Yes the unlimited quest system is tied into the radient AI, but I'd hesitate to call it unlimited, it more just does stuff like generate NPC's to assassinate for the DB and that sort of thing.

Apparently g4 is having it's best game of 2011 contest, the Semi-Finals are Skyrim V. Skyward Sword and Assassin's Creed V. Gears of War 3. I don't care for g4 all that much, and I could give two ****s who wins, But if I had to weigh in my opinion:

I disliked Gears of War 3 for story related reasons (the gameplay is still ****ing awesome though) I'm very meh on Assassin's Creed, so I could care less for those two, as if they go up against Zelda or Skyrim I don't think it will be much contest.

As for Zelda and Skyrim, I have to go with Skyrim for my personal game of 2011, as I have played both and my opinion of LoZ: SS is essentially summed up in this fine gentleman's journal: http://in-the-machine.deviantart.com/journal/Skyward-Sword-Thoughts-Review-271878308 as in I cannot add anything other than what was already said.

Skyrim may have tons of glitches, but it also has unlimited gameplay, and can be added in the various future DLC's which will make the game that much more epic. Call me a TES fanboy all you want, but I can honestly say that Skyrim is not only my favorite game of 2011, but my favorite game, period. The PC has unlimited modding potential as well, in comparison, LoZ doesn't offer that much besides your typical "LoZ" story and gameplay, and falls short in comparison to Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess.

My main gripe with GOW 3 is pertaining to the Lambent and Locust.

The Lambent especially because I have ranted about on my dA journal, they made the "miracle fuel" in reality a world destroying parasite...gee, THAT hasn't been done before! I liked the Lambent being just a mutation of the Immulsion like Radiation Mutation or something similar that causes organisms to mutate. But nope they had to borrow the cliche from every other good shooter of making it a "zombie parasite" Like The Flood from Halo, Los Plagas, The Necromorphs, Head Crabs, etc. Making the "Lambent" not very original in the long run.

And my second gripe is the death of ALL of the Locust and their domesticated beasts, who did their horrible acts to survive. Which in the long run, Humans are guilty of similar actions too. The whole kill them off so we can live instead of reaching a mutual agreement seemed to hit my ire. But that's just me and my opinion.

The Rest of the Story I liked. the death of *** really almost made me shed tears, and the "Phoenix" symbolism wasn't lost on me either. Although I found it to be too predictable in some parts, as I could tell when the "zombie" sequence was about to begin and when *** was about to die, even before he/she decided on committing his/her heroic sacrifice, I knew they would be dead before the game ended.

Of course, it can be chalked up as me expecting more of a story out of GoW and not being satisfied with what I got.

Personally I liked D2, but so far D4 is my favorite in the series

I had a lot issues with D3, first Mao's motivation, it just seems stupid, Laharl wanted to follow in his father's foots steps and rule the nether world, Adel wanted to defeat an overlord to save his world from becoming a netherworld, and Valvatorez wanted to overthrow a corrupt government. Mao's motivation; to get revenge on his dad for destroying his game console. There was also the part where the story start to get more serious, D3 felt very forced to me. Finally the characters in D3 where the least memorable.

Laharl didn't want to follow in the footsteps of his dad, he wanted to surpass him every way to prove the guy was worthless, the Disgaea series is pretty much about the emotional baggage of the characters, which is also how I know you didn't play that far into D3 or you'd know that's not Mao's actual motivation

Yeah if you are at all familiar with Daedric Lore, that quest's "twist" is a little obvious. That's what I love about Bethesda's quests in new games, it adds little hints and such that tie it back to the established lore of other games. Such as the Glenmoril Witches which were first brought up in Daggerfall I think, and here you get to kill them. That and the "Potema" quest is another good one that you find interesting if you read the entirety of "The Wolf Queen."

And Labyrinthian...itself a dungeon from ARENA. Sadly, the Staff of Chaos was not found, but I did get a Staff of Magnus.

Hell, my boss said the same exact thing! In this day and age your screwed either way, well I guess I should at least be grateful that I have a job, the downside, even though the job isn't thing thats bothering me, I have to deal with very rude disabled adults, the ones I have most trouble with are girls who are 19 with the mindset of 14 yr old, OMG out of control sometimes espicially when you doing a drill bit job contract.

Finished Skyward Sword, Really didn't like how so much of the game felt like padding, and the story was pretty bad, I know Nintendo's never been known for there story telling, but the story in SS was just plain lazy. The game also had trouble reading jabs, That got very agrevating in a fight near the end. Finally exploring the sky area was really unrewarding

Still combat was fun and being that it wasn't basically a carbon copy of OoT made the game even more enjoyble.

How is it gay? Sure the thing does have an incomprehensible amount of damage, but you'd have to have your face planted on the barrel of the gun for it to actually harm/kill you. If you complain about getting killed by the sawed-off, then you need to stop running directly towards the guy that's holding the gun.

There's a Game-n-Trade, but that place is filled to the brim with the same pseudo-lovecraftian abominations that shop/work at Walmart and Target. Gamestop is the only place that I could really go to that isn't infested with Azathoth's bastard children. man Ocean Marketing is old news (but that guy did become a meme) though my least favorite guy on Kotaku did try to defend him, not to the extent that he didn't deserve to lose his job but you really can't defend someone in a customer service position acting like that. In other news Star Wars the old republic was really incompetently made, people have also been banned for using the in game auction house and taking loot from high level areas before reaching those levels.

Lot's of games do that, Other elder scrolls games do that and are better games. Even if it didn't have all those technical problems I wouldn't place it that high cause the game has no depth, it's not supposed to have a lot of depth anyway but even the story is light, the faction quests are pretty light and the stakes are never as high as they should be or claim to be.

I've never had any gamebreaking glitches in my game, only graphics errors (I.E. Water textures not forming properly, Dragons not all the way developed) and the occasional backwards flying dragon (which I thought as a magnificent creature BTW) otherwise Skyrim has been clean for me.

Just download Cthulhu Saves the World... I am in ****ing love.
It's hilarious and makes fun of various JRPG tropes all long the way, your first "boss" is a Warrior, Cleric and Rogue and there is an enemy called Beltman which obvious is poking fun at Square Enix designs xD
Oh and it has a LOT of nods to Lovecraft, albeit in a humorous manner.

I was more disappointing with the writing, I know that Nintendo sucks when it comes to making good narritives, but Skyward Sword's writing was probably some of the worst I've seen from them. Then again it probably felt that way because it tried to focus more on the narrative in other Nintendo games.

Being a huge Zelda fan I've played every single game in the series except the CD-I series. I would argue that Twilight Princess is the worst console Zelda. I agree though the motion controls in Skyward Sword were Bull.

I was completely disappointed with the game after the third dungeon, besides the snow mansion dungeon I was pretty bored with the game from then on.

BTW if anyone has a 3DS I highly suggest you check out Mighty Switch Force, it is a really fun platformer/puzzler. It is really short but it is also really cheap (3DS download game). Also send me you Friend Code.

I think that zelda generally has easy final bosses. I think the one exception is Zelda 2. On a semi related note I found my old gamecube with the gameboy player attached to it. The only GB games I had on me were kirby nightmare in dreamland, pokemon leaf green and a dead Zelda Link's Awakening DX. It is a shame that I have to play Link's Awakening on my 3ds and not on the original system. Has anyone played Four Swords Adventures, I love that game. I've been waiting for a online sequel or remake on the DS (possibly 3ds) since I found out the DS will be online.

They have four swords redone to play one player on the DSI right now. I don't think they will keep it up for much longer. It was good but really short (like daisy dukes short). Four Swords Adventures has a lot more replay value.

Zelda for the most part isn't "hard" per se. It just kind of dips and spikes a lot. Overall, all the games more or less play the same and once you have enough experience with the series its reasonably easy.
Final Fantasy is debatable though.

I agree, I remember not having much trouble with Wind Waker, busting my brain on Ocarina, having even a harder time on Majora's Mask. Then when it came to twilght princess I owned it in less than 40 hours my first try Easy peasy

Looks like Nintendo's western branches may be learning, they have announced they will release Spirit Camera in the west, though time will tell if This just because of the Cero 12 and up rating or if Nintendo is finally getting caught up with what a modern day publishers.

Personally, I have mixed feelings about her. She keeps implying that if you haven't experienced it, then you shouldn't write about it, prior to bragging about how she has a high standard of reading.
