly mean Nintendo is planning a second show during TGS dedicated to the WiiU, where we could possible see Wiiu games actually running on the WiiU.

There puzzles aren't tough (you need to follow the guide to do it right), but doing some of the tricks is tough, and combat is slightly challenging.

The boulder room in the MQ spirit temple is probably my favorite Zelda puzzle ever though.

Honestly, it's what I've always wanted. A free roam, survival, cooperative zombie game. Hell, it's what I was expecting from Left 4 Dead.

The only issues I have with the game, when it comes to movements, are the whole stamina thing, which isn't really an issue when you get the hang of it, and the jumping. The jumping is just useless and it's a ****ing wreck when you need it. Also, an individual issue I had was walking up a damn staircase. I was stuck in a bathroom underground because I couldn't get up the damn staircase. The thing made me slide off of it as if it were a Slip n' Slide. The biggest ****ing obstacle in a video game should not be a ****ing small-ass staircase. As for the whole weapon issue:
Black guy is good with blunt weapons
Hot Asian chick is good with bladed weapons
Football man is moderate with everything, but has a useless ability (Why the **** would I want to throw my damn weapon at a zombie? It doesn't do much damage, and I'd be losing a weapon.)
Rochelle is pretty much useless 'til you find a gun.

That's from the PC version, which is patched now from what I've heard. For the PC version, as some of you may know, a beta version (or something along those lines) of the game was released instead of the real version. Even though the creators said that they would fix the issue, people still went ahead and judged and "professionally reviewed" the game based on the buggy, beta version. Albrtd3 is pretty damn ignorant in this video. For one, he couldn't find the area where you put the juice, so he called it a bug. And two, he said that "the little things" should be noticed before release of the game, which implies that the developers should **** everything and deal with the smaller issues. And last,as much as I hate to use the word, I'd like to call the "troll" card into play. Over half of the issues that he stated don't appear on the PC that often and practically never appear on the consoles, and everything small thing about the game that he doesn't like is "a bug that should have been fixed in development."

Any way's I'm not doing what I've done during prevous conventions cause a few reasons, one; I'm tired, two; how fast they went through each game, three; they only announced about 7 new games (and one game that may have been for the WiiU, possibly multiplat). Including a new Sqaure Enix IP (Bravely Default) and sadly a new Fatal Frame game. of all they new titles they announced, only MH4, the new gundam and the new Square Enix IP look to have any chance of making it out of Japan, and that's only of Nintendo doesn't gain the publishing rights. Hopefully Square wil keep these rights fare away from Nintendo, the looks promising.

Anyways, I'll make a full list of new announcements (assuming some one else hasn't) when I wake up later today. now it's time for bed

I haven't exactly been bashing the 360, really the only issue with the system now is that they put way to many adds on the dashboard. And Nintendo is a terrible publisher. They act like, well Nintendo as a game developer "doing there own thing" That may work for them as a game developer, but it's a terrible mind set for a publisher. They as a publisher are one of the least caring I've ever seen. They makes things worse by not allowing other publishers to release these games in the region.

There WAS 'clear motivation' - kill all things, by ****ing up time.
Toss in some 'Joker' crazy and revenge...tah-dah.

While FF8's villains were a mixed bag (with a few of them not really being 'evil') at least I could STAND them - and they got **** done.
FF7...just...failures all around.
At least Adle managed to rule a whole nation and nearly kill one or two of the main party members - who'd be with you longer than 5 hours.

It was a decent game - seems to be SE's MO anymore (things being decent, not great).
The story was okay, minus most of the VA which helped to 'hurt it'...then FFX-2 came out and while it was fun (I'm a sucker for the Job System) it killed the 'emotional impact' that the ending of FFX had.

Dude I said motivations, not goals, they had no reason to want to compress time and blah blah blah... seriously they weren't explored, honestly I think you're just hating on 7 because of how loved it is, and it is very very very overrated but at least the villains are explored, the heroes aren't a bunch of stupid annoying kids and plans and ideas made sense. The only point at which I liked 8 was when I heard about the fan theory about it *SPOILERS* At the end of disc one squall is impaled by giant icicles; the fan theory is that he dies there an the other 3 discs is the result of his dying mind trying to piece everything together. This honestly worked for me because that's really the point where **** just gets stupid, so if it were a dying mind trying to put events that may or may not even be related together it would be really cool, sadly I can't accept that the developers were actually going for that.*/SPOILERS*

My thoughts: Okay, I love the musical score already, the latin/nordic chanting during the Dragon fight was ****ing beast and sets the mood splendidly. The NPC's seem a little clunky, but still a far cry from Oblivion, that and the game isn't out yet, so it could still be in a Beta or Alpha state, i dunno. And Magic has been greatly improved from Oblivion as well, Clairvoyance looks really helpful in dungeons, as one of my grips in Oblivion and Fallout are the quest markers which aren't very helpful in a maze, or a place where the quest item is inaccessible on your level, and you have to go around to a few other rooms to get it.
I can tell right now, my money is well spent.

With the rise of complex & sophisticated phones - like the iphone/various clones - I just don't see it doing well.

The 3DS is a joke. And, for me, I can't play it for more than 10/15 minutes without getting a headache - BAD MOVE NINTENDO.

Then you have the PSV which is STILL coming out of the gate at a price near/at the PS3s' current level.
With, thus far, a line up of games I'm not too thrilled with and a proprietary memory card -READ: ****ING EXPENSIVE!!!- that's going to be REQUIRED.

BOTH have mediocre battery life - 3DS = 3/6hrs and the PSV is about the same last I read.


Seriously, W-T-F?
I hope the 3DS-lite gets some kind of redesign and Sony gets smarter, allowing for 3rd Party memory cards (or allowing some kind of adapter to be made).

Cause, as of right now, I don't see myself getting either system for at LEAST a year after their release - maybe two.

Not really, the PSV douse have some interesting new IP, like Little devents and Gravity Daze. Along with two new games from flag ship franchise Resinstance and Uncharted. There's also the new Tales of game.


Given I'm a huge Disgaea and Persona fans with above titles I'm already sold on the PSV, but I think I'll wait to a year to.

As for battery, not allowing users to swap batteries like the older portables has been one of the stupidest decisions for handhelds.

Monsters: 86. There were 68 in Part 1, so that’s an increase of about 25%
Moves: 401. There were 261 in Part 1, so that’s an increase of about 50%
Battle/H-Scene Script: 2.3Mb. It was 1.5Mb in Part 1, so that’s an increase of about 50%

With that said, I’m guessing the story length will be longer as well. Since the first part took 2 months to translate, I’m going to guess that Part 2 will take at minimum 3 months since I’ll be traveling during the Thanksgiving (If it’s released before that) and Christmas holidays."

The people who are making the game have also stated that they will be hiring new artists, whilst keeping some such as Hosigumi, which is the person who illustrated Alice and Slime.

Operation Rainfall has posted details on the phase of there plan to fight Nintendo's stupidity and get Xenoblade, The Last Story and Pandora's Tower released in the US.

1) E-Mails will be sent to both Nintendo of Japan and Europe on October 24th, the release day of Kirby’s Return to Dream Land. E-Mails only, not physical letters or phone calls.

2) A Massive Fan Package will be sent to both Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Japan, starting on October 25th and ending on November 13th. This package will consist of fan work sent to one location and shipped to Nintendo as one massive package. A physical address for physical items will be posted on the blog later.

3) The Operation will try to associate Xenoblade, Last Story and Pandora’s Tower to Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword as much as possible on it’s release week. This includes mentioning the three games(politely) on Club Nintendo surveys for Skyward Sword and mentioning the three in Skyward Sword discussion threads on forums and blogs.

4) Show Operation Rainfall support at Nintendo’s Skyward Sword event (if any) – this isn’t a demonstration. Simply, showing your support. Wearing shirts with artwork from one of the games or cosplaying as characters from the game and other peaceful methods.

Just read an an interview about how Nintendo is bragging the WiiU is more powerful then the PS3 and 360 like is some big accomplishment. Really though it just shows how arrogant they they are. It's an 8th gen console, it should be more powerful. Really there no way Nintendo can keep up with Sony of Microsoft tech wise so you'd think they would try avioding taking about power, it's only going to end up as egg on there face when the PS4 and Nextbox are way more powerful then the WiiU
